CMI just completed a major remodel of our house in Fayetteville. I CANNOT SAY ENOUGH GOOD THINGS ABOUT THE ENTIRE TEAM! From the moment Melynie took our first phone call to the very last day on the job, we experienced nothing but pure professionalism from Brad and everyone he brought in. I have a great deal of experience with construction, both personally and professionally, and I have never had a better experience in any respect. They are honest, hardworking, reliable, and very competent. Our house turned out great because of them and they were a true joy to work with--the utmost in customer service. The very best!

We are currently working with CMI construction on an addition & remodel on a 90 year old home in the historic district of Fayetteville. Brad and his team of experts, Melynie, Blake, Joseph and the subs they work with have helped us solve the problems and challenges that come with a 90 year old home in Fayetteville’s historic district. They have not complained or wavered on the project challenges and goals. Every inspection has been passed first time. At this point they have demolished a 1960’s addition, excavated for a new sewer line and poured a pad getting us ready for framing. While the project has more work to go I wanted to recognize and appreciate the effort and expertise these guys bring.

We selected CMI to complete a master bedroom/bathroom remodel, and it was a terrible experience. I was so disappointed in the work, especially given all the positive reviews. CMI regularly used handymen instead of qualified subcontractors. They also said they couldn’t build our cabinets since they were custom specs, so we found another company that did a beautiful job. In this last year, we’ve had to fix crooked walls, pipes that leaked and led to mold, electrical issues (running from another room rather than the panel). They guarantee their work for a year, but I’m handling ourselves and just paying for it since I don’t trust CMI to do quality work. Darrell also frequently told me they were losing money on this job and they had much bigger remodels and new builds to work on. I would suggest looking somewhere else for a good contractor.

TOP NOTCH COMPANY! I normally do not write reviews, but CMI went above and beyond on our backyard project. Their communication is superior and that is hard to come by. Their quality of work and attention to detail is fabulous. They show up when they are supposed to and again that is hard to come by here lately. They exceeded my expectations. I will for sure use them again for future projects. I cant say enough good things about Brad and his subcontractors. If you want a dependable, reliable, honest, caring, quality company...use CMI!

CMI was recommended to me by a friend after my husband and I decided to remodel our kitchen and master bathroom. I had collected pictures of things that I wanted in the remodel but wasn’t sure they could be accomplished or if they would look good together. After meeting with several companies, we felt CMI was the best fit for us. They took our vision and gave us a beautiful new open concept kitchen, dining and great room. Our master bath has a huge new shower and all the storage we could ever need. CMI’s team was able to help us through a couple of issues with recommendations and took a lot of the stress off of us with their professionalism and knowledge of how to make things work better. We kept to the 3 month timeline and very close to budget. We would recommend CMI Construction to anyone looking for a great company that keeps their word and does a great job. Their crew felt like family by the time we were done!

CMI Construction is amazing! They turned a hallway closet into a climate controlled wine closet in my house. It turned out to be even better than I imagined. They were great about keeping me updated on the progress of the project. Once all of the supplies had been delivered they worked hard to complete the closet in a timely manner. I highly recommend CMI Construction and plan to use them again for other projects in my house in the future.

CMI was very easy to work with. We did a complete kitchen remodel and small office addition. CMI was always on time, courteous and went above to make sure we were happy with our kitchen. We are looking to use CMI again in the future.

CMI construction is amazing to work with! My husband and I were having a dining room turned into a home office, and to do so wanted custom shelving built and installed, crown molding added, a door and lighting fixtures installed, and the room painted. Blake, Darrell and Bobby at CMI were communicative from the quote to the completion of the process, constantly emailing with updates on status of ordered materials and confirming expectations. When it came time for the actual work, all the crews in our home were professional, on time, and cleaned up after themselves. My husband and I are incredibly impressed with CMI and delighted with our new office - the quality of the work and the communication is fantastic, they truly surpassed our expectations. We hired CMI to complete a large addition to our home. They were professional and very thorough . We were included in all decision making, and the teams were prepared to handle any issues that arose. Everyone we worked with was very polite and conscientious of remaining as unobtrusive as possible while maintaining a clean construction area. The team often handled details that we would have easily glossed over or not considered. The completed addition exceeded our expectations while remaining on budget. We've had multiple comments of how seamless the addition was constructed to complement our original structure. We highly recommend this company.

CMI did an excellent interior remodeling job for our home and exceeded our expectations in every way. Extensive changes were done that required removing several walls and dealing with floor problems. The work was done in a timely manner even when we made changes during the process. Our home went from ugly and boring to beautiful and comfortable. We are thrilled with all of the work and have gotten many compliments.

We retained the services of CMI Construction related to an extensive project involving both exterior and interior construction upon our home. The services included demolition, a new bedroom and garage addition as well as removal of two expansive wooden decks and replacement with stone based second story patios which also serve as flat roofs for the first story structures. Darrell and his staff not only provided innovative assistance and ideas at the planning stage but also all services necessary to complete the job within the time frame represented within the contract. His staff and tradesmen were extremely qualified, courteous and left the project upon completion in a clean, dust-free condition. Over the years I have had a number of construction projects completed by other contractors in Arkansas and other states ....some good and some bad...but I can honestly say that working with CMI was one of the few times where we had a wonderful experience from beginning to end. I am currently considering another project and look forward to working again with Darrell and his staff.

From mouse house to adorable family home. Highly recommend CMI. Excellent quality, great value, flexible, timely. They transformed our fixer upper from flea/mouse infested mess to an adorable family home. Completely renovated kitchen, guest bathroom and added a master bathroom and walk-in closet. Very happy with their work. Plus all their workers were personable, flexible, gave great suggestions and honest feedback.

Shower remodel and had leak. CMI helped with design, provided great guidance for me when selecting what to have for shower. Shower was completed on time and under budget. Quality of work was great!

We have used CMI for three different projects in two different homes in the past year and they have exceeded our expectations with each one. We have done a master suite remodel, changed a walk-out basement door to a window, and did a complete kitchen remodel. Each project was done in the time they said it would be (or sooner!), the quality of work was awesome, and (most importantly to me as a mom of four small children) their crew kept my house, the project areas, and their work spaces incredibly clean every day they came! Darrell and his team are super easy to work with and great at communicating every step of the way. After dealing with many unresponsive companies, I was very pleased to see that Darrell came out to my house the day after I called him. He quickly assessed the urgent situation in my kitchen and told me exactly what needed to happen. This was so refreshing after being given the run around by others. He also made sure my remodel job was a priority with his team. They started very quickly and finished a week before the estimate reflected they would. He made sure that the project stayed within my budget and understood my goals before even getting started. I had a leak that forced us to replace some cabinets. Not only did they fix what was broken, but gave us some much needed updates as well. I was very pleased with the outcome and plan to use him again for my bathroom remodel. CMI did a new construction project for us building out our unused attic space giving us an additional 1000 sq. ft of living space. CMI was able to create a full bonus room, an additional bedroom with large walk in closet and full bathroom. They even built a bookcase for my husband that has a hidden door that leads into another room! CMI had to create stairs leading up to the attic space that blended with original house. The stairs are by far my favorite part! They are amazing and a wonderful focal point for the downstairs of the house. CMI has a wonderful accounting system allowing us to keep up with project costs bi-weekly allowing us to make additions like custom book cases and cabinets. The original estimate provided was nearly spot on to the ending cost. Working with Darrell Caplener and the CMI team was amazingly simple due to their years of experience. Everyone on his team were extremely nice and felt trusted to be left alone in the house while my husband and I were at work. The completed project far exceeding all of our expectations and will work with them for any future remodeling project needs.

I've worked with CMI on several projects. Many builders consider the designer as an adversary so it's a pleasure to work with Darrell who sees the project as a collective effort between the client, builder and designer. He's a great communicator and very conscientious.

We wanted our entire house updated, paint, flooring, countertops, lighting, fixtures and our living room needed completely reconfigured. CMI listened to exactly what we wanted and gave us advice and guidance. Their list of local businesses to shop for materials was a big help as well. ALL the CMI employees are GREAT! They were on time, clean up after themselves daily and did their best to make the process livable for my family. We chose to go cost plus on a big job (12 weeks) and it finished on time and a little under the estimated cost. On time and budget is great, but the fact that we felt comfortable with the guys that were in our house every day is why I give CMI 5 stars.

I can't say enough good things about CMI Construction. They are hands down the best contractor in Northwest Arkansas for home remodel/renovations. Darrell and all of his men are trustworthy, hardworking, and professional. They provide quality workmanship with great attention to detail. CMI did an outstanding job on our home project--an attic conversion that gave us an upstairs bonus room, a full bath,and two bedrooms. This was a big project--more than 1000 square feet and taking about 3.5 months in all. Throughout the process, Darrell Caplener and the CMI crews and contractors were thorough, honest, attentive to detail, neat, and very responsive to our goals for the new space. They completed the work efficiently and dealt with unexpected issues professionally, promptly, and always to our satisfaction. Darrell monitored the entire process and kept us informed of upcoming steps so that decisions could be made in a timely way--his attention to the process helped us avoid "gaps" among steps of the renovation. Darrell also kept us informed about the budget implications of decisions we made along the way, which helped us stick to our budget goal for the work. Finally, we were really impressed with how well CMI completed the many "finishing touches" involved with this project. There are so many details (paint touch ups, cleaning windows) that went into finishing the job, and Darrell patiently ensured that all of those details were taken care of in a timely way and that we were pleased with the final result. The whole family is thrilled with the addition (especially our teen-age sons who now have space where they can get away from their parents!). We're certainly glad to be finished, but really enjoyed the process of working with Darrell and the guys from CMI. This is a company with integrity that does top-notch work. We highly recommend CMI and will not hesitate to call on them again for future projects.

CMI helped us with a complete house remodel. We are so pleased with the finished project. Darrell Caplener and his crew were wonderful to work with. We were pleased with the communication on a daily basis. We had some challenges relocating the HVAC system but Darrell and his crew came through for us. And as a project manager Blake rules. He communicated at every phase and never left us wondering what was next. They work with trusted subcontractors and do VERY HIGH quality work. We will hire them again.

We hired CMI to remodel a bathroom, laundry room, build out a bonus room and replace our stairs and railing. They were fantastic from start to finish. The job took right at 8 weeks which is just what we were quoted. We lived in our house during the whole process. The CMI crew was friendly and respectful of the fact that they were in our home everyday. They made every effort to minimize inconveniencing us whenever possible. We have small kids and the CMI guys were very sensitive to safety issues with the kids in the house. They were extremely responsive to any questions we had along the way and quick to find a solution for the one and only minor issue we had during the whole project. We are thrilled with the results. Would definitely recommend them to anyone and plan to hire them again in the future.

Darrell and his team were great to work with, they started on time and completed on time meeting my deadline. Darrell's team cleaned up each night so they never left a mess and he checked in often with us to ensure we were happy with the progression. Our new kitchen and addition look beautiful. We hired CMI for a remodel of a 3500 sq. ft. house. We redesigned the majority of the interior which included knocking down several walls and flip flopping the house, even moving the kitchen from one end to the other and adding a new bathroom. Darrell and his crew were great to work with. They understood every step of the process very well and offered suggestions on some of the more difficult decisions. I would have no hesitation in using CMI for any future projects.

To say that CMI Construction did an amazing job on our house is an understatement. There are so many good points to this company I can't even list them all. However, I'll list a few. Their attention to detail was impeccable. They also use their own people and not a bunch of subcontractors. They are very professional people and very friendly. They treated us with respect and never seemed to get upset with us when we made last second changes during the remodel (and even a couple of changes after they had something finished). They worked with our insurance company to ensure that everything was repaired, even what insurance missed. Darrell and his crew will do a great job on whatever they are doing and they won't leave until you are satisfied.

CMI Construction was used to repair our home after an indoor flood from a water pipe under a utility sink. They arrived promptly for all aspects of the job from assessment to completion. All members of the team were real professionals (respectful, kind, timely, quality, clean up after work, etc.) The contractor, Darrell Caplener, is truly a man of integrity, giving honest assessments, staying on budget, and keeping high quality craftsmen in his employ. Every team member was sympathetic to our stress & temporary inconvenience. We felt overall that we were always in good hands due to his great crew. We hired CMI to repair water damage to our house right before we were scheduled to go on vacation. Even though I was reluctant we had them do the work while we were gone. I was nervous to return but was so surprised. They did an exceptional job. Everything was done exactly as we had asked it to be, on time and on budget. They were so respectful of our home and our time. They showed up when they said they would and did what they said they were going to do and did it well. In my experience this is rare. We were so pleased we have recommended them to several friends and neighbors.

CMI construction was a great company to work with. Our construction needs were not planned but due to major ice dam damage. His team came on quickly and helped get us in the dry. The team was helpful and very sympathetic and patient with us as they had to rip out a ton of drywall and half a bathroom. It was a devastating day for us and they handled it with such care. For that reason we decided to use them to complete repairs to the house and a major remodel of our bathroom!!! Their craftsmanship was awesome...in the rooms that weren't changed, you couldn't even tell we had to have major repairs. The bathroom remodel was just what we wanted and we are LOVING the new space. This group does great work with great professionalism. Highly recommended for restoration and remodeling work!!!!

Great bunch of guys. They were great to work with and did an excellent job. I had a house fire this summer, and had to stay in an apartment I hated, so I was really happy they finished on schedule.

After interviewing 3 different remodel firms, we hired CMI to complete our master bathroom renovation. CMI did a remodel due to water damage. Required replacement of wood floors, partial kitchen cabinets, baseboards and paint through several rooms. They worked above and beyond with our insurance company and were able to resolve all issues. The staff was exceptional to work with, very knowledgable in their respective fields and professional at all times. They worked well together and with us to complete the project. They came in on budget and completed the project on time. We could not be more pleased with the results.

Hired CMI to dry out and repair wall damage from an ice dam on our roof. They removed drywall and insulation then replaced and repaired all damage including wall texture. We were concerned that the wall texture would never be matched but the drywall guy was able to ,arch perfectly. Crew was very clean, professional and polite. Would definitely use them again.

CMI came when the house was flooded and cleaned up the water damage. I then hired then to reconstruct the rooms back like they were before the water damage. They did an excellent job. The wallboard repair was perfect. The paint jobs were also great! They consulted with me on fixtures and knobs, etc. I am very pleased with the end results. They showed up early each day and worked hard.

CMI Construction can meet deadlines and bring the job in at the agreed price. CMI was able to move the job along and give us time to make decisions regarding materials. We agreed on some principals for the rebuild and CMI was able to follow through on those all the way to the end of the job. Their attention to detail in construction was one of the main reasons we chose this company. They work collaboratively with the homeowner to achieve a good result. The attitude of the workers and the contractor were good and they were able to use the designs we found on Houzz to assist in the rebuild. CMI’s focus on quality allowed us to retain the character of our older home and enjoy the newer floor plan. If you are interested in a company that can deliver quality, on time, you should definitely consider CMI. I researched them before we did the job and they were able to make good on their promises. Two thumbs up for team CMI!

I have hired this company on two occasions. Once for a complete attic conversion and another for water damage restoration. I have no complaints and was very satisfied with the quality of both jobs. Communication was fantastic and all work was completed in a very professional and timely manner. I will contact this company for any future projects I might have.

My home suffered significant water damage resulting from a burst pipe in the wall. I contacted CMI Construction. They were on the job within an hour of my call. They had the equipment and manpower to dryout the structure and move the personal property to prevent further damage. Once everything was dry they immediately started working with me on the restoration. The supervisor for CMI was courteous and was in constant communication with me regarding options and pricing. i couldn't have been happier with the finished product. I would highly recommend CMI Construction for any construction project.

CMI is a company who can do it all. They are very clean and respectful while working on the job. I have been blown away by the quality of work and craftsmanship they provide. Great company and even greater people.

I hired CMI to redoled bathrooms. What I liked about working with them is that when they found a couple of issues that needed to be addressed they took the time to explain what was going on and I felt the charges were more than fair to complete the remodel. CMI focused on a long term solution and not a patched project. I'm planning on using them for a couple more projects that I'm needing to complete. I have also recommend them to several people and I'm getting the same responses from them.

I assisted in the design and decorating at a historic home rebuild that CMI completed. I really appreciated their efforts to help us achieve a beautiful, well appointed space while retaining the historic quality of the home. CMI was patient and helpful as we carefully chose each material; and seemed to care that we ended up with the level of quality we agreed on initially while coming in on budget. Darrell even managed to help keep everyone laughing and jovial with his sense of humor during what is almost always a tension filled process. He is trustworthy, and there is nothing more important in his business.

I recently purchased a new home in East Fayetteville that was built in 1997 and needed some updates. CMI replaced the floors, cut a pass through from the living room to the kitchen, remodeled the bathrooms and remodeled the kitchen. I have used CMI on several jobs on previous jobs including a complete kitchen tear out and rebuild, an outdoor deck and a driveway replacement. Every job I have hired CMI to do has been excellent. Outside of the excellent work that was done, the house was picked up and cleaned every day before the crew went home (I know because I lived there during the remodel).
