Chris Connolly and his company refurbished our basement, and our experience was extremely positive. There was a lot going on in this project. We removed a closet that was under the stairs and replaced it with a second bathroom (which we needed in order to renovate the bathroom upstairs). Critically, this second bathroom was below the septic line, so a significant amount of plumbing work was required. We also replaced the stairs, which were basically falling apart, and put down a floor. Finally, we took some bookshelves that my grandpa was working on before he passed away and had them installed on one of the walls, purposely leaving them slightly unfinished. The stairs in particular were very well done. Chris hires an excellent finishing carpenter, the same guy who worked on the bookshelves. A couple of things I thought were very good: they made excellent suggestions on what to do throughout the project, and they were more than happy to come back and make small touch-ups on minor stuff we discovered while actually using the things they made. That was very helpful. The project did cost quite a bit, but it was understandable given how many different kinds of work needed to be done. One note for anyone planning something similar: if your project is time sensitive, make that very clear up front and ask for frequent updates. Chris communicates well over text, so it's easy to stay in the loop once you set that expectation. The final product was perfect, no complaints. The basement is excellent; this is exactly what we wanted.

We hired Chris to remodel our bathrooms, our basement and our laundry room. Our basement renovation included fixing a problem leak. Our basement required required some extra work, but Chris successfully fixed the leak and he turned part of the space into an amazing home gym! Chris also built a portico for our front entrance, and this made a huge difference for curb appeal. Chris was easy to work with, responsive to questions and had great attention to details. He had useful recommendations along the way for each space. All the tradespeople that he hired were high quality. Everyone arrived on time and if there were issues we were notified in a timely manner. We are thrilled with the results and we would recommend him for any project!

I hired Chris to do a major remodel to update my Cambridge Philly-style condo. Chris and his team did a phenomenal job, delivered the project within budget and on time, and was communicative throughout the entire process. I can't say enough good things about how this project turned out - it exceeded my expectations. The scope of my project included: open up a major structural wall, widen and improve the out-of-code stairs leading up to the "Philly" room, remove old built-in storage pieces, remove some non-structural walls, rearrange the entrances to some rooms, and a complete cosmetic update to all of the interior trim, walls, ceilings, floors, and lighting. This project was to take place over the course of 3 months in the winter, while I was temporarily relocated/moved out of my house and communicating with Chris remotely from across the country. I interviewed a lot of design-build firms to take on this job, and I hired Chris for his honesty. When I described the project goals to Chris during the initial consultation, the first thing he did was measure the distance from my floor to ceiling, before telling me that he couldn't realistically promise the staircase I had described (others simply insisted that it would be possible, no problem). The subsequent visits of his tradesmen to scope and quote the project were worth the modest price for a detailed quote (especially compared to other firms who went from "free consultation" to "multiple thousand dollar deposit to lock into a contract"). I was insistent on certain changes to the staircase, and Chris was incredibly accommodating - he modeled up a number of different solutions with calculations, in addition to communicating with the building inspector at the Cambridge office to make sure the changes would meet code far in advance. I am so glad that I trusted him to plan the stair design and do his utmost to provide me with alternatives and backup plans. I also appreciate his eye for design - he perfectly captured the modern style I wanted for this unit. His team worked every day on my condo. Chris professionally repaired every construction "surprise" that came up (a corroded pipe sprung a leak in the basement during construction, a broken key, a porch stair was damaged by a third-party - not part of Chris' crew, etc). When there were issues of paint fumes drifting to an adjacent unit (normal part of the construction process), Chris responded to my texts to resolve the issues, even though I was across the country. His attention to detail and communication made this project smooth and I felt like he dealt honestly with me where others in the construction industry have not before (I am female in my 30s). Chris' pricing is transparent and very fair for the level of service he offers. I would wholeheartedly recommend this company to anyone. It is 100% possible to have a stunning renovation done to your home while you are not in-state to micromanage the work, and to not be intimidated by the process.

Chris was awesome to work with during our entire project. We started with the idea of a screened in porch but due to town regulations it wasn't possible. We still needed much more usable outside space and Chris came up with a plan! It evolved when we found issues like the foundation of our house being in the way. Worked with Chris on two different projects at our house in Concord, an outside entryway overhang and a bathroom remodel. We've worked with several general contractors in recent years, and Chris was BY FAR the best. He is honest, knowledgable, thorough, communicative, and finishes everything he promises even if you've forgotten about it yourself. He suggests improvements (that don't cost you any extra money) without being prompted and implements them. I hired Chris for a relatively small job, to replace a sliding door with two casement windows, and repair the rot under the sliding door which had gone down to the sill. I went with Chris because of his knowledge and expertise, and I trusted him. He communicated with me throughout the process and completed the job in a timely manner. I can highly recommend Chris. We hired him for an attic addition including an addition of a full bathroom. His communication is great and there was never a concern of "whats next?" or "where is everyone?" He or his contractors were here almost every day! The attic came out beautiful and he stayed completely in our budget that we initially laid out. Chris is also an easy person to get along with and pleasure to have in your house everyday. He is meticulously neat and cleans up after himself and his subs everyday. I never felt worried having any of the subs he contracted with or him in my house while I wasn't here or while I was sleeping (I work nightshift).

I hired Chris to do basically a major renovation of my condo during the height of covid and could not be happier that I did. I hired him to renovate a full bath, add a half bath, new doors and frames, new floors, custom closets, add a fireplace, remove a wall, add ac and trim and paint the entire place. Almost the entire project was designed and executed over texts and FaceTime as I lived out of state during the renovation process. I received near daily updates from Chris during the process. He even FaceTimed me from a showroom so I could pick out in stock tile! When I first met with him he was very upfront about the costs and scope of the project. The quotes I received had full transparency as far as materials and labor. He was very meticulous about keeping the job site clean and respected the two other condo owners while working in the unit. One of the biggest fears I faced renovating the condo was to not be taken seriously as a home owner as a woman in her early 30s, or worse, to be taken advantage of. With Chris I could ask all of my questions and he would answer every single one and give advice for where to save and where to spend. He returned every single one of my phone calls and looked out for the projects bottom line. The home is beautiful and my only disappointment is that I didn’t renovate my kitchen while Chris was working on the rest of the home.

We had a particular challenge, a pony-wall in our new split level ranch that presented a safety concern for our two young children, as it overlooked a 10 foot drop into a stairwell. We found Chris based on his great reviews, explained both our safety concerns and also our overall design approach to the house, and asked him for options. Chris presented a number of safe options that fit the feel of the house that we wanted, and ultimately we decided on a design. Chris was very responsive and communicative. Chris arrived at complex mess. He successfully took over over the project when demolition and structural engineering reports were complete, after the discovered damage exceeded the capabilities of the homeowner and prior contractors. Chris was able to turn the project around both working with existing third party contractors, with crews he brought in himself, and with his own carpentry work. His carpentry work included reframing of converted second story porch bedroom respondent to structural engineering report, squirrel and water damage, including complete roof reframing under existing roof, replacement of damaged windows and sill, evaluation and repair or replacement of prior work by other parties, full finish work from studs, and finish carpentry including trim work. Chris completed the project at a high level of quality, even when faced with pre-existing mistakes to remedy. Throughout he was clear communicator and able to talk through decision points. For example, all change orders were places were we knew up front at the time we signed the original contract we had a decision to make. We would have employed Chris to do additional work past finish carpentry, but with the pandemic we jointly decided to wrap up before the painting. We would certainly recommend the Connolly Management Group and hire them again.

It has been a pleasure working with Connolly Management Group over the years. The most noteworthy aspect of Chris is the relationship he builds with his clients. Being a Tile Installer I am usually one of the last of his trade specialists on a project. When I walk with Chris into someone’s home for the first time and meet his client, it is always smiles, excitement and a warm welcome. The relationship he builds with his clients is just as important to him as the quality of his work. Having 20yrs of construction experience myself, I have worked with a lot of General Contractors, the good, the bad and the undesirable. Over the years I have been to many people’s homes at the end of a job to install tile and have listened to them vent about how bad the experience has been with their General Contractor (GC) and the shoddy quality of GC’s work. It is always a great experience working with Chris and the level of professionalism and quality of work he brings to the project makes working with him seem like engaging with a lifelong friend.

Chris was great and so easy to work with! We hired him to do a renovation of our Dorchester condo that included a kitchen and bathroom, and we're so happy we did! Chris was super communicative and paid attention to the small details. Chris built our three season porch that replace a small deck. From the very beginning he was enthusiastic and helpful. He walked us through the town variance process as well as working with the town building inspectors when we discovered a abandoned septic system where the footings needed to go. Once we were able to build we were impressed with his craftsmanship, attention to detail and the neatness of the site. He was easy to talk to and explained every step of the process. I am an interior decorator Divine Interiors/Jennifer Jenkins and hired Chris to do custom work for a client. Chris has both a personable yet professional deameaner. A client moved into a newly constructed home and the design had some challenges. So, I decided to do a half wall to make the rooms look and feel open still yet divided to give a feel where you may be separate from kitchen. Refrigerator was located close to the seating area. So, I got Chris involved and we created this perfect half wall and he customized a lovely column for support and yet looks beautiful. So, the clients was set on walllpapering the dining room and what we choose was a stunning rice paper and silk and again got Chris involved to customize a chair rail and was challenged by walls that were not straight. He had a solution ad it turned out great. Chris is talented and a great person to work with too!

Working with Chris was great. His understanding of the challenges that were to be expected was very helpful. We had a very large deck that had never been maintained by the previous home owner. All the railings and decking were rotted and had to be replaced. Chris strengthened the structure and also bolted the ledger board to the home. This is how the deck is attached to the house and it was not done properly. I would not have noticed this, but he did! At our request he also added 10' of width in one area to create a more open seating area. The quality of his work was excellent. I'm glad we found Chris and highly recommend him. His prices were also very competitive.

Chris installed a hounds tooth pattered barn-wood ceiling in our dining area. It came out better than we ever could have imaged! Chris repaired my bathroom after a pipe broke in the wall causing substantial damage. He replaced the walls, ceiling and flooring. It looks better that ever! He was easy to work with, polite, respectful and he charges reasonable rates. I am very pleased with my experience with Chirs overall. As a metter of fact, I've now contracted with him to replace the tile in my tub, and I have other improvment projects in mind when that's done.

Chris installed a beautiful deck for us this summer. I needed to have cellar steps leading down from the bulkhead rebuilt for a town inspection. I had Connolly Management Group come over to do the job and my first impression of Chris was his professionalism. He was courteous and gave me a real estimate on what was involved in rebuilding the stone sidewalls that were breaking apart, as well as the custom building of the steps. The time frame that he gave to me for the completion of the job was true. I was very impressed on how he completed job. The inspector passed this work. I found that the pricing was very reasonable for the work he had to do to ensure that the walls as well as the steps were in a safe and sound condition for future use. I have given this company's name out to other people and will continue to do so.

Chris Connolly completed a sizeable exterior residing job at our home in over the 2014-15 winter. What began as a simple repair job turned into much more as he noticed a substantial amount of rot under the clapboard siding on the front of our home. With our permission, he did a thorough examination of the extent of the water damage and concluded that all the siding and window frames on that side of the house needed to be replaced. He presented a detailed proposal, including itemized parts and labor, and began the work in early December. He endured some harsh weather over the course the project but worked through the cold and wind to keep pace with the job. He showed impressive resourcefulness and problem solving skills when he encountered some underlying issues which he promptly resolved. Chris always kept my wife and I thoroughly updated on his schedule of work, which made us feel confident he was in total control of a pretty complex job. His carpentry skills showed many times as he completed some intricate finish work, including window molding that closely matched the detail on windows on other sides of the house. When subcontractors were needed for specific tasks, Chris coordinated their work and schedules, and ensured everything was done right. We had discovered some rot on our house and we could not find a contractor willing to tackle the job. We heard about Chris Connolly in a playbill ad at a local high school. It said he specialized in fixing water damage and making repairs so that he damage would not reoccur. We had no idea how bad the damage was, due to faulty construction on small details that led to really big problems. Chris removed siding where necessary, repaired the damage, and improved the house. He even had to detach our deck from the house to get at some of the damage! He reinforced the deck and built beautiful new stairs. The rot is gone and his improvements mean it will not come back. He was flexible to work with and seemed like a part of the family. We are so thankful that we found him!
