We had such a wonderful experience working with Annie and her team and truly love the final result of our home! From the beginning, Annie was very flexible with the scope of our project. We focused on the main level of the house and wanted to reuse several meaningful pieces we already owned, and she embraced that approach happily. She was also transparent about budget and proactive with updates, which made the experience feel very organized and professional. We came into the project knowing that we ourselves could create a beautiful neutrally decorated space but we really wanted to 1) be pushed creatively and 2) be advised on how to maximize functionality of the space. Annie introduced color, texture, and personality in a way that still felt very “us,” elevating the design far beyond what we would have achieved on our own. One of the things we appreciated most was her emphasis on functionality. We have an interesting layout and a young family, so it was important that the space worked for life with a toddler today while also feeling timeless and adaptable as we grow into it long term. Annie was thoughtful and forward-thinking in how she approached those decisions. During the project we had a personal situation arise that required us to shift how we worked together and Annie responded with kindness, flexibility, and understanding. That really meant a lot to our family. All in all, we absolutely love our home and working with Annie and her team was a fantastic experience!

As I write this I’m sitting in my fantastic new living room, which is an excellent example of the outstanding work that Annie and her team did for us on our rebuild. 5 months after moving back into our house, we love everything that the Lowengart team did for us, and we are grateful for all the advice, hard work and support that they provided throughout the process. It was pretty clear that the interior design, furnishings and layout of the house would turn out really well. We knew Annie and her team were pros, and we expected the result to be top-notch based on her portfolio and our initial conversations. A very pleasant surprise was how comfortable and inviting the final choices ended up being. It just feels like home. Something that was very important to us was that our designer took the time to really understand what we wre looking for and would be very collaborative in the design process. This is an area where the Lowengart team went well beyond our expectations. They really “Got” what we were looking for, and made sure that we were heard and the choices truly reflected our styles and had a personal touch. One of the things that really impressed me about Lowengart Interior’s approach was their rigor around planning and budgeting. The project management was incredibly professional and effective - everything was accounted for, tracked, and delivered. As you would expect with a project of this scope, there were a few things that didn’t turn out as planned. Annie and her team were 100% focused on making sure we were happy with the final result, and were great partners all the way through. Finally, as the “Finance Department” for the project, I am incredibly grateful for the detail and consideration around budgeting and cost management. There were no surprises over the course of the 2+ years we worked with her team, which is simply remarkable. We even came in a few dollars under budget… I cannot recommend Annie and her team highly enough. We love the result, and we are so appreciative of the great partnership and service we received.

After three years of navigating an incredibly difficult process with our architect and the town, I was honestly at the point of tears when I first spoke with Annie. From that very first phone call, she listened with empathy, offered thoughtful guidance, and immediately helped me feel optimistic about what was possible. Annie joined us for a full-home renovation and furnishings project, guiding everything from space planning and material selections to custom pieces, retail sourcing, and final installation. Early in the process, she conducted a thorough review of the project scope and budget so we clearly understood the cost implications at every stage, which gave us confidence moving forward. Annie gently and skillfully guided me back to my original vision, reminding me of what truly made me happy. She kept the process focused and efficient while still making it fun and collaborative. Working with Annie felt like a true partnership...she respected my input, worked seamlessly with my team, and elevated every decision with her expertise. Annie is professional, approachable, and an absolute pleasure to work with. She is also incredibly mindful of the budget, something I personally struggle with, but my husband deeply appreciates. She was always transparent about where it made sense to splurge and where to save, clearly outlining cost implications so there were never any surprises. Her team is equally impressive...organized, responsive, and attentive to every last detail. During installation, I found myself wanting to linger and chat (and maybe even help!), but they had everything handled with total precision and ease. Over the last two years, Annie and her team have done a phenomenal job with the design and furnishing of our brand new home build and ADU in Sonoma. We couldn't be happier with the end result. Annie owned the entire interior aesthetics of the property, including colors and materials, as well as the furnishings. At every point along the way we felt like we were being guided by an expert hand, whose opinions we trusted and who worked tirelessly to make sure we were satisfied with the end result. Annie had a difficult challenge with my husband and I having very different aesthetics, with his being more traditional and conservative, while I like bold colors and designs. Annie had to blend these within a very modern space with floor to ceiling glass wrapping around most of the largest rooms. She was able to understand each of our styles and find designs that could make both of us happy, while also making us each feel respected and heard in the process. She had incredible patience with us as we worked through areas of disagreement, and offered smart solutions that enabled us both to love the end result. As we went through different ideas, one of the things that stood out to us was Annie's incredible breadth of knowledge of different brands and options out there for everything from furniture to tile to art. When we didn't like an idea, she was able to come up with other options on the spot. Another thing that stood out to us was Annie's strong project and budget management skills, as well as transparency around every step of the process. We actually came in under budget in many areas of the project, and we always felt that while she offered recommendations with conviction, she was always willing to accomodate us if we decided that we wanted to spend less in a particular area. Every meeting started with a budget review to make sure we were aligned and on board with where things stood. As we journeyed with Annie through the process we really came to rely on her design judgment. She has a phenomenal eye especially for how different pieces will work together within a space. In fact, near the end of the process, after my husband got design fatigue from all of the decisions that had to be made, he decided to leave everything else up to Annie and was pleasantly surprised at the reveal to be aligned with almost every choice she made. Our friends who have visited the house were blown away by the final product. We couldn't be happier with our new home and we would work with Annie and her fabulous team again in a heartbeat. You'll be in great hands with her.

I had a great experience working with Annie and the rest of the team at ALI to furnish my home. I recently purchased a new construction home, and wanted help with furnishing the space. I loved the space as it was built and didn’t want extensive changes, but window treatments were important to me — the house has more windows than walls and didn’t come with any way to cover them up — which ultimately necessitated some remodeling. After selecting and interviewing 6 design firms based on their reviews and portfolios, I brought on Annie and her team to help. From the beginning of the process, I was impressed by Annie’s depth of knowledge, her solution-oriented mindset, and her commitment to matching the space to my needs. Throughout the process, I found Annie and her team a delight to work with. They were always friendly, prepared, and efficient. More importantly to me, they were deeply collaborative. There were times when I knew exactly what I wanted (e.g. laying out a project space or cabinetry for an entertainment center), even showing up with custom specs or sketches, and Annie’s team adopted them and made them happen. On the other hand, there were times when I struggled to decide on something, and they stepped in and offered their own recommendations. They were great at both, and switched effortlessly as needed. Even for things outside of ALI’s scope, nothing gave Annie pause, and she always had someone on speed dial to solve the problem. My home has high vaulted windows, and I told Annie up front that I wanted motorized shades. She immediately agreed that made sense (another designer I spoke with seemed overwhelmed by the prospect), and subsequently brought in a general contractor, a drapery fabricator, and an installer. Not only were they also all friendly, reliable, and efficient, but they shared Annie’s collaborative style. I felt shared ownership over the solutions we came up with, and the end result is fantastic — it looks like it could have been built with the house. I would happily bring any of them back for future work. End-to-end, the whole project took about 14 months until installation (with a few stragglers), a month behind Annie’s initial target. We were also slightly under budget, which surprised me. Throughout the process, Annie offered great options mostly at or around the target price, but often included a higher-end option. In some cases, I *loved* those options and chose to go over budget. But even though we ended up well over budget on cost of goods, we were so far under budget on time billing and other costs that it more than made up for it, a reflection of her team’s efficiency. But most importantly, I am delighted with the results. Everything is beautiful, comfortable, works for my needs, and filled with creative touches that I would never have selected on my own. I feel like I got exactly what I wanted out of the process, and I would happily bring Annie and her team back if I need interior help in the future.

Annie is an AMAZING designer. She is highly experienced and talented, has impeccable taste and just has a natural, effortless ability to make design decisions. She is decisive and resourceful, having and ideas and suggestions at her fingertips. She's also fair and honest and a very nice, unpretentious and caring person. It's a pleasure working with her!

We've had the pleasure of working with Annie and her team at ALI on two design projects over the past three years. Her creativity and vision combined with her great expertise brought our homes to life in unique and beautiful ways. We first teamed up with Annie on an extensive remodel of our historic San Francisco home that included a full kitchen/dining area gutting, multiple new bathrooms, paint, art consulting and soft goods throughout. Our architect had recommended ALI based on Annie's experience updating historic homes like ours, but what stood out for us was how direct and organized her process was from day one, including a high level of budget transparency. One of the highlights of working with Annie over the course of this two-year project was her ability to cater to our preferences while also pushing us out of our comfort zone when she saw the opportunity for something really special. Two years into living in our home, many of our favorite elements are those things we never would have considered had she not nudged us toward them. Another strength of Annie's was listening to our needs when it came to functionality—with two young boys at home, durability and practicality were often a factor for us. In those cases, Annie managed to produce designs that elegantly and creatively addressed those needs, from hidden pull-out drawers for toy storage in a custom sofa to upholstery fabrics that are durable while still feeling luxurious. Annie's lighting selection and sense of color were also highlights for us. The fixtures she helped us select for our foyer and living room are far from simple sources of light, they are true works of art, hand-made by artisans from her unique repertoire of craftspeople. As for color, she pushed us (in a good way) to consider applications that initially felt dramatic but ultimately turned those areas into visually lush spaces that we love to be in. Our second project with Annie and team was for our vacation home in Wine Country, involving mainly soft goods and design consulting for both indoor and outdoor areas. Outdoors included new construction of a kitchen and pool with surrounding living areas. In contrast to our San Francisco home with all of its historic embellishments and the design to match, the Sonoma home is all modern, clean lines. Annie didn't skip a beat in pivoting to a more relaxed, organic style befitting of the more rural terroir. Whether indoors or out, the resulting spaces are comfortable yet elegant, and once again Annie delivered designs that are both beautiful yet functional. Annie and team helped turn both of our houses into homes that we love living in and that visitors constantly compliment us on. From managing the myriad details passing between us and our architect and contractor during construction, to presenting us with furniture and lighting pieces that we fell in love with, Annie made our renovation journeys inspiring and fun and we've been enjoying the results ever since.

Annie and her team were indispensable as we took on a brand new home project in the mountains. They invested time and energy into understanding our vision, and they were committed to making our house truly “ours”. The whole team was efficient and responsive as well as being incredibly thoughtful and creative. When we encountered the inevitable hiccups in the build process, Annie’s experience and enthusiasm quickly helped resolve any issues. The ALI team’s professionalism around having an organized timeline and extremely detailed budget was impressive and helped us understand how the project would unfold. When we are ready for our next project Annie will be our first phone call.

Working with Annie to redo my living room was a great a pleasure as the finished product! She is kind, patient, creative and absolutely loaded with ideas and experience. She often knew just what I would love as soon as I tried to describe it. When I had great difficulty in choosing the final fabric, she could not have been more patient and kind. I am thrilled each day by the results; every time I enter the room, I feel peaceful by the colors that flow right to the trees and sky outside. She worked with the existing furniture to make all pieces contribute to the serenity. It is, in short, utterly beautiful, as much as I had hoped but more than I could have imagined.

We hired Annie to help us with a gut / remodel + addition for our home in Hillsborough. It was a big project and was during COVID which added a bunch of complexity as we needed to do a lot of our work virtually. As we moved through the project, the scope expanded and so did our asks of Annie. She was incredibly gracious with her time and always available to jump on the phone to bounce judgments off of. She became our design advisor not only on the interior decor, but on key elements of the exterior including paint color, roof material, window trims, custom door design and countless other things. She had a great conceptual grasp of what we were trying to do (maintain a French style architecture but make it fresh and a bit more modern). She listened to our wants and needs and had a combination of flexibility when we were resistant to something - either due to style or cost, but then making sure we heard her views when she felt something was important. And I have to say, the things she pushed us on a bit - we are SO glad we did them. We would also be remiss if we didn't talk about Annie's wonderful team. We did a lot of the sourcing calls for interior decor with Julia and Teresa. Both were hardworking, great communicators, and patient as we were trying to find the right looks for each of the rooms in our home. They were also flexible in how we sourced for various rooms, as sometimes we had stumbled onto things we liked and they were happy to incorporate them into the overall aesthetic. What was important for us is that we didn't want to completely "outsource" the design to someone else's aesthetic but we didn't exactly know what ours was, particularly because we had slightly different views on what we thought would look good. Annie and her team helped us find our design aesthetic and we absolutely love our home. We have received endless compliments and have had several people asked us who our designer was. We would absolutely recommend Annie and her team and are grateful for the great advice and service she and her team provided.

When we purchased our 135 year old Queen Anne home, we knew we were going to be undertaking a large project but beyond that, we were pretty clueless. We started the project by interviewing many designers and Annie and her team were by far the most thoughtful. They asked great questions and helped us to really hone in on the scope of our project. What started in our mind as a kitchen and bath remodel, turned into touching all 6000 square ft of our home. Annie helped us find the team to make our dream a reality- referring us to both our architect and contractor and held our hand through the entire process. Annie begins her projects by really getting to know you. She has what is called your “narrative document” that gets you answering questions about your family and your goals. The part that struck me the most was that the majority of the questions were not about aesthetics, rather the feel you want to have when you enter each part of your home and the functionality each space needs to have. And she remembers what you say and makes sure that all of the design choices are made with your ultimate goals in mind. The thing I like best about Annie is she makes the entire project about you and your vision. Not about her ego or her design. She told us in the beginning that our house should look like the best version of us and it does. And although she wants the home to be the best version of you, she has no problem pushing you out of your comfort zone if she thinks it’s the right choice. And any time we second guessed her specifications, we ultimately returned to what she had originally chosen for us and we couldn’t be happier. As with any construction project, we had little setbacks along the way and Annie was always there for us. She was immediately accessible via phone or text when we had “design emergencies”. For example the painter was questioning our color choice for our millwork and I got nervous. I called Annie and she immediately talked me down and the color choice is now one of my favorite parts of our house. These are just a few examples of why Annie was such a great member of our home remodel team. The outcome exceeded our expectations and Annie really brought our ideas to life. I would highly recommend working with Annie and her team on any design project.

We just finished two 4-year projects with Annie and her team. Two extensive remodels. Four years, two pregnancies (mine) and a pandemic. That alone says a lot about her commitment to her work and her clients’ happiness. Annie loves her work and it shows. Her passion about design is contagious making her meetings something you look forward to. She is very thoughtful about your specific needs and life stage, and makes recommendations accordingly. With years of experience under her belt, she can quickly identify ways that design can complement your life that never would have occurred to you. Here’s some of what I love about working with Annie: •She’s got Procter & Gamble roots. So do I. We spoke the same language when it came to process. We discussed up front how the project would unfold so our expectations were managed. And she is very clear with the overall project budget. She provides regular updates regarding how the budget is tracking and is transparent about where any overages are coming from. •She works well with a novice. These were my first interior design projects and I literally had no idea what to expect, much less spoke the language. She was always very patient with me, was happy to walk through even the simple details, and define terms like “escutcheon,” to ensure I understood. •She doesn’t offend easily. In fact, she encourages you to tell her when you don’t like something so she can hone in on what you do like and better serve you. I dislike nearly all sconces and floor lamps, but I now live in a home with multiple of each and I love them all. This is no small feat. •Every detail gets attention. In major projects like ours, some decisions are very big, others very small. I appreciate that even when we were selecting a simple throw for my kids’ room, Annie and her team took care to find options that were appropriate from a material, design and cost perspective. She understands that even the small things matter a lot. Annie loves partnering with you to make your house your home. Thank you, Annie, for your commitment to us and our projects. Annie is a true artist and a master of her craft. Our project started with a desire to remodel two of our bathrooms. We’d lived in our house for about four years, and the list of “wouldn’t it be nice if…” items had grown pretty long. After finding Annie’s wonderfully colorful and resonant work online and through a shared connection, we went through an intake process. Annie encouraged us to think broadly about ways in which we might refresh and improve elements of the house. In the end, we ended up doing a pretty full redesign and refurnishing, remodeled all of our bathrooms, and checked off a lengthy list of fixes and improvements that have resulted in a transformative feeling of space and ease when we move through the house. We are incredibly happy with how the project turned out. Annie’s process is decision-intensive. She estimated that we had to make over 250 choices in connection with this process. This is not a matter of handing your house over and coming back to a magazine (although she could do that if you asked). We were active partners in a process that took close to two years (including the pandemic!) from first phone call to last little bit of detail coming in. She was very responsive to our design preferences (one of which was that we didn't want our house to look too "design-y"), and always made us feel comfortable speaking up when we didn't like something, as well as stretching us into a few decisions that were just slightly outside of our comfort zone. Annie was extremely attentive to the budget and was continually transparent with us about where we were throughout the process. In the end, we ended up slightly under-budget on goods purchased for the project, which makes us very happy! (We did end up over-budget on design-time, but it's reasonable to assume this was very much pandemic-related. We had to reselect many things over several times when stock was unavailable because of Covid delays...) One anecdote from our experience: our master bathroom design keys off a green tiled floor. After spending a lot of time selecting the hand made tiles that I assume were created by elves on the Moon based on their cost and availability, we finally got the tiles in. And … Annie sent them back. Why? Because they weren't right. There is enough variance between batches of handmade product that this batch had too much mottled brown and that wasn’t going to give us the bathroom we wanted. And this is the yin and yang of working with an artist. Annie had both the design expertise to know that the northern light coming into our bathroom would make the floor look wrong AND she had the willingness to delay the tile setter coming in to get it right. But in the end, we got what we wanted and that’s what counts. We would happily work with Annie on future projects and absolutely LOVE the end-product of our collaboration!

I've lived in my home for 26 years and it was in dire need of updating after years of loving use by my 4 kids (now grown and living elsewhere) and a couple of dogs. At a minimum the floors needed refinishing and the walls needed to be repainted. However, it felt like a perfect time to rethink and refresh my home. I turned to Ann Lowengart Interiors to help with the process. From the very first visit Annie was professional, helping me understand the scope and the budget and coming up with fabulous ideas for the interiors. Since those initial meetings Annie and her team have kept my project moving forward with good communication and updates even through the Covid-19 shutdown. The end result is just what I hoped for and has wonderfully exceeded my expectations. And best of all - we all love the results - my husband, my kids, and the dog!

My house is absolutely perfect and I have Annie Lowengart to thank for it. Annie was recommended to me by a close family friend who had seen her incredibly beautiful room in the 2016 San Francisco Decorator Showcase. I didn’t know Annie at all before we met and had no idea the wonderful treat I was in for. We started with our recently acquired property that had been remodeled and added on to over the last several decades. The house was tired and was in need of an overhaul. Annie then arrived and in her kind, direct, confident and creative way painted a vision for us that could not be matched. The only thing that did match was the end result. We now have a new home that is virtually perfect. Every piece - light fixtures, sofas, cabinet faces, window treatments - is better than I could’ve imagined. From the things I use to pull my closet doors open, to the gorgeous tables and chairs, to the new and immensely practical family-friendly floorplan, everything is beyond my expectations. Of course it goes without saying that while each element looks amazing, what’s even better is how comfortable everything is. From the sofas in my family room with their squishy yet firm/nap-ready seats, to the saddle leather pulls she had made in New York for my master closet, every detail is special. One of the most important parts of this whole project however, even above and beyond how insane everything looks, is what a trustworthy and excellent lead she was on the project. Annie brought not only a contractor who would deliver on time, but also an architect who was perfectly in sync with the vision she laid out for us. The accounting was spot on and Annie always kept us up to date on any changes. There were no surprises. Everything blew away our expectations so much that we have now hired Annie to re-design our home in Napa. I can’t thank Annie and her team enough for delivering such a complete and total homerun of a house, but also a complete and total lifestyle change for our family; one that is filled with beauty, comfort, value, and a whole lot of fun.

“Stunning”, “Amazing”, “WOW, WOW, WOW” are just a few of the comments I’ve heard in the last couple of weeks since we finished our 2 1/2 year complete gut and full house decorating job on our historic home in Pacific Heights. I couldn’t be more pleased with the end product and the fabulous and fun journey we had with Annie and the whole team at Ann Lowengart Interiors. Our project was immense. We remodeled the entire house, added complex technical elements like a floating staircase and a car lift, and excavated bedrock to add additional living space. We also reimagined the whole interior with gorgeous custom furniture, window treatments, rugs and too many special details even to mention. My innate style was perfectly expressed through all the texture Annie added including a sumptuous leather paneled piano niche, custom hardwood floor patterns, bespoke and handmade door hardware and (faux) shagreen tile, just to name a few. Overall my love of modern and organic materials was ideally balanced in the decor with fresh silhouettes and perfect proportions throughout. Not only is the decorating in our home drop-dead fabulous, but Annie’s involvement in the project was the key to achieving the fantastic result we did. Annie was our first call and, after getting to know my husband and me, she suggested an architect and contractor who completed the top-notch team. They all worked together seamlessly. Annie kept everyone on track and accountable while ensuring we remained relaxed - laughing, joking and feeling secure about both the process and final result. If you’ve seen Annie’s work you know her style is impeccable. But what you won’t see in the photographs is the operational excellence and absolute accuracy and follow-through of the Ann Lowengart Interiors team. Our project required an incredibly dedicated set of people to shepherd the volume of custom items through the system and Ann Lowengart Interiors did it flawlessly - with no accounting errors nor anything slipping through the cracks. Annie and her team are very talented at understanding your vision at the first meeting and making it happen. She gets along with everyone, even the most difficult of personalities. She totally stepped in when we had to leave for extended periods of absences. The last thing I’d like to mention is what a truly “forever” trusted resource Annie has become. We were really blown away with her ability to accurately forecast the cost of the project and then deliver under budget. For a project of our size that is huge! Additionally, the design is exceptionally smashing. But the best part was making this significant journey with someone who not only exceeded expectations but became a trusted confidant and friend.

We just finished a multi-year, full house remodel and decorating project with Annie Lowengart and we couldn’t be more pleased. Our home is not only gorgeous, but also completely reflects our style and taste in the most elevated way. Although the physical result of our collaboration with Annie is wonderful, the time we had on our 2 1/2 your journey with her was equally fantastic. Annie was an amazing collaborator on our project! She helped us with tricky questions at the very beginning, like scope and finding the right contractor and architect, through to realizing our complete vision for our home. Annie really did her homework with us to extract our ideas, make our vision come to life, and we couldn’t be more pleased with the result. She went the extra mile - she studied every topic that came up, was fully available to talk through every question and detail, even late at night and early in the morning. She was tireless - even sending us inspiration images from her vacation in Mexico and shopping ideas when she was on a personal outing in LA. My family and I worked with Annie and her team on an extensive remodel in 2014-2015. Annie is charming and professional, highly ethical, responsive, and fun to work with. We have worked with several of the top designers in the San Francisco area, and Ann is by far the best! We engaged her to do a complete remodel of our 5,200 s.f. house and guest house in Marin, which included 2 kitchens and 6 bathrooms. We are notoriously slow at making decisions, and we knew that eventually we might want to put the house up for sale. We wanted something that would reflect her amazing taste and creativity, but also have universal appeal. So, we decided to put ourselves entirely in her hands. Best choice that we ever made! Annie is one of the best designers not only in her style but her execution which is what clients really want. We recently had a tough property where owner could not move in and to resell it quickly would have created a loss for our clients of hundreds of thousands. My husband and I hired Annie for a complete remodel and furnishing of the first floor of our home. We could not be happier with the process and outcome. We used ALI for all elements of a very sizable project - covering approximately half of our 7,000 square foot home. She redesigned and furnished our: 1) Outdoor space 2) Master bedroom 3) Living room 4) Dining room 5) Family room 6) General hallways, etc. Most importantly to me the project came in on budget and looks SPECTACULAR. Annie and her team understand where it is worthwhile to spend more money and where it is best to buy off-the-shelf. We used Annie last year on the remodel of our kitchen/living/dining rooms. We had some definite ideas of what we wanted done but needed help making our home look polished but livable and comfortable. Annie worked with us helping us with everything from paint color, to picking out couches and lamps to go with the pieces we had already chosen for the living room. We had an idea for our dining room table and she gave us some great advice on a different style along with matching chairs. The end result is a home decorated beautifully in our style, but pulled together better than if we had done it on our own.

Ann was very helpful with our remodel. We decided to take lead on the interior design for budget reasons. We turned to Ann as a sounding board for our choices and in many cases relied on her for concrete direction on areas where we were clueless or helpless (paint colors, moulding, grout color, counterpoint edging, this list goes on and on). With paint colors, specifically, she was very helpful - she gave advice on a good process to use for evaluating colors and also gave recommendations on sheens and tried and true colors that fit within our style preferences. We appreciated Ann's efficiency on several levels, but most especially from a budget perspective. Too often when doing a remodel, homeowners are left with minimal or non existent budgets for professional advice on finishings or furnishings. Yet these are the things that pull your project together into a beautiful home. Ann Lowengart is a very talented designer. Annie has completed two projects in my home and I hope to hire her for more down the road. Our first project with Annie was a master suite, including bedroom, walk-in-closet for my wife, walk-in-closet/study for me and a bathroom. I had initially been skeptical about using a designer, but quickly realized I was wrong. We had limited square footage for the suite - but Ann masterfully worked with our footprint and designed a space which literally leverages every square foot - in beautiful style and warmth. The second project was our living room where Annie had the challenging task of designing a room around a 17th century german tapestry family heirloom and 18th century english antiques. We were looking for fresh and chic and Annie nailed it. She used high gloss blue paint on the walls to add contemporary flare to the antique furniture and tapestry. She brought in bright coral accents and modern brass fixtures as surprise elements which perfectly "speak" to the colors in the tapestry. And, she made it a cozy, comfy, space where our family can cuddle up in front of the fire. It is chic yet approachable and modern in its perfect integration of old and new.

Annie has an incredible eye for detail, and the details really matter! My husband and I remodeled most of our 1938 house which included gutting a 1,000 square foot attic with head room issues (think English Tudor pitches:). Annie was a life saver. I had been around and around with an architect and all we had to show for it was a lot of paper drawings and a dwindling budget! Annie came in and the stress dissipated with each meeting. I moved into a new home in August of 2011 -- I was looking for a brand new look for the whole bottom floor of my home, on a very tight budget. Annie and her team did a fabulous job! In a few months I had a complete dining room, living room and breakfast room that I'm absolutely in love with. A year later, I'm still excited to come home and see my new rooms! Annie was particularly helpful in steering me towards cost savings items when appropriate, and also letting me know where to splurge. My rooms are kid friendly and grown up at the same time! I trust Annie's judgment completely. And, though I know I'm not her biggest fee client, I always feel like I am. I continue to call Annie as I work through my upstairs rooms! Love her.

Annie is an amazing interior decorator. We used Annie to help us with a kitchen remodel and update our family room. Annie worked with us over the course of 18 months on an extensive remodel of our home. Her ideas and suggestions every step of the way shaped the entire project and turned our old house into our dream home with every room worthy of oohs and aahs. From construction details in framing to objets d'art for our finished shelves, her input as well as her attentive and collaborative style made working on our project a pleasure.

Annie worked with us on three large remodeling projects in our San Francisco home over a seven year period including a kitchen, two bathrooms, and a total redo of our upstairs (four bedroom, hallways, etc...). She gave us design ideas, managed the contractors and kept track of total costs. We were impressed with her professionalism, scheduling, thoughtful and practical ideas, and very friendly demeanor. My wife and I highly recommend her and, in fact, are working with her again (11 years from our first project) for a small bathroom remodel now.

We hired Annie to gut and remodel our master suite, reorganizing the space to create larger closets, a work space for my husband, built-ins, and a larger master bath. She did an amazing job that exceeded our expectations. Annie was able to understand my vision for our project and deliver beautiful results on time and on budget. She is a joy to work with and made the renovation process fun - I looked forward to our days together and was constantly amazed by her style, creativity, and resourcefulness. I also appreciated that Annie knew what to "save" from our old house. We had very old, tired door knobs throughout our house. Instead of recommending we replace all of them, she suggested we restore them because of their unique character. These door knobs were transformed and are beautiful and unique - restoring them also cost significantly less than new hardware.

Annie transformed our partially-formed ideas into a vision for our home that is grounded in our own taste and objectives but refined through the alchemy of Annie’s impeccable taste and expertise. She took our goals, our style sense, and our color preferences and made them more coherent and consistent across our home so that the whole is greater than the sum of the parts. One of Annie’s capabilities is her ability to get the most out a team. The interplay between Annie, the architect, the builders and ourselves is exciting to watch and participate in.
