    Yes, It's simple rope lighting, although we have recently started using LED ribbon lighting too. It's much more energy efficient. Regular rope lighting can use a lot of amps.

    Thank you for a lighting idea for my wheelchair ramp. Don't like fully lit up because of light pollution here in the country and this with LED's would give me enough to traverse at night time.

    I agree. This is a great way to light a deck without infringing on dark skies. It's easy to do. And it looks pretty cool too.

    Since you are the architects, could I ask where I might be able to purchase LEDs like those you used and are they hard wired or could they possibly be solar powered?

    Could you tell me the material that you used for the bottom rail? Did you router out a notch to hold the lights? How did you attach the lights? And lastly, did you drill through the posts to continue the lighting through each section of the railing?
