Katja Lauterbach of Duett Design, is an extremely talented and easy to work with designer. She is prompt and efficient and helped us create a contemporary look for our kitchen and family room. Katja brought a large selection of samples to our home and guided us in making choices to complete our projects. All the contractors she assigned were talented and reliable; window treatments and installation, reupholstering and framing artwork. Katja is very patient and afforded us the time to think and make decisions. The entire experience was stress free for perfect results.

We used Duett Design for a bathroom/closet demo and remodel. We honestly could not have done this project without Katya’s design recommendations and project management skills. She was the primary liaison with the general contractor which made our project progress smoothly. We love the finished space, beautiful and functional!

Duett Design and Katja Lauterbach have been an outstanding partner for me by supporting several projects in my home. Katja was the catalyst in re-imagining my master bath, guest bath and kitchen through major renovations. She also was heavily involved in redecorating my living room. Throughout all of these projects, she was very attentive to my goals in creating a beautiful and comfortable home with a touch of modern European flair. She did this while being very responsive, as well as being conscientious of my budget. Katja and Duett Design did an excellent job planning the space and designing a beautiful master bathroom/walk-in closet, guest bathroom and laundry room for us. We have greatly enjoyed all of these spaces, and they add so much style, character and value to our home. We gutted the old spaces for all of those areas of our house and worked collaboratively with Katja to plan the new space, choose all the materials and fixtures, choose the contractor and execute the project. She patiently walked us through every phase, subtly steered us toward the very best choices at every step, and then project managed from the design standpoint in concert with her contractor partner to ensure that the plan was executed perfectly. Katja's strengths were the conceptualization, space-planning and design of all the new spaces -- providing a plan, with tweaks as necessary, that met our needs in the best possible way. In short, she provided the vision we never could have developed on our own, and (following our directive) provided a limited but curated array of material and fixture choices based on our defined wishes that made it far easier to zero in on the perfect solutions. Her only shortcomings were not being forceful enough in helping us realize that some of our own ideas were very much off target, and in not using any sort of 3D rendering software that helps visualize the space in a way that drawings just cannot. Overall, though, we could not be happier with the outcome, and with her diligent work at every step in the process.

My husband and I have had a wonderful experience with Duett Design. As proficient but indecisive DIYers, Katja set us on the right track to update our living room, kitchen, and dining room saving us time and money along the way. She has helped us create a beautiful, dream-come-true, family-friendly space that gets better with every project we complete. Katja is always willing to listen to our needs and incorporate our ideas into the design while providing budget-minded permission to use items that we already own. While it is not likely that we are typical of her regular clientele, she is always willing to pick up where we left off and offer guidance on the next project.

Best Design Team ever! My Wife and I are very conservative from a design standpoint. Katja and Julie did a great job of putting together design ideas that made us comfortable, but also pushed us beyond our normal boundaries to incorporate pieces that enhanced our project. We have hired Duett Design to renovate our bathroom, and have been working with them ever since! They have great ideas and are very professional and focused, working with them is such a pleasure. After we completed the bathroom, we continued with decorating the whole house, and are very happy, not only with the design, but also with the functionality of the space. This is a "P.S." to my comment made about a couple months ago - Katja and Julie just finished our living room, and I was so excited that I went straight to houzz to express my thrill! You know what's great? Designers who, instead of inducing stress, reduce it, and replace it with upbeat energy, creative ideas, and an understanding of who their client is, and what she wants in her space. Katja and Julie of Duett Design did just that for me as we built our Hello Gorgeous Boutique & Cafe in Chamblee, Georgia. Designers have always intimidated me, but NOT so with Duett Design! Katja and Julie listened carefully to what I imagined and then they looked carefully at each area in the shop. They surprised me by suggesting paint colors, which included "Exuberant Pink!" which for me was fantastic!( I thought designers only used beige.) Duett Design helped me stay within my budget, created beautiful curtains for our dressing rooms, pillows and even recovered a chair. Katja and Julie were always available by phone or email, and when they dropped in were able to re-energize me in my own creative process. Duett Design worked with me to create a space which my customers and I can say "Hello Gorgeous" to every day!
