Second time working with them. First for a large kitchen, now for a master bath. Both times they were outstanding start to finish. We were able to live through the renovations because of our complete trust in the team each day to be in and out of our home. Expertly managed by Matt for a nearly perfect “transformative” outcome. Feinmann got a big thumbs up from our neighbors up the road. We trusted Feinmann from day one and they did not let us down. Given our extension project started just as Covid broke out, it was all the more impressive how the project was handled. Feinmann was very considerate of us, making sure we were not interrupted by the progress they needed to make. They effectively worked around us while we lived in our house. The project manager, fulfilled everything you would hope of project manager, providing ongoing updates, visiting the site almost daily. Our overall satisfaction was clearly paramount to Feinmann and it continues even today as little things to pop up and they are always there to support, address. We have continued to and will continue to recommend Feinmann to others.

I highly recommend the Feynman team. Having one team take responsibility from design through build is very seamless and efficient. During the construction phase, Greg and Michael worked so well together and addressed all our questions/concerns in a timely and practical manner. We went in to see Peter & co with some ideas as to what we wanted done to the house. However, the design team had their own thoughts and came up with a number of ideas that we hadn't considered. This process of itself was very useful because we ended up with a project aligned with what we really needed over what we thought we needed. Once the project started it ran smoothly. The project management was first rate - we were always kept informed of what was happening, where there might be potential pinch points etc. And the work either by the Feinmann carpentry team or by sub-contractors was excellent. We have ended up with two spaces that have transformed our house and the Feinmann team delivered from start to finish.

Hiring this company was among the best decisions I've ever made. My project was to make a separate apartment out of a walkout basement in a single family home. It was not an easy job - complete demolition, reconfigured space, new wiring and plumbing, moving windows and a door - the works. Feinmann made it look easy - even during the height of Covid. From start to finish, I was impressed by their innovative thinking, creative design ideas, problem solving skills, communication, and patience. They have top-notch talent in every area - and everyone involved was a pleasure to work with. Throughout this project, I was working full-time and spending my free hours moving out of my house of 23 years. It was a great relief knowing that every part of my project was under control. We worked with Feinmann for a complicated attic construction project. The project called for creating a new attic recreational space with a full bathroom and wet bar. Feinmann created the new space at an existing unfinished attic space and added a new dormer. The prject was complciated due to a large dome we have in that space that was 80+ years old. Everyone we worked with was highly professional and passionate about what they do. Our Project Manager Greg and Lead Carpenter Michael were both very resourceful and pleasant to work with. Even though it was during covid and we continued to live in our home during the construction, we had minimal disruption, if any, during our daily lives. We would recomment Feinmann in a heartbeat to anyone and will work with them in case we need any remodeling or construction.

We hired the Feinmann Group to do a complete renovation of our master bathroom, as well as a complete refresh of the two second floor bedrooms (included repainting all rooms, refinishing all hardwood floors installation of new larger windows and installation of three new doors. The master bathroom work was a down to the studs renovation. The original bathroom was installed by the previous owners about 30 years ago, so a complete renovation was in order. - Feinmann designed and installed a beautiful modern barrier free shower, with three sides glass, an accent wall, a floating bench and a built in the floor drain to make everything look seamless. The craftsmanship was excellent and we were ecstatic with the final result. - Feinmann also installed a beautiful tiled heated bathroom floor with programable thermostat, a new double sink, plumbing fixtures, all new mirrors and cabinets, an expanded window for more natural light, as well as all new light fixtures. - The final piece was a Toto Carlyle II toilet to round our the new master bathroom. - The two bedrooms were completely refinished and new window were installed doubling the natural light the master bedroom receives. The work was excellent, we had weekly meeting throughout the project so communication was also great. We were extremely pleased with all phases of the project, the people who came in and out of the house were always very polite and at the end of the day each worker cleaned up before leaving. As the rating indicates we love our new Master Bathroom and the additional renovations. We would not hesitate to hire Feinmann again or recommend them to friends.

We have worked with Feinmann Inc. on progressively more complex projects in the last many years, culminating in a project to add a two storey modern addition to our colonial house. We have been extremely pleased with them from the perspective of design, execution, project management and professionalism. Their carpentry, attention to detail for design elements, sincerity and customer care have really set high standards for us. We highly recommend them.

We hired the Feinmann team to oversee a very challenging renovation of our late 19th century Victorian home, which suffered from deferred maintenance as well as poor/unsophisticated upgrades over many years. The project consisted of an interior gut renovation including building out a new living space in the basement. The exterior of our historic home also required a top to bottom restoration. What I appreciated most about the Feinmann team is that they we up front about the process and cost, and their staff were 100% committed to ensuring that the project was a success (and that we were thrilled with the finished product). Our project superintendent and lead carpenter was both the craftsman and caretaker of the endeavor. He took ownership of his work and that of Feinmann's subcontractors as well. Our lead project manager was also highly experienced and brought unique perspectives to critical situations during the renovations. We always felt that the project was in good hands with this team.

We have worked with Feinmann team for many years now on successively larger projects and have always been extremely satisfied with them! Most recently Feinmann did an addition for us. We love what they done for us and enjoy the space thoroughly. We hired Feinmann, Inc. to renovate our first floor living space. The space, including kitchen, family room, living room, and dining room, was dated and presented several architectural challenges that prevented our family from using the space to its full capacity. The Feinmann team re-designed the space and resolved everything on our “wish list”. First, we wanted a fresh, open kitchen plan for cooking, family meals, and entertaining. Second, we hoped for better flow and more defined dining and living spaces. Third, we asked for an egress to our back yard off our family room space through the construction of a deck. Finally, total update of all rooms - including built-ins, a gas fireplace, new lighting, windows, etc. This was a huge project for us - in terms of cost, energy, and time, and we were so pleased that we chose to work with the Feinmann team. If you choose Feinmann, you can be assured that they will stick to the budget, they will be completely respectful of your time and family space (we have two young kids), they will produce practical and honest solutions, they will keep you apprised of progress and timelines throughout the process, and you will be thrilled with the final result. In addition, the Feinmann team is professional and kind. My kids still talk fondly about our wonderful carpenter, Phil, and project manager, Greg. The project has stood the test of time - after living in the space for over a year, we are still very pleased with the renovation.

They have the highest level of professionalism, customer service, client communications and way above average attention to detail. their ability to integrate design services with the contracting and construction was a real plus for us. they checked with us on every detail to make sure the project would turn out exactly as we envisioned it, which it did. the quality of the Feinmann staff is head and shoulders above any other similar group I've dealt with.

Feinmann did a wonderful job of reimagining the ground floor of our 1948 brick home and we could not be happier with the end result. As a client, we felt guided to invest in our home in a way that would transform our experience of living in the spaces while honoring the integrity of the original architecture of the house. With a brick house, that’s really an accomplishment! They are attentive to details, adhere to exacting standards, and have very good relationships with their subcontractors. You work with Feinmann as a team and through the design-build process end up feeling like they are part of the family.

We had previously used Feinmann for a renovation of our 1st floor and kitchen. That was 5 years ago and we still are praising and enjoying the work every day. When we decided to redo our exterior deck, Feinmann was our first choice. The design was excellent as well as the execution. When we hit some design challenges along the way, Feinmann's lead carpenter solved them. We had a strict deadline for the project, since we had planned to celebrate our daughter's college graduation with a party that included the deck. Feinmann met that deadline and we had a memorable occasion! We now have had the deck for over a year. We enjoy it for almost every meal over the weekend and often during the week in the fall, summer and spring. It adds an extra room to the house which we thoroughly enjoy.

This was the second time we hired Feinmann, Inc. to complete substantial work on our house. As with our first experience with Feinmann, Inc their work was excellent, the individuals we worked with on a day to day basis were very personable and knowledgeable. The individuals that executed the work on a daily basis treated our house as as if it were there own. We had two rooms on the first floor completely renovated including removing walls to create a more open space. In addition we had a three seasons porch demolished and removed. In its place a new four season porch/sun room with 3 sides of floor to ceiling sliding doors was installed. Now our favorite room! During the course of the interior house work we added a second piece to the project. We had all original exterior cedar shingles removed and replaced. We are extremely happy with the quality of the work and the knowledge and flexibility of the Feinmann staff. The project was completed in a timely manner and changes to the budget were fully discussed and approved in advance. We would happily hire them for a third project if needed.

Ryan Pirro was an excellent project manager who chased items down and made everything happen on time. Kevin, our carpenter, did an amazing job and gave us the kitchen I have always wanted. Barney, the architect, turned our house into exactly what we wanted. I cannot thank them enough for giving us the house we imagined when we bought a "house with good bones" 16 years ago. My husband and I were watching a show in which lottery winners find their dream home, and decided that even if we did win the lottery allowing us to buy a bigger house, we would want to stay in our current house because we now love it so much. Thank you!

We are very happy with the experience we had with Feinmann in what was a pretty extensive remodel. First of all, their design team - particularly Barney - truly developed a great vision for the house, beyond what we had imagined. Through the remodel, which by its nature is an arduous process (living without a kitchen for a while), the Feinmann team was very collaborative and supportive, managed well by Greg - and the results have truly transformed our house. We added a new room to our single-family home and remodeled another small room. Feinmann provided us with a variety of design options for a challenging space - an older, small home on a small lot, variances required, etc - as well as many potential construction schedule options, and were patient while we deliberated the options and worked out our financing in order to make the best decision. During the construction phase they took care to evaluate, accommodate, and where they could, remediate the construction work done before we owned the home. Our project schedule extended from fall through a very, very cold winter, but the dedicated crew worked through snow and freezing temperatures to stay on track. They did lots of little "extras" for us as well. I imagine we were a relatively small and less interesting project for Feinmann, given their portfolio - but even if that was true, you wouldn't have known it from the care and attention paid to our remodeling needs. Thanks for helping us make some very necessary changes and love our home even more!

We chose Feinmann because of, well, Peter Feinmann. We loved having him, and his entire team in our home. which, they treated like their own, the entire time they were in it. the work they did is all over-the-top gorgeous. they coached us to select products and finishes that will last a life time (and through our toddler), and the craftsmanship with which it was all executed certainly will hold up to time, too. i admire daily the integration of existing and new, and regret only that in time i'll likely forget which is which. Feinmann's team are masterful at what they do. and kind, and polite, and responsible, and responsive. i really can't say enough nice things about them, and their work

Feinmann worked with us to open up our first floor, add a half bath, and update the kitchen. We're extremely happy with the new space. Throughout the construction, Greg Lehman and Kris Beder were both responsive to our questions and concerns. Kris was kind enough to lock up our house after he finished up work while we took off for the holidays. Greg helped us figure out we had some room behind a wall to keep the TV and network cables and such hidden away, which gave us a much cleaner look around the TV. That was a great idea! We appreciated that Barney Maier and Elvin Zayas-Lai continued to provide some advice way after the design phase, even though we didn't always take their advice.

Working with Feinmann made our renovation such a positive experience. Unforeseen issues were quickly and clearly communicated. Peter, Ryan, Kris and team were always cheerful and professional. We came up with great solutions to all the problems we wanted to solve with truly stunning results. I particularly appreciated having the time and space when needed to ensure the details were just right. The high quality workmanship and attention to detail by Feinmann and subs really shows. We are so happy in our significantly reconfigured home.

From start to finish of the project our ideas were heard and creatively addressed. The quality of the final results are even better than we imagined they would be. Our home feels completely new and we are loving the improved living space! As far as the team, working with Tammy Russo was fantastic - she is personable, timely, has great ideas and always seem to stay calm and in charge, ready to problem solve. AnD and Eric are a delight to work with and the quality of their carpentry and building skills are impressive, always smiling and offering a "can do" attitude.

We hired Feinmann to replace our front door and sidelights as well as update our 1950's living room, which included installing custom cabinetry and a new mantel and converting our existing wood-burning fireplace to a direct-vent gas insert fireplace, among other cosmetic updates in the room. We were especially impressed with the high quality craftsmanship of Feinmann's carpentry team and we are very happy with the end result.

Peter and his team did a great job tackling our complex outdoor-space addition. Our project manager was diligent, communicative, and worked quickly to address the few concerns that came up over the course of the project. We have worked with over a dozen companies across various renovations; our experience with Feinmann was by far the best. The team did a very good job of understanding our intended use for the space and working with us to make tweaks in the design that helped us maintain our cost and schedule target. When permitting restrictions caused challenges, they resolved them quickly with changes that made sense. Our project included significant site work, masonry, rough carpentry, fine carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and painting. The project manager did an admirable job keeping the site busy while not causing a dangerous situation or one that interfered with our ability to live in our home. We felt that the rate at which the project progressed was impressive. We highly recommend Feinmann and will personally use their services again if the opportunity arises.

This is our second major project with Feinmann (the first one was 25 years ago!) and we were thrilled with the result both times. The project progressed on schedule throughout, the subcontractors were pleasant and professional, and the Feinmann team were all incredibly thoughtful about the details of the project both aesthetically and functionally.

Feinmann, Inc. remodeled our bathroom in the South End: gutting the entire bathroom, converting a tank water heater to tankless, adding a shower, and re-routing HVAC lines. We couldn’t be happier with the end product and with the team. They were on budget, on time, and the product quality was top notch. While they aren’t the cheapest, I never had to worry about the management of the project, nor the quality of the end product. They promptly addressed any issues that we had, and worked to ensure we had a clean home while they worked. This was especially important as my wife was pregnant at the time. We can’t say enough positive things about this team! Lead Carpenter, Kris Beder, did a fantastic job at keeping the site clean, with executing to the design, and with addressing any concerns we had. He was knowledgeable and very pleasant. I can’t say enough good things about him, and we would use Feinmann again just to ensure that Kris is working on our project.

Feinmann is a top-notch company in every category! We have worked with them on two previous occasions: an additional room to the house in 2011, and a complete renovation of three bathrooms in 2016. Working with the Feinmann team on all aspects was truly a great pleasure! Everyone in the company was committed to quality work, the projects were run proficiently and professionally, all the teams were providing the highest quality workmanship, and we always had timely responses to our questions and concerns. We have now (2017) contracted Feinmann for a complete renovation of our kitchen. My wife and I would consider no-one else for our new project!

The entire team on my project were very good. Ryan Pirro, the team coordinator/manager was good at relaying information and staying on top of any issues. Dave R., the lead carpenter, was professional and paid attention to details. The attention to detail is probably what Feinmann, Inc. is very consistent with and this keeps the project running smoothly. The design for my project was not a “modern” one but more late 19th century. We were able to communicate that and the right look was achieved. Feinmann is well versed in working on older homes and adjusting them for modern times.

The Feinmann team did a major renovation and reconfiguration of our entire second floor. The project presented a challenge due not only to the age of the house (120 years) but also to the unusual configuration of the rooms, doorways, and hall. We are so happy that we finally did this renovation and cannot believe we lived with the tiny master closet and horrible master bath for close to 30 years. We were worried about the massive disruption of such a project while we were living in the house. The lead carpenter, Dave, was fantastic and very competent. He was very careful to seal off the renovation space and keep the area contained. He was also very careful to clean up constantly and to oversee subcontractors so that no damage was done to other parts of our house. The project was well managed with weekly progress meetings, keeping us fully informed for the duration.

Feinmann designed and executed a completed remodel of our primary living area, a new roof and a new master bathroom. The scope of the job was large and we stayed in the home throughout. The size of the space did not change, but stairs were removed and the traffic flow was altered. The design phase felt rocky, as the firm is quite busy and seems to be happy postponing many decisions until construction is underway. However, once demolition began, we had a wonderful experience. Chris was our carpenter, he was there almost every single day for about six months and he was skilled, kind and conscientious. The subcontractors were excellent as well, respectful of our space and our family. Expenses were far higher than we had anticipated when considering the remodel, but were clearly communicated by the team at Feinmann prior to signing of the contract. After that point, there were no unexpected budget changes (although there were a few decisions by us that impacted our bottom line... always with advance notice). Our project manager, Tammy, directed us towards selections and finishes once she had an idea about our tastes. As with any endeavor, errors did happen, but any problems that arose were promptly corrected. One that stands out is adhesive difficulties with our glass bathroom tile that required full reinstallation. Chris discovered the problem before I did. He and Tammy had already outlined the full solution with the tile subcontractor before I was even aware of the problem. We are thrilled with our new space, it is functional, comfortable and beautiful. I would highly recommend Feinmann for a job that is important to you, because they make your satisfaction a priority. If you would be happy cutting corners, perhaps they are not quite the right fit.

We are so happy with our renovated apartment. This was a major project, involving joining together two studios, converting one into 2 bedrooms and a bathroom and the other into a living space and second full bathroom. The Feinmann company was a delight to work with, collaborating on all decisions, of which there were a great many, and completing all the work to a high standard. Having an architect involved to come up with creative ideas and solutions made a big difference, and some of our favorite features were his brainchildren. We have maintained our relationship with Peter Feinmann and the company.

Feinmann renovated our kitchen and reconfigured a lot of the first floor to create a better flow. The process was fairly painless considering the size of the job, and we are very pleased with the results.

Feinmann performed a gut renovation of a second-floor children's bathroom in our 1880's Victorian house. The bathroom had not been updated since probably the 1950's or 1960's. The process went very smoothly - the team came to our house for meetings and to inspect the bathroom and listened carefully to what we wanted. All the options for the design were in line for what we were hoping for. The process was very smooth - we were especially grateful that they arranged the demolition to happen while we were out of town (we have a small child and were concerned about the noise and dust, and they kindly accommodated us). The project manager communicated with us regularly, the carpenter was excellent and all the subcontractors were respectful, efficient and quiet. We are very happy with the bathroom - it looks great and the process went better than we could have hoped for. We are now considering whether to renovate another bathroom, which we never expected!

As we all know renovation usually begins with a need for improvement of your living. Once we recognize that it is time to renovate the question becomes “How”. I was given Feinmann, Inc.’s name by a designer who had come to the house and when I told her what I was looking for she stated “You don’t need me you need a design and build company”. I called Feinmann (after researching many) and our first meeting was productive and inspiring. Elvin (designer) knew exactly what we were asking for and quickly guided us through the first steps of the design for our master bedroom and bathroom and changes we wanted in the staircase. Steve (project manager) worked with Elvin to produce the plans and schedule everything. This was the beginning of a story with wonderful ending. As the process continued we added ideas here and paint there. Elvin was great to work with and we are thrilled with every inch of his designs from the master bedroom and bathroom, new handrails on the staircase to the color tones used throughout the house. Elvin’s designs were brought to fruition by the Feinmann team of project manager, Steve and lead carpenter, Kris. We were living in the house as the work was being done and everything was cleaned up and put away at the end of each day. The other team members (painters, electricians and plumber) were excellent in their craft. We always felt respected by the Feinmann team and their workers. We believe the work is superior and recommend them.

Feinmann Inc. is a top of the line builder. Their staff carpenters are true craftsmen and great people. Scheduling was first rate -- we couldn't have had more than a half dozen days in the six month project that crews weren't on the job site. Their design team did a good job giving us what we wanted, while at the same time presenting innovative ideas and untangling layout limitations in the existing space.

We had a renovation by Feinmann in 2016 -- it included a kitchen pantry, new addition "garden room" with a re-designed back entrance, 2 re-designed bathrooms, and a new fence. It was a great experience to have designers match the new rooms to the aesthetic of the house, and to think of so many touches we never would have. It was also a miracle to see what they were able to do with an old house that lacks the straight lines and level surfaces of new homes. And their help with products was also key -- we didn't buy anything that was wrong (a bad style, a wrong size). Our project manager was great about helping us decide where it was important to go for top of the line quality (the carrera marble) and where it was possible to save $$, and months later we still think he was right in all cases. We ended up with much more light in formerly dark spaces because of their creative designs for adding small windows or opening up spaces. Steve Prittie was our project manager and he was awesome to work with. I appreciate his flexibility for the changes we made and his communication with us was superb. Other staff, including the finishing carpenter, were also great communicators and extremely hard working, upholding high standards. People talk about remodeling as a hairy stressful time – for us, it’s just the opposite. We could see that they were dealing with problems and finding solutions for some daunting issues, and preventing us from making mistakes.

The Feinmann team designed and renovated the second floor of our house which included adding in a new bathroom and re-configuring and updating the master bedroom and master bathroom. The Feinmann team on our project (Peter Fienmann, Kyle Dube, Steve Dumas, Elvin Zayas - Lai, Barney Maer and Tom Harden) was very professional. They designed the upper floor based on our requirements. They had very creative solutions to issues that arose during the design phase. The quality of their work is excellent and were able to completely transform our upper level. The project was completed with minimal delays. Lastly, the project was being done while we were living in the house with our 7 year old son. The team ensured they got the work done with minimal inconvenience to us. I will definitely use them for future projects in our house.

We had a master suite addition, two complete bathrooms, and radiant heat and engineered floors for the entire house. The project was well designed and well managed from start to finish.

Feinmann Inc has completed four major projects in our home, in addition to small home repair projects. There is no one else we would turn to for expertise, fair pricing, and excellent results. The design staff is creative and practical. The lead carpenters are courteous, friendly and accommodating. The end result demonstrates excellent craftsmanship. Feinmann's "white glove" treatment from start to finish is worth every penny.

When undertaking an extensive remodel involving gutting a kitchen for a busy family while living in the home, one can only expect there to be some stress. Our family Thanksgiving dinner was prepared in this kitchen, there were 4-6 of us in the kitchen preparing different dishes all day. It was a dream kitchen to work in - the layout was very functional especially with so many of us cooking at once. The lighting was great and well-thought out which is so important but often overlooked. In this case, there was overhead lighting, task lighting, and natural light from the oversized window above the sink. The professional Wolf range produced a beautful turkey, as well as side dishes and pies. Clean-up was a breeze with two sinks, one oversized to handle those large roasting pans and skillets. Besides being very functional it is a beautiful space and a joy to work in.

Feinmann renovated our kitchen and master bath. From start to finish they exceeded our expectations. They were incredibly collaborative, creative, and concerned about ensuring our practical needs and aesthetic vision were met. They spent lots of time learning about our family, how we lived and what we wanted ( helping us when we were unsure or wavered) . Because of these factors, design decisions, of which there are many during a large renovation, were not overwhelming. We actually enjoyed the entire process and the end result is exquisite. We actually missed our lead carpenter and project manager when the renovations were complete!

Feinmann, Inc. is our go-to one-stop shop for renovations and home improvements projects. We hired them in 2010 do a three-month major renovation and upgrade before we moved into our little old house and then again each year since then for smaller projects. A terrific team of subject matter experts used a proven process to remodel our kitchen to our exact desire. The team reviews our living style (flow of kids, where school stuff is dropped off) to design a kitchen flow. A graphic designer put the ideas on paper to allow us to review and visualize. A contractor weighed in with practical advice (why move a wall for a shelf?) and a designer advised on granite, cabinets, handles etc.. Production was terrific--great communication, periodic updates and straight through with no gaps in construction. A great experience with absolutely terrific results.

We did a major renovation on an old house with Feinmann during the course of a cross country move to Boston. The project included a complete remodel with 3 out of 4 bathrooms, installation of a kitchen island, with counter tops and back splash. New hardwood floors, electrical upgrades, repainting inside and outside and a lot of misc. repairs. During much of the work we were in California or traveling abroad. During the process the communication with management was smooth and effective. Tammy supervised the project and we very much valued her expertise and advice; for instance, in selecting tile, colors and plumbing and lighting fixtures, as well as her creativity in solving problems of an old house. We enjoyed her sense of humor. Andy did excellent work the custom carpentry. Eric almost became like one of the family as he worked on various projects around the house. Major parts of the renovation were phased so that we could move on schedule. All the work was coordinated very well with our schedule, which included dinner parties with house guests during the final phases. The process went seamlessly and we are delighted with the results of our new home.

We are thrilled with our new kitchen and bath. Feinmann created great design options and helped us find the counters, cabinets, tile and fixtures that were exactly what we wanted. We decided on a kitchen, mud area, powder room, and master bath remodel. I really liked that Feinmann could work with us from design to build. We were presented with a few options and were able to make an informed decision about the best plan for our unique space. We contracted with Feinmann to finish our basement. This turned out to be a more involved project than expected because the low ceiling height required reworking many of the mechanicals. [Project Manager] Kyle Dube and [Lead Carpenter] Paul Flynn were very skilled and effective at moving us through those issues and getting to an excellent design and result. I felt that the process was highly transparent. It is harder to comment on cost; in this process, one is basically committed to the vendor before the full cost is known, so one can't easily shop for competitive bids but rather is trusting Feinmann to extract good value from the subcontractors. I did think that the level of service was very high, including on unexpected twists. So I certainly would recommend Feinmann.

Very well done! It was expensive, but we feel that we received quality service and workmanship. When the time came to convert our two adjacent Back Bay studios into a two bedroom apartment and to make that apartment our new home, we turned to Feinmann Inc for inspiration and implementation. Feinmann listened carefully to our needs. Their architect Barney Maier came up with an innovative and attractive plan for the available space. Their design staff, first Kate Yurgelun and then Tammy Russo, worked with us throughout to make sure the end result had the look and feel we wanted. The construction job, led by then Project Manager (now Production Manager) Dave Wittig, seemed daunting at first and was impacted by regulatory issues that were affecting the whole building. But the construction team eventually completed a fine job, deftly solving problems as they arose.. The apartment has been our home now for several months and we’re getting used to receiving “likes” from our visitors and houseguests, admiring its modern layout and comfortable feel.

Our stated desire to preserve the best characteristics of our 1960 vintage ranch while adding 'just enough' space for modern living was simply and elegantly met by the modern style design the Feinmann company developed for us. The project created a light and open living space, unifying the house and previously detached garage, on what had been unattractive asphalt-paved yard space. We now have a well integrated transition to the outdoors and garage via a lower level entry/mud area that is both attractive and functional. During the process of the building, all sub contractors proved professional and courteous, and the usual issues of defective hardware (a pair of leaking doors, defective heating circulation pump and damaged flooring in our case) were addressed promptly and effectively.

When we told friends we were starting a big remodeling project, we got comments like, "It will never be done on time" and "Ugh. Sorry. Construction is always such an awful experience." Clearly, they had never worked with the Feinmann team before. Not only was our project done on time and on budget, but everyone we encountered at Feinmann went out of their way to make the experience as painless as possible. From the exterior scaffolding/staircase to access our 3rd floor - so we wouldn't have tradespeople in the untouched portions of our house- to Chris Gonzales' meticulous clean up at the end of the day, living through a major 5+ month project was tolerable - especially when we look at the end result. When we purchased our home, we called it "the 20 year project." We look forward to working with Feinmann again (and again!).

My wife and I contracted Feinmann as a local design-build firm to remodel our kitchen. We selected one of several designs prepared from our expressed goals and preferences. The work was done over a period of about four months, with minimal disruption. Feinmann set up a temporary kitchen area in our basement, sealed the work area to minimize the spread of construction dust, and interacted with us with respect and professional skill to obtain our decisions about materials and to resolve minor difficulties. The project manager was knowledgeable and very much concerned with representing our interests to tradespeople. The work included relocating our laundry area, reusing old kitchen cabinets in a basement workroom and improving an entryway to the kitchen, all at very modest additional cost. We are very pleased with the project, which achieved our overall objectives of opening our kitchen to views of wooded areas and improving the circulation associated with food preparation and eating.

I have been privledged to work as a color consultant and interior designer for the talented team of Feinmann, Inc., builders and architects since 2008. I have watched first hand how they take tired properties and renovate them into smart, contemporary and highly functional living spaces. The architects convert the most awkward areas into open and well lit rooms. Their team of highly skilled carpenters and painters do great work and are so pleasant. Tammy Russo their lead project manager oversees every detail and always finds a solution.

In 2010, Feinmann completed an entire remodel of our Boston loft condo. We were so happy with their work and attention to detail, we sought them out for a few more changes this past fall. We had them install a custom closet system from henrybuilt, and replace our boiler and hot water tank with an incredibly small, wall-hung, European tankless unit. The work was completed in December, and we couldn't be happier. Their carpenter Brian did an absolutely amazing job installing the closet system. And Bob, their plumber, did an incredible job of maximizing the space in our mechanical room with his install of the Slant Fin tankless combination boiler. Feinmann has now literally renovated every square inch of our unit, and it looks amazing. If we can find any more projects for them, we would without hesitation have them back. Not only are they talented, they take the time to really understand their client and the client’s needs before they propose a solution. Communication is also a key factor to their success, having your home remodeled can be stressful…Feinmann truly works to alleviate that by keeping you apprised of the project during of every phase of the construction.

This was our second project with Feinmann. The first was to rebuild a new family room/porch which we absolutely love! This project was more extensive as a kitchen gut and expansion. They provided excellent drawings to conceptualize decisions and respond to our preferences. Their craftsmanship is superior, and all the trades people/subcontractors used, and Feinmann personnel, were a pleasure to work with. Project Manager Tammy Russo must be singled out for her commitment and attention to detail. Tammy suggested many of the product choices for us to consider, but permitted the final decision to be made by us, the client. The project budget increased from our original target, of course, but changes were by mutual consent and there were no issues that resulted in any friction. We enthusiastically recommend Feinmann for projects of similar scope and complexity. We are thrilled with our new kitchen.

We had previously used Feinmann for a renovation of our 1st floor and kitchen. That was 5 years ago and we still are praising and enjoying the work every day. When we decided to redo our exterior deck, Feinmann was our first choice. The design was excellent as well as the execution. When we hit some design challenges along the way, Feinmann's lead carpenter solved them. We had a strict deadline for the project, since we had planned to celebrate our daughter's college graduation with a party that included the deck. Feinmann met that deadline and we had a memorable occasion! We now have had the deck for two months. We enjoy it for almost every meal over the weekend and often during the week. It adds an extra room to the house which we thoroughly enjoy.

We worked with Feinmann on the total remodel of our home in Milton. Feinmann's team was very thorough and responsible, and made sure our needs and interests were respected in the design and execution of our home. They worked with us at every stage to keep us clear on where we were in the project and what the next steps were. Their execution was quite impressive - I felt strongly that the foreman on the job took personal pride in his work and the work of his team and they were diligent in repairing / replacing items that were less than perfect (scratches in the finish of the floor, etc.). As with most older homes, there were some unpleasant surprises during the demolition phase of the project that caused the overall price to increase, but the project manager was good about calling those out and taking time to work up different solutions so we understood the cost implications the best we could. The results of Feinmann's work are truly excellent, and we are very happy to have worked with them on our project.
