We have worked with Erika Bonnell Interiors for several years on various projects. We have only had positive experiences! The team's designs are beautiful. Communication between client, designer, and contractor has always been clear and responsive, which has made our work so much better! We have worked closest with Emilie through the years, who has such a wonderful personality and has made the process fun. Interior design and working with contractors can sometimes be tricky or intimidating, but Erika Bonnell Interiors has consistently made it a positive experience for both clients and contractor-partners.

This was our first experience with a designer and were really excited for the process. The EBI team provided us a design for our home that was originally 60% over our predetermined and agreed upon budget, so we scheduled a call to see where the costs were coming from and if there were any places we could come down. I had also asked to see a few of the particularly expensive furniture items in person before investing ~$10k into a single furniture piece. They responded defensively saying that this is a situation where you must trust the designer and there was no way to see pieces from their source in person (we did a search after the call and the brand is locally available at various stores). A few days later they sent us a revised budget with lower costs, which we were excited to execute. We hadn't responded for 4 days because we were on vacation over a holiday weekend. At that time, we then received an email saying that they were cancelling their contract with us, not refunding any of the money (we had paid 66% of their total fee which was going to cover Design + Sourcing + Purchasing + Installation and we were only in the Design phase), and on top of that they would not share where any item in their design came from or the contractors they received their pricing from. So for ~$6600 we received a powerpoint with a layout of 2 rooms showing where a couch / carpet / benches etc would go, but no information on where they are from or who we could work with to execute the idea. We feel really blindsided especially because I'm due with a baby in a few months (which they are aware of since that was the deadline we were working toward) so we don't have time to rehire anyone else to complete the project before then. I think perhaps we misunderstood what the design process was like (we thought we could provide feedback / give direction). I would say that if you have a budget in mind, like to have input on your style, generally like to understand why certain things cost something, this would not be the company to go with. We are incredibly disappointed in the outcome and feel like we wasted a lot of money for not much in return.

Erika and her team were amazing to work with. We had a vision for our downstairs bathroom and home office, but they made it come to life and gave us everything we wanted and more. They were easy to work with and made the whole process simple and easy. We're looking forward to doing another project with them soon!

Erika and team were absolutely fabulous to work with and created the most beautiful nursery for my daughter! Erika Bonnell has transformed our house from dull and outdated to a gorgeous home that suits our family's needs and personality absolutely perfectly. She has created spaces where adults and children thoroughly enjoy living and spending time. She has an incredible talent for understanding and anticipating a client's needs and desired style, even when the homeowner may not be able to articulate those. Erika Bonnell develops beautiful designs, but she also has creative insights for how to use available space. Her redesign of our small mudroom space has dramatically improved our daily routines. Further, Erika always responds promptly to questions, and we have always enjoyed working with Erika and her friendly team. We would certainly recommend Erika to any of our friends and family.

I found Erika through Houzz. I reached out to three designers who looked like they might understand my transitional style. Erika and her assistant contacted me immdidiately and met with me. They were extremely professional. At first I hired her for just a couple of rooms but by the time we were finished, she did most of my house. Pictures are posted in her photos under "Reston Glamour". I enjoyed working with her and her team. I very much enjoyed the process. I found her pricing to be fair. The end product was much more then I had anticpated and extremely pleased with my final product. I strongly recommend Erika and her team. So much so, I hope to have her start on my beach condo Q1 2015.

I hired Erika for a designer day. My family room was a blank slate and I had no idea where to begin. Erika helped develop a plan for me that solved all of my room issues (seating, kid-friendly needs, custom window sizes). She offered me several options so that I felt that my family's style/personality was being incorporated. She gave me great advice and honest opinions while always keeping my budget in mind . In executing Erika's design plan, I found her assistant to be very organized and timely in her responses to my calls/ emails. I love my family room now and am so thankful that I hired Erika!

I found Erica after browsing through photos on Houzz and loved the way she was able to do a variety of different types of spaces in a number of different styles. I didn't really know where I fit style-wise, myself, and had a lot of area to cover and was overwhelmed with no idea where to even begin. Before meeting with her, I was worried about how much the project might cost, but after meeting her for our first consult, I immediately felt like I was in good hands--she quickly diagnosed my likes and dislikes, honing in on my personal style in no-time, and after doing the math, it became a no-brainer. And she was very flexible, working around my financial limitations and doing the job with sometimes months in-between installs, to allow me to save up for the next phase.I haven't regretted the decision I made in the least. My house is totally me and my daughter but it's something I could have never dreamt up on my own. And Erica and her team were a joy to work with. I would recommend (and have recommended) her to a number of friends and family looking for similar services. I feel like I've not only hired a designer, but have made a set of friends that will long outlive my new furniture.

I found Erika through an internet search. From the pictures of her portfolio I could tell that I liked her style. Erika was such a pleasure to work with. I'm probably not the easiest client to work with -- I have champagne thoughts on a beer pocketbook -- but she patiently and assuredly led me through the whole process of completely renovating my kitchen. We've all heard about renovation nightmares -- how nothing goes as planned and it takes much longer than anticipated. Well that did not happen. A kitchen renovation is meticulously detailed and it was planned and executed perfectly. Everything went exactly as expected and when expected and in the end I got the kitchen of my dreams...for the first time in my life. I absolutely love it. Erika made it seem so easy. The choices she gave me when selecting materials were perfect. When I had suggestions her advice was just what I needed to guide me with what to do and what NOT to do. You can definitely tell the difference between a space that is well planned and one that is just replaced. I could not have achieved such a beautiful and functional kitchen without Erika. Her services were well worth it and I'm looking forward to doing more work on my home with Erika.

Erika Bonnell, Inc. Interior Design is fabulous. She was able to take my love for coastal themes and modernize them into a home not on the water. She kept functionality and budget into mind during the entire process. She has a great eye on how to choose furniture and organize it in a room. I admire the way she puts color, fabric, and textures together. I fell in love with the pops of color she added throughout rooms. We started from a blank canvas with a new home and couldn't be happier!
