Zaretsky and Associates is the best landscaping company I have ever used. He really listened to what we wanted and had an immediate sense of how our ideas would fit into our surrounding property. Bruce's knowledge of plants is impressive; not only plants that are regionally specific, but what plants will grown in certain lighting conditions. He answered his phone calls, texts and emails in a timely fashion. He was willing to make any adjustments we requested. The crew that work with him showed up on time, respected our home and property and cleaned up when they were finished for the day. I had four estimates for a large landscaping project and Bruce came through with detailed plans as well as plant types (with pictures of the species) that would grow in our challenging sun conditions. Once I met with him I immediately know that he was the right person for our job. I would highly recommend his company for work at your home.

My gardens are beautiful and Zaretsky's do an amazing job maintaining them every year. Sharon's design was brilliant that I have something new blooming every week all summer long. I would not consider using anyone else as they are truly the best in the business.

In summer 2013, we began working with Bruce Zaretsky to create a comprehensive landscaping plan for our home, and to reconstruct the walkway and plantings around the front-side of our home. Zaretsky and Associates also added two walkway lights, two spotlights, and the electrical infrastructure needed to power them. All of this work was completed in late October of 2013 to our satisfaction; the job took about four days. During the planning process, Bruce met with us several times to discuss our preferences for plantings and hardscape, and to determine exactly what we intended our property to look like when complete. Given his expertise, we offered some general criteria and asked him to draw up a plan, which he did, and did well. Because the work was finished in October, some of the plantings had gone dormant for the fall. Given that circumstance and our concern about the effects of a harsh winter (which it was), we made sure that Bruce and his crew were willing and able to address any landscaping that did not weather the seasons well. So far this spring, he's returned to our home once to check on the lighting, and he indicated in the fall that he would be back again, once the plantings were well established in late spring, in order to make sure they were growing according to plan. Bruce and his crew were highly professional throughout the job. They set the new walkway in concrete to ensure that it would hold its shape; they reused plantings and pavers that we asked them to reuse and installed new ones to integrate with them; and they were cautious with set-up and clean-up. Bruce and his partner, Sharon, also responded to all of our e-mail and telephone questions quickly and courteously. While their price point was slightly higher than another landscaper from whom we sought an estimate, we believe the quality and customer service have been well worth it; and further, we support the work Zaretsky and Associates do through Project Scion, their program for turning abandoned properties in Rochester into public gardens and parks.

After using many good landscaping firms I was thrilled to find the best with Zaretsky and Associates. I was impressed upon seeing their work throughout yards in the area they created beautiful natural landscapes and even more impressed with the donated community work they had done for non-profits like the Humane Society to name one. But nothing compared to the professional yet fun experience coming up with landscape solutions for our own home. And once the work began everyone was so pleasant and experienced at doing the best job possible I loved having them here. The follow up with directions and a special spraying attachment for your hose just showed their commitment to making this a successful experience. When I mentioned in a mail that "a Rhody was sad" as it had not taken, it was replaced before the end of the week. I truly expected to have to mention this many times to maybe get some action based on my other experiences. We are so proud of our yard and so thankful that we have referred people to them and our friends have expressed their appreciation for the referral after they have worked with them. Out of over a dozen people I know I have never heard a negative thing about Zaretsky actually quite the opposite. I love working with them and have worked with them yearly for the past 5 years! They are the best of the best!

Zaretsky and Assoc. took a plain uninteresting suburban cape property and transformed it into a charming garden paradise for me. We have continued to add plantings and work with them for almost 10 years.They have planted trees, shrubs and perennials. Bruce and his crews do a fine job handling the plants with care and they clean up well on completing the job. They have been professional, very friendly and helpful in advising me on continuing care of the plants and trees. I am a gardener and Bruce has incorporated my ideas working with me, not just insisting on a set plan. Bruce and Sharon are knowledgeable, honest, reliable, and caring people. It is delightful to work with them.

This house is the 3rd that Zaretsky & Assoc. has landscaped for us and the results are gorgeous. Bruce and Sharon respected my input (great listening skills!) and helped enlarge my ideas with their expert knowledge of the growing conditions in my yard. They knew that I was under the gun, planning for a family reunion, and everything was in place with time to spare! And now, each season, I look forward to watching new blooms and colors. Bruce Zarestsky, of Zarestsky and Associates, created the perfect design for our mid century modern home and it is stunning! His team of friendly and competent staff made our dreams come true! All of our numerous ideas were welcome and respected as he guided us to the final product! We will hire him again for any further work we do; the problem with that scenario is that he has become so popular the waiting time is over 1 year. His company has become highly regarded in the community for his community involvement, and the beautification of the hundreds of home landscapes he has been commissioned to design. His work is proficient in all styles and all genres. The Strong Museum, rated number one amongst children's museum in the country, hired him to create the heavenly Butterfly Garden for them.

Zaretsky designed and installed a woodland with a water feature for my yard in Rochester, NY. The water feature included a stream, short waterfall and deep pond. The pump requires constant attention and has required replacement twice. The liner has floated more than once. The worse result was the loss of three hemlocks within the first season. Bruce agreed that the hemlocks had established themselves and taken root. He could not explain their loss, but would not honor his guarantee. As I had never lost any major tree or shrub I had ever had installed in my yard, I thought their loss was due to the fact that they were placed in berms and installed under stress too late in the season (October). I had to take Bruce to court to force him to pay for the replacement of the trees. I thought his attitude was very unprofessional.
