Fran is family now. We started our renovation journey with him a year ago and we’re scheduled for demo in April of 2020. When the world shut down, we asked to postpone the project out of uncertainty and panic. By September we started to feel like we could manage to go forward with the project. Fran put our minds at ease. He and his crew followed the protocols we agreed on and we were off to the races in October. Fran, his wife Bev, his brother John and all of the subcontractors very quickly became treasured family. The work was excellent. The vendors and products Fran recommended are excellent and of the highest quality. We absolutely adore every product, style, color, and finish we chose but I don’t think you could possibly make any terrible decisions from the vendor options he presents. He really just sets you up perfectly for success. We had our entire first floor overhauled: kitchen, dining room, bathroom, living room. The transformation is amazing. The finished product exceeded our expectations by miles. We have function where before there were obstacles. Everything we use and need has an accessible and functional place. We are surrounded by a clean, beautiful, high-quality, homey feeling environment. And in a time when home is where everything happens and where we spend more time than ever before, it’s positively priceless! We highly recommend Kitchens By Design. We would recommend them to our own family and have!

I had Kitchens By Design remodel my out-dated kitchen (new cabinets, a breakfast bar, additional counter/cabinet space and new countertops) and remove a wall in the kitchen to open up into a dining room. Fran came to my house to meet with me in the beginning to get my ideas, budget and offer his ideas/suggestions to the new space I had in mind. After the plans were drawn up and contract signed, I was nervous but at the same time excited to see the transformation. Fran is excellent in communicating the details of the project. I never felt uncomfortable asking questions, and ALWAYS had timely answers to emails and phone calls. Picking out counters, cabinets, fixtures and hardware can be overwhelming, but Fran and Bev made it seem much less so and would spend however long it took for me to feel comfortable about my decisions and that it would look great. All of the sub-contractors on his team were very professional, took pride in their work and always left the space neat and clean after they were done. The entire project happened with minimal disruption and the work completed as close to schedule for it being in the middle of winter. I cannot say one negative thing about my experience with Kitchens By Design. Fran, Bev, Jean and John are fantastic to work with and make you feel like part of the family. I absolutely LOVE my new kitchen. It's now such a beautiful space to cook in and entertain. I would not hesitate to hire Kitchens By Design again and always will highly recommend them to friends.

Talented, creative and insightful! These are the words I would use to describe Fran. Fran was involved in our renovation project from the beginning. He had meaningful discussions with us and our contractor to ensure that our initial, imperfect plan became a beautiful transformation of our main floor colonial home!

We had a tiny kitchen with an adjoining bathroom. Fran came up with a design to move the bathroom and extend the kitchen to what we had always wanted. His creative ideas were beyond our expectations - thanks, Fran!

The Kitchen By Design team is awesome! They helped us design and build the kitchen of our dreams. We like the KBD team so much, we want them to do the rest of our house! Basically, we needed to rip everything out of our kitchen and start over (our counter was a folding table...). We took some measurements and came up with some basic ideas and went around to all of those 1-800-kitchen type places - none of them were very helpful with design and for how much money they wanted, the quality just wasn't there. We saw an ad for KBD, so decided to give them a try. After a couple of quick phone calls with Fran, he scheduled a trip out to our house to take some measurements and help us come up with a design(!!!!) A week later, he came back to our house to show us a design he came up with and it was everything we had talked about. He actually listened to what we wanted in a kitchen and delivered. The KBD team helped us every step of the way: designing, cabinet selection, picking out hardware, faucets, sending us to the best stores for appliances, tile, and counter tops. All of the contractors that KBD used for our project were very professional, from demo to finish carpenters, you can tell that KBD doesn't just hire anyone. The quality of everything in our kitchen is very good. The cabinets are all wood, which was very important to us. At one point, I remember my husband and I were nervous about our selection of colors and materials, we asked Fran to make sure that it would look okay. His response.. "We don't do ugly. I will tell you if it is going to look bad." KBD is a family business, and we felt like part of their family while they worked on our project. We really enjoyed working with them and look forward to the next project! Thank you so much Fran, Bev, John, Ken, Nicole and everyone else!

The Kitchens by Design team did an amazing job with our kitchen renovation. Fran Garofoli’s design transformed our space into a wonderful place for cooking, dining, and entertaining. Since the renovation has been completed we have had many friends and family over and have received so many “Wows”! Before the renovation, our home had all the trappings of a quintessential 1950s house—small, compartmentalized rooms, inadequate work space and storage in the kitchen, and an overall “ho-hum” look. Now, our kitchen is a showplace—giving us all the space we need for cooking and entertaining, and the flow between the living room and the dining room is really outstanding. When contracting with Kitchens by Design to perform the job, we had a strong “gut” sense that we had made the right decision. Now, seeing the finished project and having worked so closely with Fran, Beverly, Jean, John, and the rest of the Kitchens by Design team of subcontractors, we know for sure that we made the right decision. Kitchens by Design’s pricing was competitive, and the level of professionalism and care throughout the process was most appreciated. We certainly would recommend Kitchens by Design. Highly qualified, on-budget, experienced, honest, and professional—in addition to being genuinely nice to work with—is how we would sum up our experience with Fran and his Kitchens by Design team.

One of my favorite things about Kitchens By Design was that the very FIRST step was for Fran (the owner) to come right to our house. We had been to the showrooms of several other companies and were frustrated & overwhelmed by their focus on "here's what kind of stuff we have". Fran came over & within 10 minutes had outlined a general design idea that was right on. THEN we started picking out the "stuff". Fran was very good at getting a sense of what we wanted and assuring us that no matter what came up during the course of the project he would make it right (which was definitely the case). We loved working with John, Bob, Kenny, Brian, Bev & Jean. They all did great work, were very professional, took great pride in their work...and are clearly just all around nice people. I have already recommended KBD to a friend and wouldn't hesitate to hire them again. I LOVE my new kitchen!

Working with Kitchens by Design on my extensive kitchen, bath, laundry remodel was such a great experience that I was almost sad when the project was done! From the moment Fran came to look at my 1930's house with its tiny kitchen and only one bathroom, he asked great questions, listened really well, and made creative, problem solving suggestions. He came up with a beautiful design distinctive from all the other contractors I consulted, at a reasonable budget with no surprises halfway through the project. Fran selected excellent craftspeople to do the work, and was onsite everyday to supervise the quality and progress of an extensive team of plumbers, electricians, plasterers, tilers, and carpenters. He was accessible and gracious throughout, and the end result is wonderful. A sunroom with sliders on three sides is now my sunny, beautiful, and user friendly kitchen, and the tiny old kitchen is now a full bathroom and a laundry room packed with thoughtful features that make living in the house much more pleasurable. I wish I were a better photographer so the real beauty of the design could be seen, but the before and after photos give a bit of a hint. Hiring Kitchens by Design was a very happy choice for me.

We love our new kitchen. We discussed renovating our 1993 builders kitchen for at least 10 years, but were nervous about selecting the wrong design build company - and the disruption of not having a kitchen for months. However our neighbors recommended Kitchens by Design and upon seeing their beautiful new kitchens, we felt confident in choosing them for our project. Fran Garofoli and his team were really wonderful to work with. From design phase to completion our wishes and expectations were met and exceeded. Fran listened to and translated our needs and our like-to-haves into our dream kitchen - on budget and on time. His guidance through the budgeting process, advice on appliances, recommendations on cabinetry and hardware made for an easy and positive experience. Along with their professionalism and expertise, what impressed us was the enthusiasm Fran and his team exhibited toward our project through out the build process. Fran was as excited about and proud of our new kitchen as we were & are. Also, the knowledge that Fran and team are available and accessible now that the project is over - makes us even happier about our decision to engage Kitchens by Design. There is no doubt that we will engage them again for our next project.

We had a large project to renovate our kitchen, formal dining room, sunroom and mudroom. We interviewed a variety of kitchen designers and selected Kitchen’s by Design for our project. I couldn’t be happier with the decision. From the design phase and through the construction, the Kitchen’s by Design team was helpful, informative and respectful of my property. I was particularly impressed with their attention to detail. They were calling out small defects and correcting them before I could even mention them. Fran did the design work and organized the scheduling and I really enjoyed working with him. He listened to my ideas and merged them with his own. He has long standing relationships with the individual contractors working with him. I was impressed with the quality talent. They were thorough, friendly and very talented. His tile person, Matt, asked if he could bring his son to my house to show off the work he did. That is just one example of the level of pride all of them took in their work. Fran held closely to the original schedule and updated me constantly by email and text. It was a bit painful dealing with the lack of a kitchen for multiple weeks (in particular the sink) but Fran set another room up for us with his own microwave and helped move our refrigerator. The end result made the temporary inconvenience well worth it. Everyone who has come by the house raves about the quality of the kitchen and surrounding rooms. The design and final outcome has a real “wow” factor which we were hoping for. Next year, we are planning a master bath remodel and are planning to go with Fran and Kitchen’s by Design for that project as well. I recommend them highly.

From the start, the experience with Kitchens by Design was flawless. After a very successful bathroom renovation with Kitchens by Design my parents finally decided to invest in a new kitchen after 30 years with the prior one. They do not adjust well to change and everybody within Kitchens by Design worked with such patience listening to what was important to both my mother and father in the design of the space. During the renovations, the crew always ensured the worksite was contained during reno, communicated what would be done each day and stayed professional through it all. Fran and Bev were regulars on site to ensure work was moving at a proper pace and was completed at the highest of standards. The end result was much more gorgeous and functional than we could ever have imagined!
