I have loved having my designer, Ashley, create a plan for the whole house. As a busy professional, it has saved so much of my time and effort. Her future vision saved us money as well. Jan, along with Ashley, has just completed yet another amazing job for us, this time on our living room. We couldn’t be more happy with our space - everything is just gorgeous! We enlisted the services of Barnard & Speziale to design our living room and dining room spaces (furniture/lighting/crown moulding/art work). We had considered moving for many years but decided the best option was to stay and re-invent the space. We had never used a design firm before so this was our first experience. We met with Erica and Jan who immediately gained a sense of what we were looking for even though my husband and I were not exactly sure ourselves. They examined our space and came back with a design board of fabric/colours/furniture options that we instantly connected with. Even though we did not know how the whole project was going to come together, they definitely understood our comfort zone, style goals and were able to incorporate those into the space they were given. As far as the process went, Jan & Erica were very open to discussing options when we weren't sure which way we wanted to go. We did put a lot of trust in them as we didn't see the actual furniture pieces or artwork until the day of the reveal. All we saw were fabric swatches and a picture of the item. We could not have been more impressed with the final product. In fact, 5 months later, we still walk through the front door and sigh at how beautiful the space is and how at home we feel. The space looks so much bigger and more inviting because they chose furniture that was to scale for the rooms and colours that connect and enhance each item. Before, we had not used our space well and it felt cluttered with no flow. They created a space that was balanced and luxurious. I especially loved how they chose funky pieces and artwork that really gave the rooms style and a unique quality. There are a lot of beautiful things in this world but I think it takes a special talent to be able to connect those beautiful objects with the right people for the right space. The designers at Barnard & Speziale are talented at doing just that - creating a space that is beautiful and tailored to the client. They are beyond knowledgeable, great to work with, professional but personable and committed to their dates. We are now hiring them to design our kitchen and family room space. Once you see the beautiful work they do, it is impossible not to want to have that feeling in every room in your house.
