We partnered with Tas for a full interior remodel, including kitchen/pantry and bathrooms. We worked together remotely and in person. We really appreciated her strong design abilities along with her architecture background. While reviewing and executing plans, our GC and subs all commented on how good our designer was. And we believe it - Tas really excels at what she does. She was thoughtful in considering how we would be using each space, presented functional and beautiful timeless ideas, and helped us source materials and finishes within our budget. She also tapped into her network to quickly identify some great GC, subs, trades, vendors. Additionally, since we were managing our project remotely, Tas was great to have locally on the ground. She project managed much of the construction phase of our remodel, worked with suppliers to source materials, and generally was accessible for all decisions big and small. We felt well supported by Tas throughout our project - we could always reach her when we needed to and it always felt like she was just as committed to our project’s success as if she were the owner. We are beyond thrilled with how our home has turned out, it is beyond what we could have imagined. Would not hesitate to work with Tas all over again on this project or for future projects. Tas is beyond incredible. We tried to do our home remodel ourself but decided to consult with Tas on one aspect of our project. We soon after hired her to do our whole house. Tas saved us from many bad decisions. She can see colors, rooms, layouts, furniture, etc in her head. More importantly, she's a joy to work with. She has incredible patience. She will work with your budget and show you a number of options to fit your style and preference. We are convinced she works 2x the hours she actually bills for. She's out up with a lot of our indecisiveness and helped us get comfortable with big decisions. She's always available and an incredible communicator. She does things beyond the scope of her design work including helping find contractors and helping you think through how your decisions fit with your lifestyle. She has a personal touch that's unique. She meticulously prepares her presentations. When going through tile selection, she had samples, floor layouts, pictures, matching paint colors, and renderings on her iPad. Finally, she's an architect by trade so knows what is and isn't possible in terms of construction. She is also incredibly imaginative and willing to try new things and ideas. She's contantly in touch with new developments in the trade and finds inspiration from a number of places. She's just incredible and we can't recommend her enough.

Tasneem is a truly talented designer and is always a pleasure to work with. I have worked with her on a variety of design projects and she always goes above and beyond. She is patient, extremely knowledgeable, reasonable, and works with your budget while sourcing high quality materials and products. She is great at working on projects in-person or remotely. Tasneem is extremely skilled at working with your style while helping you update your look according to what's on trend. She has saved us from making a lot of costly mistakes and has made our design dreams come true! I'm so excited to work with Blue Canopy Design on more projects in the future!

Tasneem did an outstanding job designing a new fireplace facade for our family room. The original fireplace was a traditional heavy brick style that did not allow us to arrange the sofas conveniently. She helped design a modern look for the fireplace and provided detailed drawings that were extremely helpful for the contractor. Tasneem also helped us pick out the furnishings for the family room and assisted in customer service issues that we had with Interior Define ( a furniture company). The new fireplace is sleek and everyone that comes into the room can't help but comment on how wonderful it looks! We just love sitting in our family room and now the open concept layout of the room is perfect for family gatherings!

We had the pleasure of working with Tasneem as an e-design project for our basement, fireplace renovation and family room. Tasneem is a wonderful architect and interior designer. Her attention to detail, patience and ability to offer solutions makes her a rising star in interior design. For our basement, she was able to help us conceptualize a space for entertaining large gatherings in the style we wanted. There were some major layout issues for the basement half bath but Tasneem was able to figure out a modern and unique design (all through email, phone and photos). Now that's the bathroom that our guests wants to take selfies in! The fireplace was another daunting task. We had a huge brick fireplace that hindered the flow of our small family room. We wanted a clean contemporary fireplace with the tv hung over the fireplace. We are thrilled with the results because it's a design we would never have thought of. Thank you Tasneem! The basement and family room are both areas where we always love spending time in!

Tas is so great to work with. She is practical, professional and flexible. She has helped refine our style and created a very livable and beautiful space.

Blue canopy design was recommended to me by a colleague. It took me some time to contact her because of my own fear of loosing control and cost getting out of hand. Looking back, I am glad I asked for her help. Originally I planned to do our family room only but ended up doing almost the whole first floor of our home with her. Tasneem has a keen eye for detail, exceptional observation and great imagination. She will not miss a single non functioning bulb among hundreds in a chandelier. I am impressed by her sense of scale/ dimension and how much information she can extract from a single shabby, crooked mobile phone taken picture. She does not compromise on the end product, no matter how many times the project needs to be redone. I love how aesthetically beautiful the end product is while being simple, clean and comfortable at the same time. She opened a whole new world of color and texture to us and we also learned a lot from her :) She is in constant contact with you to answer your questions and guide you throughout the project which was very helpful for a control freak like me. In the end she was not only easy to work with but was also sensitive and thoughtful of my time and money. I would highly recommend her and would love to work with her again and again.

Working with Tasneem Saeed of Blue Canopy Design is a delight. Tas' talent shines in the outcome of her project, but also in the process of her work, through her warmth, consideration, and resourcefulness for her client. We needed help redecorating our living room within a reasonable budget while desperately wanting a beautiful, contemporary, and comfortable result. Tas sourced for us gorgeous furniture, a custom designed area rug, window treatments, as well as selecting a fresh new wall color, all in or under our budget. From designer items she found on sale, to fabricators whose products were well under the prices we would have spent at large brand name companies, she fulfilled our every wish. Tas found us luxe fabrics, high quality vendors, and created an elegant room that we could afford. We are proud to welcome guests into our home and we, ourselves, enjoy our new room every day.

We have loved working with Tasneem! She made the entire process of room renovation easy and comfortable for us. We love her design ideas and attention to all the details that bring a beautiful room together. People who see the room are extremely impressed and we have Tasneem to thank for the "wow" factor! I can't say enough wonderful things about working with Tas at Blue Canopy Design. We utilized Tas's services in many areas of our home, from decorating our entryway, master bedroom, home office, and kid's bedroom, to renovating and decorating our living room. Tas was organized, professional, and transparent throughout the entire decorating process. She was always mindful of our timeline and budget. She has a keen eye for classic yet contemporary design. I never truly understood the value of working with a designer until I worked with Tas. I don't think I will ever go back to trying to design a room myself, or with anyone else. I wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone, and can't wait until we start our next project with her!

I originally met Tas over three years ago (Fall 2012) when she helped design the perfect gender neutral nursery for our first born. It was exactly what I pictured- warm and serene and Tas was totally knowledgeable and experienced with helping us choose safe/ non-toxic items (I did a ton of research on keeping the home green, but she had some vendor recommendations I would have never come across). When we bought a house in the burbs two years later (Dec 2014) I contacted Tas before we even closed on the home! She helped design almost every room in the house- even picking out every single wall color. ALL REMOTELY! Guests can literally not believe it when I tell them. We get compliments on our home design ALL THE TIME. Tas is very respectful of budgets and always seems to get the exact vibe/ mood I was looking for (even with my un-artful and vague/ indecisive directions). She also takes so much pride in her work that she is always available for follow up questions and opinions long after a job was technically completed. Even my husband (who never really worked directly with her and doesn't tend to have a lot of opinions on these matters) sings her praises all the time. We have both referred her to several friends, as people really do compliment our home frequently. We will absolutely work with her in the future!

Tas designed our condo's living room, dining area, and playroom. We are thrilled with how everything has turned out. I was especially impressed by how she was able to take my vague ideas and handful of inspiration photos and turn them into design plans that we absolutely loved. She perfectly understood our tastes, and I appreciated her attention to detail throughout the design process. Tas was always responsive to my questions; and she made sure the design plans addressed all of our specific requests (e.g., a standing workstation; a gallery wall; a reading nook for our children) and space constraints. She often offered two options for the major purchases (e.g., the sofa), which I appreciated. She also kept closely to our budget, noting places where we could save versus splurge; in some cases we chose the more economical options, and in the instances where we splurged (e.g., the playroom's light fixture), we are glad we did. I also wanted to note her creative suggestion to paint and add handles to our existing entertainment unit; it completely changed the look of the room at minimal cost. What also struck me about the design process was how Tas could make selections that never would have occurred to me (e.g., our living room rug) but that turned out to be absolutely perfect. I often felt that she knew what we would like better than we knew what we would like! I highly recommend her.
