My Experience with Hallmark Grain & Saw Larsson Hickory We installed approximately 1,446 square feet of Hallmark Grain & Saw Larsson Hickory engineered hardwood in July 2025. Before the floor was even a year old, we began noticing the finish/stain coming off certain boards. We reported the issue in March 2026. What is particularly concerning is how uniform the failure is. The affected planks are concentrated among boards of the same length. After routine cleaning with Bona, those boards become progressively lighter and rougher while the surrounding boards remain unchanged. At this point, it feels like we are slowly washing the stain/finish off those particular boards every time we clean the floor. The inspector documented both that the condition becomes more noticeable after cleaning and that the affected boards appear concentrated among planks of the same length. Hallmark sent an independent inspector in June. The inspection confirmed multiple lighter planks, surface marring, and a rougher texture on the affected boards. It also specifically noted that the problems were limited to certain planks while adjacent boards remained uniform in color, finish, and surface characteristics. No installation-related issues were found. Our home's relative humidity measured 35–36% during the inspection, which is within Hallmark's stated 35–55% range for hickory. However, Hallmark denied our warranty claim based on the flooring's moisture-content readings, stating those readings suggested previous exposure to humidity closer to 25–30%. We've been dealing with this since March and waited more than a month after the inspection for a determination. We have been extremely patient, but we've lost confidence in this flooring. Hallmark describes our reported problem as "finish loss in certain planks," yet ultimately concluded there was no manufacturing defect. For a floor that began showing this kind of failure in less than a year, this has been incredibly disappointing. I'm sharing our experience so anyone considering Hallmark Grain & Saw Larsson Hickory, especially in a dry climate, understands our experience with both the product and the warranty process. I will update this review if Hallmark offers a resolution.

I just put in a little over 1000sf of engineered hardwood... I choose the American Traditional series, natural mill run hickory. I couldn't be happier - both with how smooth installation was and the stunning end result! Quality control is very good, with only one chipped board in 1200sf bought (extra for waste/etc)... End of story, it is worth paying for quality material.

I would not recommend this flooring since they have discontinued the floor maintenance kits (ReNu and NuOil). The flooring was beautiful and maintained for the past two years, however since Hallmark discontinued these maintenance kits and relies on a third party solution, a purchaser will never get the flooring to be the same. The flooring using the third party solution wants to use water on a oil base floor and leaves streaks and foot prints within the first two days of cleaning and maintaining. I am not sure if this is to void the warranty, however when you purchase flooring; anyone should expect that the manufacturer maintains their own cleaning products. Whoever allowed the third party supplier for expensive flooring should be fired.

It’s way to early to say how my new floors will hold up but we are very pleased with the look of the Hallmark organic solid Tulsi hickory we had installed last week, it’s absolutely beautiful. The installers commented several times about the high quality of this particular floor. It was not cheap but more reasonable than anything reclaimed that I saw, it’s a nice alternative & has the perfect amount of distressing unlike some of the saw cut that I thought was too much. Flooring galaxy in St Louis’s team did the install,and they were great from start to finish.

We installed Malibu Oak. Floors are beautiful! I looked everywhere for months for something I liked better and I couldn't find anything. So I waited the many months for the floors to come in and it was worth it. It makes the home feel natural and healthier not having any polyurethane on them. It makes the space brighter and everyone that comes over comments how beautiful the floors are.

We did an addition to our home and took our time picking our flooring. I brought countless samples home and we made the decision that Hallmark Alta Vista in Malibu would be the best fit for us. We have absolutely LOVED them! Everyone who comes to our homes always asks about them. They are gorgeous !

We had Hallmark engineered wood flooring installed and within two days of installation the floor began delaminating. I would NOT recommend this flooring. Deserves zero stars.

Hallmark makes a nice quality floor with beautiful finish options. A cool feature on some of the floors we’ve used is the thicker profile—while we install them finished and ready to enjoy, the added thickness allows clients the flexibility to refinish down the road if styles or preferences change. Great product with lasting value!

This review is a little late, but I'm so fed up with these floors that I decided to finally write a review. Here is the back story...we remodeled our entire first floor in 2021. Other than the laundry room and half-bath, our entire first floor plan has Hallmark Monterey Caballero Hardwood Floors, which have now been discontinued. Picking out engineered hardwood floors wasn't easy. Obviously, once a decision is made, you're pretty much stuck with them. We brought home countless samples from multiple flooring companies. We had a designer that provided us with ideas as well. Even after we decided on Hallmark, part of me was hesitant & I even tried looking at other wood floors. Nevertheless, we had to make a decision to stay on schedule with the first floor project. The floors are decent looking. After a few weeks or so, we started realizing that we may have made a grave mistake. These floors are so soft and sensitive that whenever something is accidentally dropped, it either scratches the floor or you notice a significant dent. These floors are not durable whatsoever. Keep in mind that we do not allow shoes to be worn in the house and we have no pets. All the chairs/furniture, including the range, are fitted with Scotch guard floor protectors. Yet, with all these safeguards, there are several scratches and dents in various areas. They look awful! It gets worse. From the get-go, we noticed footprints every time. This includes footprints with bare feet or with socks. Even after using their TrueClean Floor Cleaner, as required, we notice footprints immediately. These floors are too difficult to keep clean. We contacted Hallmark and the flooring company that we bought the floors from. They had a person contact me and I explained the issue we were experiencing. He instructed me to clean the floor with a damp cloth, which I did, and asked me if I noticed residue. I did notice a residue. The residue on the cloth was the same color as the TrueClean cleaner. Nonetheless, I was told that they could not help me further and that this wasn't covered under warranty. Even though my specific flooring was discontinued, they are still offering the Monterey collection with the same finish. We deeply regret this decision. I would stay clear of Hallmark Floors.

We took our time picking the right floor and selected Hallmark. It is now installed and looks beautiful. Richards Carpet and Flooring in Ham Lake MN did a great and timely job. They put together a schedule and me it precisely. The 5" Hallmark product looks beautiful.

We chose Hallmark floors because we needed to remove the carpet and have something durable because we have dogs. Hallmark floors are durable and look beautiful—we have the Clyde Maple. Originally, we were going to put them in our kitchen/living room and hallway, but I loved them so much when installed that we added on and put them in all of our bedrooms, too. Not only is Hallmark flooring a joy to look at, but it's also a breeze to maintain. Compared to our previous carpet and laminate, it's a world of difference in elegance and ease of cleaning.

My finance and I purchased our first home in March! We installed the regatta spinnaker oak floors ourselves…it not only transformed the space but we were able to do it in a weekend! We absolutely love the floors - the quality is obvious and the color is perfect a perfect, light, natural shade. Highly recommend.
