We have been working with the CHR team on a remodel of a condo. While we are still at the demolition phase, all of our interactions have been nothing but positive. This is a team that really listens, and does everything with great care, careful planning, attention to details, cleanliness, and follows all building rules. We look forward to the construction phase, as the team is creative in their problem solving, and expect their attention to detail will lead to a beautiful remodel.

We recently finished a remodel of our home and could not be happier with the finished project. We needed more space upstairs to fit our family. We added a full rear dormer, a double dormer in the front and a new roof along with siding. CHR Design & Build was recommended to us by our architect. CHR is very reliable, extremely knowledgeable, kind and easy to work with. Maria & Christopher met with us often and were both extremely helpful and both excellent communicators. Both are very patient and took time to listen to what we wanted and they made our house better than we expected. Christopher even saved my dog from getting hit by a car as she wandered out the gate that we had left open. Maria did an incredible job of handling everything for us from the electric company (moved electric from above to below ground) to permits to managing the entire project including all permits They even took time to get to know our little kids! Their workers were diligent, on time and respectful and very good at what they do. They work quickly and efficiently. Take a look at our before and after photos. We are so thankful for the work they did. Their prices are very fair and the work is very good. The company is very professional and we HIGHLY recommend them.

I worked with CHR Design & Build on a master bathroom remodel. It was a complete gut and rebuild with access only from my bedroom. As difficult as a rehab like this is, Maria and Christopher made it the most pleasant experience. They're communication was on point every step of the way even as issues came up. Their contractors were respectful and excellent at their trade. The best part of the job was working with Christopher on the detailed work that needed to occur. He never assumed how I wanted the finished product to look and would always check-in with me to make sure. The end product is an AMAZING bathroom that we can relax in and enjoy for years to come. Maria and Christopher have become like family to us, and we truly enjoyed working with them.

I worked with CHR D&B team on several occasions and they always do outstanding job!! I knew from first visit to "measure" that CHR D&B had the knowledge and expertise to get this done right. ( just wish I had chance to work with them much earlier) I hope that CHR D&B customers understands what an asset they are, as they always complete the job. They took the time to be sure it was done right - measuring the cabinet, spaces & material; prepping the jobsite to be sure all is done properly; then carefully working towards project end. I dont think so, there is a real challenge they cannot take care of, and at the end the result are perfect.

CHR remodeled our bathroom for us. It turned out beautifully. Both Maria and Christopher were very attentive to details and timing of the entire project, which included material delivery delays, multiple sub-contractor scheduling, village inspections, and even household quarantining!! They were easy to work with, communicated effectively, and made sure payments and scheduling were explained at each step. While the project took a little longer than we had planned, we are so pleased with the outcome.

This business uses deceptive business practices and is rude and unprofessional. I have experienced lies, misrepresentations, incomplete work and an unwillingness to resolve conflict. My kitchen project took twice as long as projected and contractor offered no concessions or apologies for the delays, most of which were due to contractor's mistakes. Worse yet, they did not take responsibility for their errors, blamed me for them and charged me for their corrections. When I communicated my displeasure at the unjustified overcharges and requested a refund, their response was swift, rude and arrogant. Without attempting any resolution or compromise, I was told that I was absolutely NOT getting a refund and to contact a lawyer, knowing full well that it was impossible to sue them due to an arbitration clause buried in the contract that prevents customer from suing. The only available option forces customer to use very costly arbitration, which effectively prohibits any equitable recourse or resolution. They were more interested in squeezing every penny than customer satisfaction or goodwill. What should have been a pleasant experience in finally planning my dream kitchen has been tarnished by Contractor's rude and unprofessional conduct.

Cartage Home Remodelers is a cost effective company that does an excellent job of bidding jobs without after the fact surprises, and a complete explanation of the services they will offer. They have an entire crew of specialized employees to provide everything from getting permits to advising neighbors/management companies of schedule of work to be done. They are efficient, practice reasonable time management and clean up services as needed.

Maria and Christopher are fantastic to work with, we really enjoy partnering with them. They believe in the best for there clients and strive for perfection in all there jobs. Highly recommended.

Chris an Maria are the nicest guys you will ever meet , very professional , responsible and clean , the job site was spotless everyday, Chris is paying a lot of attention to all the small details and alway being on the lookout for anything that could go wrong on the job. If I could give this company zero stars I would- the owner's are rude and unprofessional. In all my years, I have never dealt with such unprofessionalism or rudeness from a contractor. I initially contacted the company about 2 years ago to do an estimate on my kitchen remodel. I realized it was a big project, but I was assured by the company that this was the type of project Cartage Home could do. When the couple came to my home, I felt right away that they did not know what they were doing. The husband mentioned having to talk to contractors to get more info on whether certain things could be done. They were not friendly or professional and it didn't feel right. Regardless, I never received an estimate from the company despite calling them to follow up. I didn't babysit the company to send an estimate because I did not like the owners and their rudeness when they visited my home. Fast forward 2 years, I receive an email from Maria at Cartage asking if I have any projects that needed to be done. Since it had been 2 years, I didn't even realize that I had tried working with them in the past, so I asked her if they did decks since my husband and I had just recently been talking about completing our deck project this spring. She asked me numerous questions via email and I replied. We went back and forth for several emails during the day and I answered all her question. She asked for my address and an estimate was to be completed. I didn't hear anything from the company about scheduling an appointment. I thought maybe they would come out to my home even if I wasn't home since the project was outside and didn't require access to the inside of my home. After a couple days, I called the company but no one answered. Then a week and a half later, I sent an email requesting whether the estimate was going to be sent. Again, no response. I realized after doing some research that this was the same company that had done an estimate on my kitchen years prior and they were not friendly or professional. 2 days after that email, I sent Maria an email letting her know I was disappointed with her unresponsiveness and unprofessionalism and that I would be sharing my negative experience because this was the second time she was wasting my time. She claimed that she sent me the estimate and "had proof" but I checked my emails again and all my estimates/paperwork from 2 years ago and confirmed I had nothing. I told her I would be writing this review anyway because the information I have provided here are facts and threatening people of lawsuits is not right. This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. I believe the owners to be unprofessional and they threaten any unhappy customers with lawsuits to scare them from sharing their experiences online. I wouldn't be surprised if they sued customers during/after a project and/or put liens on peoples homes- regardless, I wouldn't take any chances. I don't trust this company and they need to take a lesson on customer service. I will follow up if the company pursues legal action against me.

I have known Cartage Remodelers for many years and they are an honest business who always strives to provide excellent service. They are a company that gives back to their community, always participating in charitable events and looking out for the interest of others above their own.

The Cartage team completely remodeled our master bathroom! They tore out everything, designed a new layout to maximize our space, and installed a walk in steam shower with bench, pebble floor, glass tiles, multiple shower heads, and built ins, a separate soaking tub, moved our toilet, put in custom closet, new vanity, heated tile floor, and even moved our washer and dryer into the master bath as a late request. They were extremely flexible, and did great work! They have checked in with us to make sure all is still working ok and have come back to replace a couple of small cracked tiles in our shower. Very much appreciate their attention to detail, and we would be happy to hire them again. (Plan on adding before/after pictures as soon as I can get them uploaded)

Cartage Home Remodelers, Inc designed, crafted, and delivered an exquisite choir loft for our Parish! We needed an elevated step where children could stand and sing so their family members could see all faces in the group. We were more than pleased by the beauty and safety of the piece, since it was created for youth, as well as the timely manner in which the product was completed. Our winter concert was well-received. The loft, as well as the music, garnered a multitude of acclaims from our congregants. I highly recommend CHR, Inc for all your design and custom-build needs. Hired Cartage for a full bathroom remodel and it came out great. All flooring, walls, tub, shower, sink and toilet were replaced. They run a very professional operation and kept me in the loop at all times as to the status of the project. I wish all home contractors would operate with such efficiency. I really did not have to worry about anything on the project other than letting them into the home and approving the final product. I would recommend them to anyone I know who is looking for quality craftsmanship at a fair price.

I am not a client but I've had the pleasure of meeting and talking to Maria and Christopher on their visit to Los Angeles. I'm a contractor in Pasadena, CA and when they knew they were going to be visiting they reached out to me to get together. They were nothing but professional and excited about the remodeling business/industry. I always someone who's passionate about this industry because it brings a better remodeling experience to the table for their clients.

We hired Cartage in 2009 for a kitchen remodel and recently for repairs as a result of recent basement flooding. Our kitchen remodel was fantastic and made our smallish home much more livable, opening up the kitchen to the rest of the house. Chris also designed and built custom cabinets. In the basement, they installed a floating floor. They also performed concrete repairs outside the basement door. They patched a badly damaged stairwell and built up the area around a drain. There is a reason we hired Cartage again. Chris and Maria are excellent to work with. They approach their work very professionally and thoughtfully. They contribute excellent design ideas and match that with equally good craftsmanship.

We requested an extension of our bedroom to turn a lofted area into a complete wall to wall floor. As part of this work, a new master bathroom and closet were added, new flooring, paint, and tile where required. Chris and Maria were great with walking us through the process, suggesting and working with us to get the customizations we wanted, and managing the whole process with the highest quality. Two years later, we still love the end result and are planning our next project with them.
