We had our bathroom completely gutted and remodeled in December 2011 by Wall to Wall Construction, and we are extremely pleased about the quality of this company’s work and the professionalism of its owner/employees.
In November of 2011 we had a leak in the kitchen ceiling, which is situated below the upstairs bathroom. We called out a plumber to investigate and it turned out that the leak was coming from the bathroom shower above. We were already considering remodeling our bathroom, and this leak prompted us to proceed with the job since we figured we would have to tear up the bathroom floor to fix the leak.
We used Wall to Wall Construction for our wood floor installation in 2010 and based on that enjoyable experience, they were the company we wanted to complete this task. We spoke with company owner, Angel, in detail about our options and preferences with the bathroom remodel. Angel was extremely helpful, offering his advice and suggestions to us. Most importantly, he imparts trust when he speaks…a real honest broker. After getting an estimate from Angel and signing a contract, the work began.
The first task was to completely gut the bathroom, which included ripping up the floor tiles; Angel and his crew worked quickly and efficiently. Angel immediately alerted us to some underlying issues, including the source of our leak. It turned out that the old shower had been leaking so badly that the floorboard was severely rotted. In addition, the shower tiles had been fitted directly onto drywall – perhaps a cost cutting exercise when the house was built? (Our house was built in 1992). Angel and his men ripped out the old drywall in the shower, replacing it with the proper materials. They also replaced the rotted floorboard. The bathroom floor was then prepped for the new floor tiles to be fitted. Afterwards, the bathroom was now ready for the installation of the new fixtures and fittings.
Angel advised us to go with a tiled shower floor, and we are extremely pleased that we went this route (both aesthetically and quality). Angel’s tile fitter did a fantastic job, and all of the tile work (bathroom floor, shower floor, and shower walls) was completed at a high level of quality. Angel’s plumber and electrician also worked had their part in our bathroom renovation, and both jobs were professionally done. The bathroom was then painted by Angel’s painter in the color we chose, and the end result was fantastic! Finally, the fixtures were installed (vanity, toilet, shower fixtures, sink fixtures, light fixture). After this, we just had one remaining piece before completion…installing a new medicine cabinet. However, our previous cabinet was inserted into our wall and was an odd measurement… meaning that we could not find a replacement that was suitable to our new, beautiful bathroom. Once again, Angel came to our rescue! Angel custom-built a wooden cabinet for us; and it is one of our favorite features of the bathroom.
