My wife and I really enjoyed working with Chris on our 2023 condo remodel project in Del Mar. We got the contemporary look we wanted, the project moved along at a very good pace, and we came in at our budget. We highly recommend using Balboa!

Chris at the Balboa Design Group has really been integral to the design of our home. From pulling together both interior and exterior designs for an ADU in our backyard to design work for the interior of our house, he has elevated our ideas and helped us create a much more beautiful and elegant sanctuary. Our home now references the local colors of the region, granite from the hills, rich ocher-brown in the canyons, and a leafy-green reminiciant of the chapparel. He has helped us pick a richer wallpaper in our living room then we would have originally gone with and we are delighted with the outcome, a fabric wallpaper of animals and leaves that have immediately caught the attention of our visitors. Chris is easy to talk to and capable turning suggestions into codified plans. We will definitely continue to work with him.

Chris worked with us to design conversion of our garage into an ADU. Chris listened to our interests and then developed a detailed and iterative design that expanded our initial vision. Because Chris was connected with the industry, he was able to connect us with an excellent architect and high quality contractor for our build out. I highly recommend working on projects with Chris!

Chris and his team completed a full remodel for me on a single family house I bought to renovate. He maximized the kitchen storage space while keeping an open and bright feel going into the living room. He created an amazing layout in the already present studio attached that add so much value to the house. His contacts and expertise were invaluable throughout the process as I would have likely paid 30% more on the project had I gone with other firms. I can’t recommend Balboa Design Group enough! Anyone that’s even thinking of hiring them should move forward. They won’t be disappointed.

Chris helped us redesign our home. He's a very creative thinker who came up with the unique idea of adding windows in our kitchen (replacing cabinets). He's also a great listener - provides his input thoughtfully and quietly and has really figured out our style! Chris also has been very knowledgeable about sourcing quality items!

Chris contacted us about adding a unique accent to a remodeling client's restaurant in San Diego's Hillcrest District with our reclaimed boards made from vintage boats. I was so excited by his design and vision for the space. Working with Chris to select the correct boards for the space, it was obvious how dedicated he is to his client's and to his projects. Chris was a great designer to work with. Friendly, professional and a great designer! He has great taste and suggestions on every single detail. Chris was very patient with us through the process, always willing to entertain our crazy ideas that at the end he made them a reality. He provided great 3D sketches which gave us a very good idea of what the end result was going to look like, helping visualize things. Chris was always ensuring we were happy with the design and the accents. He went out of his way to help correct an issue with the count tops having a different shade, working to replace them, he even went with us to the supplier so we could choose the exact pieces ourselves. He was very flexible and worked with us to make small change we wanted during the process. The only thing was a pull out addition in the inside of a cabinet did not fit since it was a couple of inches too small, so we modified. Overall, extremely happy with Chis. I truly recommend him!

If you're looking for someone who will be by your side from concept to completion, Chris is your guy. Chris was patient throughout the design process with our numerous questions and requests, he delivered great designs and recommended a great contractor. As with most remodels, there can be hiccups or surprises along the way, Chris was there to assure that the end product would be something that we would be happy and satisfied with. We love how everything turned out and couldn't be more satisfied.

Chris was recommended to me by my friend who is doing a kitchen reno, I have spent a lot of money on designers over the years and I just wish I could have met Chris earlier lol. He is an incredible designer, truly listens and gets it on the first try. His attention to detail, understanding truly what the client wants/needs while also pushing outside of our comfort zone makes for an exceptional experience. Do not look any further!!
