CA LOFT

Im a General Contractor working out of Orange County and we had a chance to work with the designers and architects at TRUPLANS who did a great job creating the blueprints for an ADU on the second story of an existing home. The project had many complications and roadblocks but the head architect, Lorena, went out of her way to make sure everything was taken care of on their end. Designs were thorough and communication was top of the line. Hopefully we get the chance to tackle another project in the future.

We've done 5-6 large home projects since buying an out-of-date house 8 years ago. Our experience with CA LOFT was by far our most positive one. These guys do great work, are dependable and respectful, and are super easy to deal with. The guys doing the work own the company, which is a great change from dealing with often unaccountable subcontractors. First - should you add a loft to your house? Like many people in Southern California, we have a two-story house built in the '80s or '90s that opens to a high ceiling entryway and living room that spans both stories. The light is nice, but it's largely wasted space. Adding a loft (bedroom with bath in addition to an open kid's desk/play area) has been a great addition to our house. The added square feet increase the resale price far more than the cost of the project. It's given us a lot more space and allowed us to get a bigger house while staying in the neighborhood and schools we love with our old super-low mortgage rate and property taxes. Next - should you use CA LOFT for the project? Absolutely. They did great, honest work. They started when they promised and finished closed to estimates - only exceeding the time slightly to do a more thorough, quality job. They showed up on time every day. Amazingly, they cleaned up at the end of every day - even when the area was walled off by plastic. Our other contractors often left things in disarray, including leaving food and drinks everywhere, until the end of the project. When we needed a couple unanticipated pieces of additional work, they did it themselves for half the rates we were quoted by other parties. When we had one tiny issue with electrical wiring causing lights not to work after they'd moved on to their next client, Luis came to rectify the problem that morning. I forgot that we'd bought a couple fixtures ourselves that were, per the contract, to be purchased by CA LOFT. They made sure to remind me and took the allowances out of our final payment. Getting the permits took a long time and a couple revisions. Nonetheless, CA LOFT stayed communicative and on top of everything during that waiting period. On previous projects, we often had to call contractors multiple times to get updates. Cannot recommend more highly! We're gonna do our kitchen in a couple years, and I'm just sorry these guys don't do kitchens too. But they've developed economies of scale in this one special area, and you should take advantage of it.

CA Loft is an absolute magnificent GC to work with. From start to finish was super easy, smooth and incredibly convenient. The design meet and collaboration to plan submittal with the city was as smooth as you could possibly ask for. The build, impeccable and clean. Utilizing protective coverings for everything, zip walls and all to maintain livable area and working area is huge! They maintain a VERY well organized and clean working space DAILY. Very impressive! They were right on time as well, no delays as it's a dedicated crew for each project. All crew members are very respectful as well. Coming from my own GC background, I'm glad we went with CA Loft as it this project was completely stress free for myself. The only things I had to worry about were outlet placements and what extras I wanted! Thanks CA Loft!

While we saw a lot of great reviews about Caloft, we first contacted Caloft with caution just like with any other contractors, but we couldn't be happier in the end. Chris and his design team were quick to respond to all our questions professionally. Luis and Aaron of the construction team were not only friendly and considerate, but that they really treated us with respect and care throughout. Not only did they took great care of performing the work the right way and with quality material, but, to much our surprise, treated our place as their own such as taking great care of tidying up their material onsite at the end of each day, to wiping the floor during the final walk through. They really understand the project was a transition for our household, and that they are here to make the transition as smoothly as possible. We became good friends in the end and we gladly refer our friends to their service, because we trust that our friends would be well taken care of Caloft. They are flashy people, just honest and hardworking guys who wants to build last relationships, and we are glad to be a part of it.

We added a bedroom to our house above our existing vaulted living room. Simply put I will say Aaron and Luiz are hands down the best contractors I’ve ever worked with and their attention to detail is unmatched. Beyond that they are some of the nicest, most genuine people I’ve ever met! They specialize in these high ceiling conversions and it shows. A shout out to everyone else who we worked with at CalLoft as they are so professional and it was a pleasure working with them. Thank you again! Forever grateful.

Aaron and Luis are the best contractors/vendors that I have worked with since residing in San Diego. They are thorough, detailed-oriented, clean, respectful of your home, and care about your end goal for the project. I can’t stress enough how much I appreciated their approach and craftsmanship. My father spent years in the industry and watching them work the very first day gave me all the confidence that they were the best people for building out our second story. They kept me involved in the process and were always willing to engage about ideas, recommendations, and more. I would recommend them to anyone! Our project. We had a second story and wanted to add to it. We had 27-30 foot ceilings in our entry space. We wanted to expand the second story over that space adding an office/guest room, storage at low roof angle, and full bathroom. They did all that and more. They made it look so natural with the rest of the house. I am so grateful for them! Luis and Aaron are skilled, experienced, honest, and genuine people that made this large project a breeze!

We hired CA Loft to convert our slanted vaulted ceiling into a mini loft and a bedroom dormer. Build process It took about six months for them to obtain permits and start construction. CA Loft is made up of Aaron and Luis, and they are the nicest, cleanest, and hardest-working contractors I've ever worked with. Aaron, Luis and 2 other helpers, worked at my house Monday-Frid. Since we lived in the house during construction, they made sure to put up plastic to separate the living space from the construction area. If we needed to walk through the construction zone, they would stop working to let us pass safely. They specialize in loft additions and have been doing this for a long time, so they know exactly what materials to use and how the process works. My friends, family, and neighbors all raved at how well the addition looks and how quick it was built. The inspectors were equally impressed with the quality of their work. I highly recommend CA Loft!

Wow, we are so incredibly impressed with the work done by Aaron and Luis and the whole CA Loft team. We love our new addition so very much, it was done so well with impeccable craftsmanship, and extremely fast. Aaron and Luis are absolute pros and do an incredible job. The whole process was smooth and they were great to work with. Our only regret is that we didn't do it years ago :). We cannot recommend them enough. They are such awesome people and do their absolute best for you. They also left everything so clean, which I majorly appreciated. Thank you so much to the whole team, we are so happy and could not ask for more!

Aaron, Luis and their team were such a pleasure to have work on our high ceiling conversion! They were very punctual and communicative. They explained things in detail when I had questions and helped troubleshoot a couple things that had come up. I can't even tell you how clean they worked! Someone was always cleaning as they were working and left every day with not 1 thing out of place. They made sure our cats were safe overnight and on the weekends by temporarily covering any places they could get in to. Aaron and Luis were very respectful, kind and treated us and our home as if it were their own. I was amazed each day by how methodical and detailed they were in their work. It was a very intriguing process to watch being completed! I could keep going about how they were so great and I would definitely hire them again!

We hire CA LOFT to build a loft addition for us. They took care of the client from start to finish. We've used Aaron and Luis for years. On this project we once again are reminded how they are so complete in taking care of the customer. The construction is clean. This was even a complicated framing project, but they have the experience and expertise to get the job done properly. They were on time and on budget with us.
