Ebony is the absolute best! We used her services for a kitchen and downstairs living area remodel. She was really able to think outside of the box for our space and find solutions that I hadn’t even considered. Ebony was present for the whole remodel, she was facilitator, participant, listener, knowledge sharer, all that we needed during the project. Her master plan for our remodel was designed with thoughtful consideration of how we live and what we were trying to accomplish. She took a 35-year-old bathroom and created a lovely, serene spa like environment with a roll-in capable shower, larger door and drawer handles for easy grasping with arthritic hands, sensor lighting in the base of the cabinets, heated floors & a heated towel bar. Anyone using our new bathroom can be as self-sufficient as they desire, while basking in serene luxury. Ebony is an exceptional designer. She is collaborative, thoughtful, and a good listener. Her attention to detail, and knowledge of available technology and materials and how to best apply them, is superb. We now have a beautiful, highly functional, safe master bathroom thanks to Ebony Stephenson of Designs by Ebony. We wanted to convert our tub/shower combo into a curbless walk-in shower and add attractive, functional storage space. In the process, we wanted to focus on safety without compromising on style. Ebony delivered on all counts – and then some! Ebony has the engineering and technical skills and design aesthetic we needed to achieve all of our remodeling goals. We undertook this project in the height of the pandemic, with all of its attendant supply and workforce shortages. Fortunately, Ebony does an incredible job of maintaining good relationships with suppliers and tradespeople and staying up to date on product selections and availability. She kept our project on track while fulfilling our design wishes. Ebony brings to any project – and I can’t stress this enough – her depth of knowledge about products and their proper use and installation. She knows how to make a space not only beautiful, but also safe and functional. Our master bathroom now has flooring that is gorgeous while being slip-resistant. The same large format tiles line the walls of the shower, but for the shower floor she had the contractor cut them into smaller tiles to increase the grout lines and thereby improve traction for wet feet. The towel rods and toilet paper holder she recommended are properly installed grab bars that coordinate with our faucets and shower fixtures and are as beautiful as they are practical. The total result is a bathroom that is safe for someone with physical limitations without giving off any sort of “hospital” vibe. We would not hesitate to enlist Ebony’s guidance for future projects.

Ebony designed a home renovation for my mother that became a tear down and rebuild. Ebony's designs changed as the plans changed and my mother has the home of her dreams where she can safely and comfortably age in place. The open floor plan allows the family to comfortably gather and makes the home perfect for holiday meals and family functions. Ebony was wonderful to work with and made the design process pleasant and fun, even as the project changed. Her use of the latest technology allowed us to visualize the home. As a visual person, I found that to be very helpful. In addition, the attention to detail and her patience ensured we had every finish, fixture and furnishing decision added to our design plan. We love our new bathroom! The World Class design by DBE provides the feel of luxury in a small footprint. It was great to work with Ebony as she walked us through the process and incorporated our needs into what turned into a space that is a delight to use. From a steam shower, shower tiling, floor tiling with heated floors and a recirculating bathtub, it takes relaxation to another level. We are extremely satisfied with how everything turned out and it all goes back to the design. Ebony, thanks for guiding us through the process, answering questions, and providing solutions, so that we ended up with the bathroom of or dreams.

We were referred to Ebony by a consultant at the local Ferguson showroom to design a large bath remodel. The remodel entailed converting an adjoining guest bedroom to a master bath and converting the current bathroom & closet to a large closet. We planned to interview several designers, but decided there was no need. She was on time, professional, and just "got it." Ebony encouraged us to find images we liked online in order to get a sense of our style and asked questions about how we truly planned to use the space. The space and architecture of the house allowed for several options, all complex. She went through each one with us, showing us the layout and outlining pros and cons of each. In the end, we landed on a design that we absolutely love, materials and products that fit our style, and a space that we look forward to using every day.
