Stepping into a new project can be daunting and overwhelming. We have many ideas running through our heads and we wonder how all these little details will fit together. So before any new project, we reach out to our trusted designer Brian. He takes the time to understand what you are looking for, how you want your space to feel, and how it will be used. Brian is a staple in our household before we tackle any project large scale or small. He is a delight to work with and I refer him to all of our friends and neighbors!

Five or six years after moving into our new home my husband and I decided that several living areas were no longer working for us. We were ready for some changes and felt overwhelmed with all the decisions. We met with Brian, walked him through our home and discussed the rooms we were unhappy with and discussed our budget. Brian transformed our outdated unused dining room into an amazing French inspired lounge featuring a one of a kind bar cabinet and show stopper chandelier. A guest room with a hodgepodge of furnishings was fashioned into a cozy beach themed guest room and a much needed home office. Our odd shaped family room was updated with a plush, custom sectional sofa and ottoman that doubled our seating capacity. What we loved about working with Brian is he truly listens to your vision and makes it a reality while keeping the projects within your budget. Brian was very professional from start to finish and easy to work with. We are so happy with our newly decorated rooms.

We have worked with Brian for one major project and a few smaller projects over the past few years. His designs always align with our goals and he's able to add charm and cohesiveness we could not do on our own. For this project, we were doing a small internal remodel and a complete gut of our family room. Our family room/TV room looked like something from a college dorm with a hodgepodge of furniture purchased, outdated trim and light fixtures that did not match the reset of the house. We told Brian our goals and what we wanted featured and he designed a beautiful space for us. The Wanderlust Lounge is comfortable, calming, and showcases all of the pictures and treasures we have purchased on our travels. We will continue to use Brian on more projects throughout our home and have referred him to many friends.

After considering the work of several other designers, we lost hope in finding someone who would understand our prefences and bring our style to life. In a last-ditch effort and at our architect's recommendation, we had the good fortune to find Brian. He and Chris really listened to us - little ol' us! - and delivered something that is uniquely ours. Responsiveness; attention to detail; and the ability to look past What Is and see What Can Be - these splendid gifts are fully on display at the BIG REVEAL. 6 stars out of 5. We're eager to start our next project together.

Brian and Chris are an absolute pleasure to work with and we could not be more pleased with the transformation of our home. After moving into a house with several architectural styles I quickly became overwhelmed trying to put together a cohesive look. Within minutes of being in the house, Brian sorted out the different styles, came up with a plan to tie them together and had laid the groundwork for a total transformation of 6 unique spaces. After later seeing the detailed design plans he’d put together, we were stunned. In the short time he’d been in the house he had captured our personal styles and tastes and created a design that reflected everything we’d hoped for, yet was better than we ever imagined. He seamlessly worked existing furnishings and accessories into his design and while the spaces are completely redecorated, they are totally "us" and feel like home. Chris expertly took care of all of the details; the ordering, arranging contractors, deliveries and installs and kept us informed all along the way. We didn’t have to lift a finger. Brian promises to create the “space of your dreams” but what we he did for us went way beyond anything we could have dreamed of. I don't think I'll ever make a design decision without him again!

Brian designed the entire first floor of our new house and we love it! Dubbed "the bohemian farmhouse", he put together a design which was both beautiful and functional. Brian made considerable effort to learn our personal styles and incorporate unique elements into the design that makes it feel like our home - for example, my partner and I love biking and he incorporated some patterns and decorations that fit in this theme but were not overwhelming. Chris was also great to work with - he helped make the whole process go smoothly, from scheduling to delivery. A few other things that I really appreciated when we were were working with Brian and Chris - they were responsive (turned over our 3-room project in a very short period of time!), organized (they did all the logistics coordination), and of course the effort they put in to make our new house into our home! We also very much enjoyed the "personal styling" - Chris and Brian delivered all of our furnishings on one day and then took the time to dig through the decor we already owned (still in boxes at the time) and use our own things to make the space feel like our own. I'll never forget the feeling of walking into our house after the styling! We very much recommend Brian and Chris. Thanks, guys!

Last spring we had the extreme pleasure, good fortune and priviledge to work with the very gifted interior designer Brian H. Murray. From beginning to end, Brian expertly and patiently led us through our complete kitchen renovation and other home modifications project. We are thrilled with the results! After listening carefully to a description of what we wanted, Brian began to form a concept. In subsequent meetings he provided excellent visual representations of what the finished kitchen would look like. He helped us with selection of key elements such as cabinetry, tiles, colors and hardware. Brian deftly managed contractor and implementation issues, and continually demonstrated just how good he was at his job. His positive approach to all aspects of the project continually impressed us. Since completion of our construction, we have had many, many compliments on our beautiful home, but always especially those of our gorgeous kitchen. We are always proud to pass along and recommend our designer's name. Brian H Murray is a true professional. My husband and I did a complete downstairs design renovation. We had a general idea of what we wanted however we realized that we needed someone to put our ideas onto paper. Brian helped us think about the small details and how they fit into the larger picture. Brian takes his time to learn about you and your lifestyle. He listens to what your wants and needs are and makes your ideas come to life. Brian offers a classy and intelligent approach to remodeling our clients homes. Brian is a perfectionist , extremely creative, and works at the highest level of professionalism. He is a delight to work with and we are loving his transformation of our living space.. He did rugs, draperies, an exceptional gallery wall and a ledgestone fireplace surround for us. We couldn't have asked for a more talented, likeable person or one with more integrity and pride in his design work than Brian.

Brian did such a great job transforming our bathroom, bedroom and living room spaces. We were already started on our bathroom renovation when we hired Brian. We had an idea of what we wanted and he helped us to put it together and made suggestions we had not considered. Our bedroom and living room were start from scratch projects. I couldn't be happier with how those spaces turned out. He asked questions about how we used our spaces, our lifestyles, hobbies ,etc. He offered suggestions for areas that we were not looking to renovate but are items we can do on our own. He worked with us on our timeline as we had life events that had to be attended to. I hope he shares the living room photos when we get those taken.

Brian and Chris are wonderful to work with on any project. They pay attention to detail to ensure that each client has a unique piece in their home. The bar stools that we created for Brian H Murray Interior Design was a custom piece. We loved it so much that we introduced it into our current line of upholstery. As a interiors photographer, trying to capture a creative person's vision can be difficult to say the least. When you work with someone like Brian it becomes easy...he most definitely has a strong vision but is completely open to input, which is exactly what makes him such a great designer. Both he (and Chris) are professional, great people and lots of fun to work with.

Bryan assisted my family in setting up our new house in 2015. At this time, he was able to assemble a cohesive and fresh look using items we already had, in addition to selecting some beautiful new pieces for us that still give us so much enjoyment of our space. Along with style, Bryan keeps a strong focus on functionality, and is just generally a pleasure to work with. Highly recommended.

Brian was a huge help to us in planning our lower level space inside and outside. From the beginning, he brought enthusiasm, expertise and a new fresh look to our spaces. The outside space is an awkward long and narrow porch which became a cozy spot with two gathering areas featuring dark wicker pieces. Inside, he scaled the furniture down to fit the space, and kept us in a neutral but interesting palette: black and white plus warm brown leather and navy blue accents, with an echo of these colors in the outside space. Finally, Brian worked with our contractors to carve a full bath out of crawl space adjacent to the TV/Game room. Again, the colors and textures work with the adjacent room, but create their own vibe with floor tile that mimics wood, a freestanding painted wood vanity, a built-in cabinet for storage, and a glass enclosed shower with oversized subway tile. Classic with a twist: perfect for our taste and space. In addition, Brian transformed a kids' guest bath into a bright and coordinated spot which adjoins a room with two twin trundle beds. Starting with a very dated bathroom, he helped us choose granite to surround a new sink, painted the vanity and wood mirror, and removed the brass surround for the tub and replaced it with a shower curtain. With the addition of a bright rug and towels and new hardware, we have a new and updated look for a fraction of the cost of a complete redo. It was a pleasure to work with Brian and we heartily recommend you consult him for any home project.

Brian has helped me with redecorating and styling multiple rooms in my house in the past several years. He has a natural ability to understand and completely grasp an individual's style and produce a design that always hit's the mark, always. Brian has a remarkable ability to select paint colors and ensure that a home feels cohesive when moving from room to room. He is able to get context quickly and can make selections that have always met my requirements above and beyond be that a quick room make-over or a complete overhaul. Most recently, Brian has helped us restyle our banquette area and it has turned out beautifully. The space is now complete, restful and practical for our family use. In addition, he has helped us completely make-over our daughters room and it too is amazing - now her room makes our master look dull and has me itching to do something in that space too. In the new year, we plan to have Brian help us with the office space, son's bedroom and perhaps our master. Brian is flexible, accommodating and in addition to his outstanding design talent, he is a really nice guy who is respectful, professional and hard working.

Brian chose my house paint color and it looks just as I imagined it. When I had an unfortunate furniture experience, Brian guided me through the return and helped me choose the perfect replacement. I enlist Brian’s help on any medium to large decision or purchase and have always appreciated how he offers fresh vision and insight. He designed a gallery wall that takes my breath away everyday . When I moved he arranged the bookshelf for me and it is perfect. He has a way of suggesting just the freshness the house needs.

Brian came to our new "older" home that needed updating. He brought paint colors and his suggestions for kitchen renovations were perfect. It's all finished now and we are enjoying his expertise. Thanks Bryan.

I always felt that I was decently savvy when it came to decorating my home and that paying for a designer was unneeded and I was not fancy enough to have one anyway! I mean I watched HGTV so I could do it alone right? However we purchased a home on a lot we loved but had an interior that did not match our tastes. In addition there were some layout concerns: 1) the bedrooms were on the 2nd floor and the laundry room was on the 1st floor 2) we wanted a larger master closet. Initially paying for a consultation scared me "what if we didn't clic and I just wasted money?!". As time went on and the overwhelming decisions of paint, flooring, tile, moving walls, and finding contractors pushed me to take the leap to hire a designer. I met with 3 designers but I immediately hit it off with Brian, I liked his confidence and professionalism. He came prepared knowing my tastes from our previous home MLS listing I had emailed him, had paint samples, and resolutions to concerns we had with our newly purchased home. I was very excited to receive a "Design Plan" from Brian not long after I hired him that included pictures of paint, light fixtures, and floor plan designs! Words can not express how pleased I am with Brian's work on our home! He has an amazing ability with spatial planning, his design was so creative and met our needs perfectly. I was also adamant about keeping on budget (coming from a finance background) and wanted to handle any admin tasks using Brian solely for his design talents. He did not push back on this request and had me working on budget spreadsheets and planning immediately. Once if full remodeling phase I wanted to ignore budget on some purchases, he gave me gentle pushback and guidance to keep on plan. Overall I loved working with Brian! We now have a lot we love AND are loving the interior even more than the lot, we never thought that would be the case! Thank you Brian!

Brian is great. I had previously worked with another designer and she kept pushing her style on me and it just didn't work well. I could not tell you what Brian's personal style is as he gave me recommendations based on MY style and tastes. I picked Brian based on his Houzz reviews and project photo's. I initially planned to just do a consultation to get some idea's on my kitchen remodel and decorating different rooms in my house. I was so impressed with the idea's, I asked him to do a layout for me which was so helpful. I was a little nervous about picking out my new kitchen counter and backsplash, but Brian made it easy. He met me at Stonetop and helped me pick the perfect countertop and sink. Then we met at the Tile shop where we picked the backsplash. It was extremely helpful to have someone as talented as Brian help with these decisions as he pointed out things I had not thought of and made sure everything matched perfectly (color and style). My kitchen looks wonderful. I am in the process of making the changes to the living room that he suggested. I have a place above my fireplace for a tv that has beautiful molding around it. However, my tv is too big and I could not figure out how to decorate it without covering the molding. Brian suggested a fake wall that I could hang a picture. It is a perfect solution that none of my friends or I came up with. Decorating and remodeling a home is not cheap, so it is important to do it right the first time. Hiring Brian has saved me time and money by getting it right. He is great to work with and is very talented. I highly recommend him.

I totally enjoyed meeting Brian and having him work through a decorating scheme for my home. He was easy to talk to and communicate with. I loved his ideas! My goal was for Brian to provide a plan for me to implement over the next year to get my house ready to be sold. He was very helpful and understood exactly what needed to be done. His ideas were practical and resourceful. I would definitely use his services in the future.

Brian is great. He has helped us with two homes and we are extremely pleased with both. Brian has a knack for finding out what you like and what you don't like, then designing a room that is all yours. He is equally good at working with existing pieces bringing a room up to date or starting from scratch. We sold the first home that Brian decorated for us and were told by our realtor that the way it was decorated helped us get top dollar. We moved out of the area and Brian was able to help us through videos, photos, floor plans, emails, and phone calls. He designed our sun room and that has become our favorite room in the house,

Our home was newly built in 2014 and was a blank slate inside up until early 2016 when we began our transformation project. We had started work on a few rooms before Brian joined the effort. He came in and helped make several decisions which kept us on the right track and avoid costly mistakes. The house is coming together nicely and is unrecognizable when compared to where it was just a year ago thanks to Brian's help. We still have a ways to go but am happy to know we have him to lean on when we need advice.

We were looking to do some work on some minor updates to our kitchen as well as to our current flooring. Upon Brian's arrival he immediately started sharing great ideas about how to both maximize our space and have a better overall design by moving pieces of furniture around.... Which produced immediate results!! Then we talked about flooring and our kitchen. He listened to our concerns and desires for the space and was able to work up a great design plan with sketches, images and samples to then share with us about how to best improve our space in the price range we were wanting to be. He gave us different possibilities as well depending upon how much we wanted to spend. Great ideas! We are now working to implement them and are very excited about the end results.

I hijacked Brian on an AZ visit. We have AZ style in our home, past 14 years. He was able to come in give wonderful ideas with the decor, art, etc, we already have. We were looking for dining rug, and chandelier. Scale, and color spot on, could not be happier! Plus the other ideas he gave me, I'm excited to implement. He was incredibly prompt on my many, emails/questions. Pricing more than fair. His professionalism is impressive, designing, ordering, to ease in payment.

Brian helped us design our bar/media room, our great room and our patio. He took our ideas and existing pieces made them into a cohesive design. I never would have been able to pick out some of the things he chose without his expertise. We couldn't be happier with the finished design! Pictures to come later!!

Brian developed a plan to create an open living area from a separate kitchen and den. The plan included a custom transom window built by a local North Carolina vendor. Because of Brian's recommendations, we chose quartz countertops instead of granite and matching glass backsplash. The Quartz was definitely the right choice for us and is beautiful. As well as very easy to maintain. With the new appliances and the space created from opening the wall between the den and kitchen, our renovation was a huge success.

Brian has this incredible gift of talent and vision for design. This project included lighting, flooring, painting, window treatments and furniture. He transformed every room in our home. He is very professional, but make you feel so at ease. Working with Brian on this project was the best experience. We just love our Farmhouse!!!!
