Cherry Home Designs

In April 2025, we decided to convert an unused first floor mother in law suite into a three room primary bedroom, sitting room and bathroom suite to allow total one floor living in our two floor home. After interviewing three design firms, we hired Cherry Home Designs and their sister company Unique Concepts Building to design, and execute the demo and rebuild of these three rooms. Christine and Katie brought us many ideas for layout that they projected on our TV making it easy for us to envision what our three rooms could be. It did not take us long to choose a practical yet extremely attractive design. We then met with John and team on the construction side to discuss logistics of the buildout. Support beams were moved and two unused closets were turned into a specialized shoe and handbag closet (the first one) and the second was expanded to a large walk in closet with custom built ins for clothing and storage. The build followed Christine's and Katie's design precisely. Christine and Katie then brought us numerous creative ideas for furniture for the new bedroom (ie, bed, side tables, and cabinetry to serve as dressers, the new sitting room with comfortable furniture and a flat screen TV and a redesigned bathroom with two sinks set in an antique cabinet. Also a makeup table with mirror and custom lighting in the bathroom Paint ,wallcoverings and accessories were also suggested and displayed for us to choose as was the stonework and glasswork for the new shower. Finally, they gave us great fabric ideas for the window shades in all 3 rooms which are both motorized via a controller and voice controlled via home internet. The project took about 3.5 months and we were extremely happy with the outcome. We love using our new suite daily. Its easily now the nicest part of our home. We also used Cherry Home Design painters to paint our kitchen and family room and several hallways to modernize the look. Plus re-cushioning the existing dining chairs in the eat in kitchen and using the same fabric for a valance on the kitchen window. All in all an excellent experience that made our home more comfortable, more attractive and ultimately will increase the value on a future sale. From the moment Christine and her team walked into my house, I knew she was going to be the right woman for this job. My renovation required a designer with a strong appreciation and love for older homes and she 100% fit the bill! We found out early on that we had a very similar design sense and taste which made picking out wallpapers, fixtures, paint colors, etc...much easier than I had anticipated. We loved working with Cherry Home Designs and John and his team. They worked so hard, and demonstrated the patience, thoughtfulness and understanding that I had hoped for! They did such an amazing job with the renderings so that we were able to really see what the rooms were going to look like and as promised, all 3 rooms turned out absolutely gorgeous! They have the look and feel of a period home but with some more modern finishes and personal touches (winks and nods) and we could not be happier with how they turned out. I highly recommend Christine, Gabrielle, Katie, John and everyone who helped to transform these most important rooms into what are now my favorite rooms in the Casa!

Christine was beyond amazing. The finished house exceeds our wildest imaginations from the outset of our first conversations. The design fits what we wanted to accomplish - a house that not only fits our style but the lifestyle we want to have, that facilitates our having both a lovely place to live AND an orderly house not drowning in clutter. Christine and John listened to what we wanted to do, made great suggestions and recommendations and helped achieve the final project in our budget. In the middle of the project, my Mother-in-Law's battle with cancer came to a sad end. Just 2 weeks before, I had asked Christine if she could print out a copy of the designs on paper so we could show her. They not only printed them, they mounted them in beautiful picture frames that matched our color scheme and we were able to show my Mother-in-Law the way our house (which used to be her parent's house) the lovely designs. It means more than our family can share to have had caring people in the midst of the project, putting us and our emotions front and center. They even designed the space for our daughter and cats, thinking through all the details that mean we have a house that fits us to perfection. 5 stars is not a high enough rating!

Meeting Christine was the luckiest thing for me! She completely transformed a dated bookcase and huge antique mirror, making each piece modern and unique. But the real gift of working with Christine is her absolute passion for design, and ENDLESS energy and enthusiasm for her clients. She will work with you tirelessly to get the results you want, and I can’t wait for my next project with her!

We purchased three pieces of custom furniture that go very well with the glow of our house. The pieces were done very creatively and tie atmosphere of the entire house together. Christine has an eye for detail and never fails to impress.

Christine was a blast to work with. I’m not too adventurous with design so I needed help to get some personality into my traditional home that was still aesthetically pleasing. She totally got us and knocked it out of the park.
