About Us

At Cabelis Interior Design, our design philosophy is to bring a fresh look to classic design forms in a way that is personal to our clients. We believe the importance of good design cannot be understated. The way an interior space is fashioned can impact the way we act and feel. Our goal is understand what your functional needs and personal styles are, and then work with you to develop a fresh and livable design that maximizes your enjoyment in your space. Often clients know what they want but don't know how to realize their vision. Others just want to put their trust in an expert to deliver a beautiful space. Our greatest asset is translating your wishes into a space that is timeless and elegant and right for you. We will never give you a cookie-cutter design. We understand that each of our clients is unique and with our help, your space will reflect your personal tastes. Sandy has been in the industry more than 10 years, with most of her work dedicated to upscale residential design. She has been able to cultivate relationships with quality craftsmen and tradespeople who help her deliver beautiful custom spaces. Before earning her degree in Interior Design from Berkeley College, she earned an MBA and had a career in business management for several large corporations. Sandy uses her corporate expertise and education to enhance her design business by planning, budgeting and negotiating on behalf of her clients. Her role as designer and advocate will ensure a successful, smooth design project in all aspects. Sandy has been an active member in the New Jersey Chapter of ASID since the beginning of her career. She is currently serving her second term on the Board of Directors.

Sandy came into my home and helped me with the complete redecorating of my kitchen. She helped me pick the right colors to complement the rest of my downstairs living space. She met with me to pick tile for the floor and backsplash. She was my "go-to" girl for any and all designing questions. Sandy is highly knowledgeable and is great at thinking outside the box. I look forward to working with her on my next home project!

I've had a great experience working with Sandy from Cabelis Interior Design. My project started out as a kitchen renovation that grew into a total tear down of the first floor. It included removing walls, refacing a fireplace, changing window size, updating a stairwell and adding a storage closet. Other designers that visited my home were not inspired by the original layout. When Sandy came in, she was immediately filled with ideas that were new and exciting. Most important, she was able to understand what I wanted to have as an end results. Renovating a home is a difficult process even when a couple has the same design perspective. In my case, progress was stopped several times because my husband and I weren't in agreement on which direction to go. Sandy was very patient with us and was always able to come up with an idea that made us both happy. Being just a call or text away made the whole process very convenient. I know it may sound silly but I'm someone who REALLY loves and appreciates beautiful things. She never disappointed me with her selection of colors, fabrics and furniture etc. Without a doubt, Sandy has it all: Talent, Vision and Personality.

We hired Cabelis Interior Design to consult on all facets of the new construction for our home. This included stucco color, door selection, exterior and interior lighting, floor stain color, kitchen design, build out designs and interior paint color. It is 18 months later and we are still using Cabelis Design to assist us in furnishing our home. Sandy has been instrumental in finding rare, one of a a kind fabrics and furniture pieces. She is spot on with bringing us samples of exactly what we need while maintaining the theme of our home throughout. She is creative and is willing to think outside the box. We love the end result of our home. We couldn't be happier with Cabelis Interior Design and we highly recommend Sandy. She is such a great talent. You will be lucky to have her!

We couldn't have ended up with the wonderful living space we now have without the help of Sandy Cabilis! Our kitchen, laundry room and powder room needed more than just updating. Our family of five needed a space that was more functional and catered to our daily lives. Sandy asked the right questions and helped us turn our living space into a truly beautiful, functionally enjoyable place to live!! Sandy sourced everything; from cabinets to light fixtures, flooring to backsplash. She would do the time-consuming legwork and narrow the unlimited, overwhelming choices to a more manageable variety. From the beginning, if I was unsure about a decision, Sandy would reassure me and say " I can see your kitchen as it will look when it's done." and she could...she has that vision. And now, I can see it too! I look around every day and am so thankful to have had Sandy Cabelis's help on this project.

Commented: Wall Papering over a orange peel textured painted wallsIt also depends on the thickness and substrate of the paper. A thicker, textured paper will hide more. You will definitely get better results if you skim coat and/or sand the walls first.
