Cathy has the sixth sense to gauge your taste and style and takes it to perfection in designing and choice of colors and materials. She is very professional and works well with people. The house I bought was 30 yrs old and now it can be featured on the pages of sunset magazine!

Cathy has been absolutely amazing to work with and my husband and I are in love with our home. Cathy has a way of incorporating your style with her designs (so her company has the perfect name). Our home is exactly what we wanted and in fact, it is better than what we could ever imagine! I find that I am more of a homebody now because I love spending time in our home and cook in our amazing kitchen. Cathy is the sweetest person you will ever meet but at the same time, she knows how to keep people on task....which I love and respect. Cathy also works with some wonderfully talented people such as her assistant Sheri as well as her contractor/crew. I felt completely comfortable having Cathy's people in my home (whether I was home or not) because I know Cathy only works with the best and most trustworthy people. We basically upgraded our entire home which included the kitchen, flooring, guest bathrooms, paint, crown molding, baseboards, etc. We had a few minor hiccups (as everyone does with major renovations) but Cathy was quick to correct the issue and make things right. We have some other projects we need to be done and we will definitely be contacting Cathy for any future needs. I would HIGHLY recommend Cathy for all of your design needs. Cathy's company is perfectly named since she wants the final product to be what the customer had in mind! She and I spent time looking at pictures of remodeled bathrooms so she picked up on what I liked (and did not like!) but once we had a good relationship, she threw out some great ideas that would not have ever crossed my mind. Example: my guest bath is a bit on the small side so she suggested wallpaper. In fact, she suggested a wallpaper with glass beads that sparkles in the light - along with a crystal pendant light and that small bathroom is more than just the toilet & sink. She has a great aesthetic but picks up, very quickly, on customer needs & desires.

Cathy has done work for me for over 7 years and has always impressed me! She is insanely talented, professional and ensures a project is done with high quality. Cathy has an ability to visualize a major transformation to your living space and always exceeds my expectations!!

We initially thought about putting in new carpeting and painting but thanks to Cathy with Designs With You in Mind, she was able to work with us to getting not just carpeting, beautiful hardwood flooring, get our fireplace a little more updated and install hardware to update our cabinets as well. We had a piece of mind that Cathy was on the job. She has been very thorough and professional to make sure all the work is done perfectly and to our complete satisfaction. We are so lucky to have met her through word of mouth and were grateful to have her be there when I was not available and across the country to handle any problems that arose from the renovations. We are looking forward to working with Cathy again in the future for all our renovation needs as she has the skill and expertise to not only meet but exceed our expectations.

I had worked with Cathy in 2006 when we completely remodeled our home. Everything worked out so well at that time and is still so beautiful today that I contacted her when it was time to replace my cement floors and refurnish our family room. She knew exactly what I wanted in a functional yet unique flooring. Installation went seamlessly and my floor is gorgeous! The new sofa, rug, coffee and consul tables came in today and are spectacular. Warm, organic and perfect for us. She was available every step of the project and brought personal touches that truly completed the room. I will use her services again!

Where others failed for oh so many reasons, Cathy succeeded. I'd nearly given up and almost didn't meet her. Lucky for me I followed up on an artist's referral. Cathy shows up with energy and interest in your project. She's talented, creative, experienced, detail oriented and has the professional resources to execute your dreams. With Cathy, dreams become reality. First project: New fireplace facade that replicates the Zwebells' fireplace in the Andalusia in West Hollywood. Design and create decorative iron rod at the new mantel to use for hanging clothes to dry. Second project: Replace large kitchen ceiling (extensive florescent lighting) with layered, carved and painted Moroccan ceiling with multiple lighting options. Third project: Replace all the home's white, molded doors with carved dark wood in the same Moroccan pattern as the kitchen ceiling - choose and install door handles with black leather grips. Fourth project: Re plaster and paint main living areas and create rounded corners. Fifth project: Design and create outdoor iron trellis that references the interior Moroccan design patterns. Design and create outdoor Moroccan sconces to flank patio doors. Sixth project: Design and create floor to ceiling cornice with dual arches to frame library window. Stencil Moroccan pattern in metallic blackened teal on the cornice. Seventh project: Arrange for delivery of two "Moroccan" rugs purchased by me through Craigslist. Rugs were in Rancho Mirage, CA at the former home of Lawrence Weingarten and you can't believe how complicated it was to get them picked up and delivered to my home. I cried when some of the projects were done - I'd tried for so long - I just needed Cathy.

Cathy helped transform my office from a mess to a functioning asset that helps me work. I thought it would just simply be ordering some furniture and having it setup, but it was far more then that. They went the extra mile and help with organizing the space to make it function better. I would highly recommend them for any project.

This team was extremely professional. their design ideas were right in line with what we asked for. They transformed our kitchen into a work of art. My husband I hired Designs With You In Mind to design and coordinate a complete bathroom remodel in our house, built in 1935. Cathy Tonks drew up three layout options, and once selected, created a customized CAD drawing to provide to our contractor. Cathy Tonks accompanied us on numerous outings as we shopped for materials to modernize our bathroom, while still remaining reminiscent of the era in which it was built. With her familiarity and design expertise, Cathy Tonks helped us select materials and arranged the purchase and delivery of products, making the process relatively stress and hassle free. Throughout the remodel, Cathy Tonks responded to our home on numerous occasions to ensure construction was going as planned. After the remodel was complete, our custom cabinets were found to have a cosmetic blemish, which ocurred during install. Cathy Tonks arranged for the maker of the cabinets to come to our home,and came up with a solution to fix the damage. My husband and I highly recommend Designs With You In Mind. We found Cathy Tonks to be very straight forward and easy to work with. Because of Designs With You In Mind, our bathroom remodel turned out better than we could have ever imagined!

2004 - designed new kitchen upgrade - includes new counter tops, tile back splash, new sink and faucet 2005 - designed 2 custom cabinets plus 1 mantle and had them made / installed. Beautiful cabinets. 2012 - designed custom iron piece to gate large window opening in upstairs area. Safe for grandchildren and it looks beautiful. Kathy was easy to work with and listen to what we were looking for. She provided great suggestions and has a great design skill set. Kathy stayed on top of all our projects and maintain great communication through out. Kathy was a pleasure to work with and always had a great attitude.
