It took us considerable time to select the right Architects to build our dream home at the beach. There are many options for architects in our area however Bishop and Smith was the right choice for us. The team at Bishop and Smith is easy to work with and truly listened to our ideas throughout the development process. Their designs are well thought out and innovative. The attention to detail and significant experience building beach homes resulted in the perfect family retreat in Avalon. It was a pleasure working with the entire Bishop and Smith team.

As a custom new home builder/developer, our company has been working with Bishop & Smith architects for almost a decade (since 2011), on dozens of various homes/projects. Everyone we have ever dealt with inside the company has always been professional, knowledgeable, and a pleasure to work with. They turn around our work in a timely fashion, think about what they're doing when working on revisions, and ask relevant questions as to help us cut down on unnecessary building material costs where possible. Their website has a public search option showcasing many of the floorplans they offer, which is extremely valuable when dealing with clients that want something specific, or when we're actively looking for a new product ourselves, it's a very helpful feature. Highly recommended!

On my most recent projects I worked with Craig and it was another pleasurable experience. Both Scott and Craig were very knowledgeable and professional. We worked with Scott Bishop and his team on the plans for our new house built by Harbaugh Developers. From the first initial meeting through the approval of the final plans, Scott listened to our requests and created a plan to meet all our needs. Scott was patient, thoughtful, and creative. The whole process was a very good experience and the coordination with Harbaugh Developers was seamless. Could not be happier with the design of our new home.

Scott took the hand-drawn sketch I had placed on tablet paper and managed to create a blueprint for the home of our dreams. He paid close attention to detail to make sure we had the best flow and use of space throughout the entire footprint of the home. The unique design elements such as transom windows and extensive molding throughout the house are what set this company's work apart from the "cookie cutter designers". It was a pleasure working with Scott and his colleagues on this project. We look forward to moving into our gorgeous new home.

We hired Bishop and Smith for blue prints to rebuild our home in Avalon, NJ and couldn't have been more satisfied and pleased with our choice. Scott Bishop is professional, flexible and very knowledgeable about building coastal homes on the Jersey shore. We felt we were in competent hands during the entire process. Scott offered many useful suggestions and alternatives that truly make our new house our "dream home". We've received many compliments on the design and creative use of space. I am a Builder & I have been using Bishop & Smith Architects for my new homes & additions for about 12 years now & I am very satisfied with there services, They are very thorough with there plans which makes obtaining permits with out any delays. They are also reasonably priced & are able to give the added documentation that are sometimes required by code officials. They are also able to alter stock plans at a affordable.

I have worked with this architect for over 20 years, mainly because of the thoroughness of their plans and the exceptional service that I have come to expect. Its comforting to know that my clients will always be handled in a professional manner and the plans will exceed all expectations. However, from a custom builder's standpoint, the most important quality that I count on is their availability and service AFTER the plans are done and I have begun the process to construct the home. That is the difference between an online architect that simply sells plans and a local architect who sees it through the entire process. I highly recommend this firm for all of your architectural needs.

We are very pleased with the result of more than a year's work, starting with pen and paper and a discussion on what we needed in a home, reviewing and editing floor plans, getting to plot plans, elevation views, and ultimately a final set of plans. This was no easy task, considering we were building a new home post-Sandy, at the Jersey Shore, and with flood maps changing during the process, being in dual zoning districts, and with required building heights uncertain. But, finally, we are done (mostly!) Scott, Jack and Bill were all great to deal with, they listened to our needs and wants, and helped us make decisions on the trade-offs you always need to consider when space is limited on the lot and you have a long list of needs and wants. The style of the house is a cape cod, the architectural detail is outstanding and it fits well into the existing neighborhood which is situated one block from the start of the historic district here in Ocean City. Ultimately, we love the house and get compliments on it every single day from strangers walking past and from family and friends who are visiting. So many people have asked us if they can have a tour. Thanks Scott, Jack and Bill for everything.
