Shutter Guy

We purchased plantation shutters from Andy Long, the Shutter Guy, for two rooms. Andy was very responsive and was quick to return a phone call to respond to any questions; however, it was a challenge for Andy and his team to get the job done properly. Andy and his team had to return to our house a number of times to fix problems with both the shutters as well as workmanship. At times, the corrective actions made the situation worse. The first set of shutters received were returned because of manufacturer defect, but only after insisting on a replacement. As a manufactured product, noticeable defects should not be tolerated and frankly should have been caught in the factory. We also had issues with louvers that would not open/close as well as issues with the tilt bars. In addition, because of poor measurements, the shutters did not fit properly and therefore scratched the window frame upon opening and closing. It took Andy and his team multiple attempts to install the shutters properly. Overall, the process was not what we had in mind and we were unsatisfied with the results.

I purchased a new town home in Mount Pleasant and needed made to order wooden blinds (eleven in total) on all the windows. I reached out to several companies via email and Andy was the first to respond. Although the town home was not complete yet he visited the model home to give me an estimate. His estimate was reasonable for the product and his price included installation. I placed the order and he installed product in 2 weeks as promised. He was prompt to return emails or phone calls. I would highly recommend him as he was professional, courteous and well priced. Other companies should strive to be like Andy at the Shutter Guy.

Andy, The Shutter Guy, is our go-to-guy for shutters and blinds. He is on time, organized, upfront and provides great service. We refer all our interior design clients to him. He is knowledgeable about his products and always delivers. We know we can count on Andy and he is great to work with. In addition, we both have had Andy work in our personal homes and are very pleased with his work.

Andy Long responded promptly to my inquiry and was always obliging during the entire process of setting appointments, my changing of set appointments, and installation of my shutters throughout my home and his ideas for the roller shade on my sliding glass door. I would never hesitate to recommend him to anyone looking for ideas on how to address their window treatment needs and desires.

Shutter Guy (aka Andy) is highly knowledgeable of window treatments and decorative solutions. He provides quality products and installation while standing behind everything he does. Andy is the type of service provider everyone wants to deal with; customer focused with a great sense of pride in his work. We highly recommend the Shutter Guy!

Installation looked great. However, Andy did not follow through on agreement. He would not take down old blinds (at high elevation) after project completed (we have a great room and wanted natural light into the living room with no shutter interference). this was explicitly agreed on before contract signed. customer service is important. would not trust to do business with him again.
