We worked with Derrek after interviewing 3 other architects. He has an ease while being very disciplined. He also has a fluidity of communication that we highly value. We really enjoyed renovating our mid century home with his expertise. He respected the original architecture and really heard our own ideas as he helped bring our living situation up to date. Our general contractor also enjoys working with him—Derrek’s all-around great!!

I have developed many homes over the years for resale. When it came time to build our family dream home, a 7500' custom home, I decided to we needed a special architect / design firm and talent. Derrek Benson exceeded our expectations. His attention to detail, vision and flexibility was second to none all through the process. I strongly recommend Benson Design and Development.

I loved working with you on your New Custom Home. To this date you have been one of my most favorite client's. You let me be involved in every phase of the construction beyond the design of your new home. The house is truly a work of art and I am very proud of the built work. To this day it still looks brand new.

Derrek is amazing! So professional, so talented... was always available when we had questions. We had a very tough project with lots of permits,a retaining wall, etc... and he always got any answer we needed. He designed the perfect extension for us and was there overseeing the project every step of the way!

Mr. Benson is willing to go the extra mile to make sure the client is content with the deisgn of the project. He will work on your project until he gets it right. He is professional, responsible and diligent.. During construction of the house he comes out to the project to make sure the house is being constructed according to the plans. He always takes your phone calls and spends as much time as you need if you have a question that you need answered. I would highly recommend Mr .Benson and his team for your next project. You will enjoy working side by side with him.

Comment from Benson Design & Development Co.:

Thank you for Believing in ME!!!!! Your house was one of my first Custom home designs. I remember, I was just not able to get what you wanted based on the site requirements. You and your Wife were so close to letting me go. I said, please give me one last chance, I am confident that I will design you am amazing project. Knowing that I had to change up the design strategy to fit the site requirements I came up with a whole new design approach. I did not sleep until I got it right. Once I designed it I was very proud of myself knowing that you both would love it, AND YOU BOTH DID. To this day after designing many projects you were the one client who really tested me. There was no way I was going to fail, I am not built that way. I am so happy you Both loved your new Home and kept a relationship with me after so many years.

As the principal of a Design/Build Construction Company that builds luxury single family homes in Southern California, I have enjoyed an 18 year business relationship with Benson Design + Development. In assisting us with Construction Documentation on our more complicated projects, Benson is by far the most professional, detailed organization we have worked with to date. Notable are the genuine compliments we receive from both subcontractors and municipalities on the quality of our documents. This becomes a huge back office advantage for the success of my company in terms of executing a project and providing a quality product to the client. Notable is that Benson meets deadlines. A rarity in my business.

Comment from Benson Design & Development Co.:

Thank you for our 18 year relationship. Your have been one of the kindest and most talented Architect/ General Contractor/ Interior Designer I have worked with to date. Your attention to detail and appreciation for quality detailed drawings, are so appreciated by me. Many Builders and Interior Designers in this business do not appreciate or understand the importance of the level of work that I have given you. That is why you are hired by the Uber rich because if your unsurpassed quality and professionalism. Your projects are flawless because the time you take to plan, design and execute every detail. I look forward to many more years working together.

I would highly recommend Derrek as an architect. He is not only a nice person and easy to work with, but he clearly has creativity, vision and finesse. I think he offers more than a typical architect with his fine eye for detail and strong aesthetic sense so he not only draws on his professional expertise but other talents as well. Any project is more enhanced and beautiful is Derrek is the architect behind it.
