Need help pulling your space together? If so, that’s what I do, you’re in the right place. Be it for your home or business, I’d like to get to know you and help you with your interior design needs. Are we a good match? Well, let me tell you a bit about myself and then you can decide... Formal Training - While I was born with a penchant for design, I’ve learned so much while pursuing my MA in Interior Architecture and Design. From color theory, lighting design and sacred geometry to preparing floor plans and creating 3D renderings, I have a wealth of design knowledge and skills to draw upon. Sustainability & Wellness - I’m passionate about creating healthy spaces for people and planet. This can manifest itself in a myriad of ways depending on the project and you. But, I value: ⁃ connecting people with nature ⁃ supporting local businesses ⁃ using furnishings and materials that are reclaimed, reused, recycled and/or rapidly renewable ⁃ using non-toxic and safe materials ⁃ conserving water and energy ⁃ improving indoor air quality Craftsmanship and Customization - I prefer pieces made by artists and craftsmen over mass produced goods. Whether it’s the pottery mug I sip my green tea out of every morning or a custom cabinet or table designed for a client, there’s an individuality and humanistic quality to artist-made pieces. And, often spaces require custom solutions to maximize their potential. I have a network of talented woodworkers, metalworkers, upholsterers, and furniture makers to help us realize our design visions. Simplicity - While I appreciate and work with a wide range of design styles, warm modernism is the best way I can describe my personal style. I prefer spaces that are clean and uncluttered. As Da Vinci said, “Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.” Heart - I really want to get at the heart of what my clients want. And, I put my heart into every project. It’s always a collaboration. We used Carrie Moore Interior Design to help with an extensive interior and exterior renovation of our 100-year-old house. They did an absolutely amazing job modernizing the space while still maintaining a comfortable and historic feel. Carrie and her team are incredibly talented and creative. They were able to create a cohesive space with an overall design that is unique, warm, and modern. The team was a dream to work with throughout the entire process. The renovation has exceeded our expectations, and we look forward to enjoying our home for many, many years.

Carrie is the CONSUMMATE Interior Designer! I had the delight of partnering with Carrie over a 2 year period to envision, design and furnish my new downtown Durham mid century condo in Church+Main. She made every step in the process illuminating and fun - taking me multiple times to High Point Furniture Market, introducing me to top of the line crafts persons and artists who designed, created and installed custom furnishings, installations and accessories. Carrie's marvelous gifts for unique creative expression, precision, scale, color and texture were instilled in every decision. The cumulative results are amazing and documented in the cover feature of March 2016 Durham Magazine. Nearly 5 years later, I am loving the timeless contemporary vitality and livability of my downtown digs. Carrie respects and operates within agreed upon budgets and deadlines. I'd hire Carrie again in a heartbeat.

We've done several projects with Carrie and love the results. The first project was the remodel of the first floor of our house; including the kitchen, living room, and master bath. Carrie came up with unique ideas that really makes it feel special and matches the look we wanted. We had a last minute pivot to a different GC and Carrie was instrumental in helping us through the stress. She really listened to our ideas and transformed them to reality. We gave her a real challenge with our second project; new exterior paint colors as one of us wanted something unusual and one of us wanted traditional. She came up with something that pleases both of us! Our final project was a remodel to the basement, including kitchen and bath. On this one, we were on a more restricted budget. Carrie was happy to help on an as needed basis to accomplish our goals. Having worked with a number of design professionals in the past, two things we look for are designs that include ideas and touches that we simply would never have thought of and second, designs that look and perform as well over time as they do new. Carrie's designs do both. She's is very easy to work with, organized, professional, and fun. Definitely recommend.

Carrie was wonderful to work with, and we have thoroughly enjoyed the space she created for our family. Carrie is incredibly creative and brought so many impressive and contemporary ideas. I loved that she made our rooms unique to us but also blended with the age and style of our house. She was also to take some problematic spaces and make them look comfortable and finished. Carrie was very professional and responsive, and I would use her again for my next project.

My husband and I hired Carrie, Grayson and Dan a year ago to redo our living areas. We were so happy with their work that we asked them back to re-design our master bathroom. A contractor is completing the work now, but we love the natural tiles and stone work that they chose along with modern, yet comfortable plumbing and lighting fixtures. Carrie and her team made the whole design process very easy. They listened to our ideas, then found amazing products. They are a honorable and talented team!

Carrie was a great partner to work with when coming up with a master design plan for our house. She helped me sort through many different ideas and helped me focus on what was most important through a phased in approach. We started with the mud room which was critical to help declutter the house and the entrance area. The spaces came about both beautiful and amazingly functional. The color palette for the house has all come together from the outside into the inside and it feels amazing. I just wish I had a bigger budget to complete more rooms. I am off to a great start and look forward to working with Carrie to finish my living room and bedroom. Carrie has an amazing eye and knows where to find great quality selections. I highly recommend her services.

Carrie provided an excellent color consultation for an exterior paint job on our home. It was fabulous to work with her! She was very organized and came well prepared. She had even set up a Pinterest board with pictures of similar mid century modern homes and possible color schemes. She put me right at ease and made the task fun. Choosing our colors seemed so overwhelming to me knowing we'd be looking at the colors for a long time. I would have obsessed for hours about the decision on my own. But with Carrie's help, we narrowed the field quickly and she helped me make the right decision for us. I'm so happy with our choices - I get thrilled pulling in our driveway and seeing our home every time. Thanks, Carrie!

My wife and I love working with Carrie. We hired her to help us with an open living/dining room and kitchen, and were thrilled with the results. The space is open, elegant, but not too formal, and suits how we feel and live perfectly. It blends modern and traditional styles in a way that really reflects our taste. We've since hired Carrie to help us with another space in our apartment. Choosing to work with Carrie again was an easy decision to make. What makes Carrie such a pleasure to work with is that she is really interested in your vision, not hers. Carrie collaborated with us to make our space. She is full of wonderfully creative ideas about color, texture, and feel, and she is great at pulling together new and existing elements to make a new space. For all her talents, Carrie has very little ego. She takes feedback really well, and learns from it, but she is also no pushover. Carrie also handles the nuts and bolts of the design process very well. She is well-organized and transparent about costs, and very prompt with payments and invoices. She handled all of the communications with vendors as well as unexpected emergencies. Finally, Carrie is just a delightful and pleasant person. She's fun and funny, and makes working on your space a real pleasure. We would recommend Carrie to anyone.

I worked with Carrie Moore to transform our master bedroom into a sanctuary. Her work originally caught my attention due to her years of experience in sustainable design and concern for health, wellness, and use of biophilic principles – a rare combination in residential interior design. After an initial visit to our house and thoughtful inquiry into our goals for the space, she provided a clear scope of work and estimate of her fees. The scope of work included a layout, idea board, color and product recommendations, and sourcing of products as needed. Carrie tuned into our aesthetic right away and gently challenged us to simplify the room to help accomplish our goals. She used some pieces that we already owned, found the art at an estate sale, ordered the bedding when it was on sale, and found a ‘look for less’ rug at a discount store. All of these efficiencies allowed us to invest in some designer lighting and in two custom bedside tables (that she designed) from a local metal artist. I especially appreciated that she seemed to have good relationships and good communication with all of the contractors that worked on the project – painters, window shade installer, metal artist, etc. This made the execution feel seamless. The project turned out beautifully - it is restful while being inspiring and highlights the nature outside our windows. We will work with Carrie again.
