Esq Design

Simon's design is good but he does not follow through with completion. Two years later we are still waiting for a cabinet door. He installed a white door with an oak toekick and has yet to fix this. I have sent multiple texts/emails about this but he does not respond. I am now left with a kitchen with mismatched cabinet and toekick and not certain how to fix this.

We have worked with Simon and Esq Design on three high end millwork projects over the last 24 months. His creative input and attention to detail when collaborating with the architect and designer has made his company an invaluable part of the process. The most recent project was a very unique build which required grade "A" craftsmanship & precise installation all while staying on budget and meeting the deadline. When we decided to renovate our kitchen we went from place to place to try to find the right kitchen design with the right quality. After a frustrating search across many design centres, by chance we came across ESQ Design. When we worked with Simon on our kitchen ideas, he listened to what we were looking for, helped us understand what works, and what doesn't, and came up with a beautiful design. We now have the kitchen we always wanted, and because the installation and build quality of the cabinets and drawers is top notch, we know it will last.

We absolutely LOVE our beautiful modern ESQ Design kitchen!! It was a pleasure working with Simon on all aspects of our project. Simon was instrumental in translating our (changing) kitchen vision into an actual design. He was very receptive to our questions and concerns and ensured the final design delivered aesthetically and functionally for our requirements. The quality of the finished cabinetry was excellent! We were also very impressed with Simon's installation professional - Greg. Greg was meticulous with the installation and ensured every detail was perfect. During the installation, Greg was very careful with our newly re-surfaced hardwood floor and there was not a mark on it when the installation was completed. Both Simon and Greg worked cooperatively with our General Contractor and ensured their part of the kitchen renovation proceeded smoothly and per the schedule. There were no issues at all with delays. The project was delivered on time and within the budget. Simon and Greg also responded quickly to a few minor post-installation tweaks. Aside from the work itself, Simon proved to be a very good sounding board for general renovation advice. As well, both Simon and Greg have a great sense of humour and we really appreciated how pleasant they both were and the light-heartedness they brought to the project. As frustrating as renovations can be sometimes, it makes a difference when you can have a laugh together! We did shop around before we decided to go with Esq Design and we are very happy that we made the decision to go with Simon. We highly recommend Esq Design for your custom cabinetry needs!

I had the pleasure of working with Simon of ESQ Designs over the course of about a year, during which time he designed and installed my kitchen, laundry, office, and living room fireplace and cabinetry. At our first meeting I was impressed with his knowledge, but more so with his passion. Simon is someone who crafts rather than builds, and most importantly he understood the essence of what I envisioned for my home despite the fact that we were only at the framing stage. We worked well together and readily floated ideas back and forth until the designs were, for lack of a better word, perfect. His creativity, understanding of space and design, and enthusiasm were greatly appreciated, and will continue to be throughout the years as we settle into our new home and make use of the spaces he helped create. I think what set Simon apart is that he understands people. His ability to communicate effectively, honestly, and in a timely fashion were exemplary. He also understands what makes a good work environment and, given the varied situations that we all encountered, worked well with the other trades in my home. Simon’s colleague Greg, who does the bulk of the installation, is of like mind and greatly valued by Simon for the precise work he does. The two make quite the team: boisterous in personality, but dedicated perfectionists in their trade. It was enlightening and enjoyable to work with both of them. The big picture, the little details, and bringing it all together is so well taken care of by Simon and Greg that I couldn’t imagine working with anyone else. We were very pleased to use ESQ design once again to supply and install cabinetry for a fairly extensive renovation. This is the third project they have worked on for us. As with all three projects, the end result is beautiful and far exceeded my expectations. Simon worked very closely with us offering suggestions and was able to accommodate all of our needs. The project encountered some design changes, which Simon took in stride with his ever so pleasant and professional disposition. Overall the end result is fabulous and we could not be happier. Working within a limited budget Simon of ESQ Design was able to transform a fairly recent renovation that was done in my newly purchased apartment to my vision of a light and contemporary design. As I was not wanting to completely replace the cabinetry he was able to retrofit the existing cabinetry with a high quality doors and drawers and completely reclad the kitchen island. Simon is very knowledgeable and made some design suggestions that improved the look and feel of the finished product. I found his approach very congenial and he has a great sense of humour. Simon takes pride in his work and can be counted on to deliver exceptional quality. The installation was done by Greg who is meticulous and great to work with. I now love my kitchen and have no hesitation in recommending ESQ Design.
