We greatly enjoyed working with Tyler and his Haven Hill team. They were professional, timely and detail-oriented and made sure we were informed and comfortable with each step of our renovation process. Our renovation was beautifully completed and we would highly recommend working with them.

After meeting with several potential contractors, we chose Tyler Jackson and Haven Hill Builders. They started the job on time, they came every day, their crew is excellent (great guys and great craftsman), their subs are excellent and came when they needed to come.

We hired Haven Hill to do a complete renovation of our home. It was a major project complete with many challenges that only a professional could solve. Tyler and his team were outstanding - true professionals. They were timely, prompt and courteous. The quality of the work was top notch - I would characterize them as craftsman, not builders. Tyler has an eye for detail and design (better than the architects) His subs were carefully selected and managed. But most importantly, Tyler was very conscientious about meeting our expectations and exceeding them. It was obvious that Tyler cared more about delivering a quality experience and satisfied customer than his company's financial performance on the job. That is a quality that is shared by few, and the one that sets Tyler and Haven Hill above the competition. In short, we received a high-end product, delivered on time and within budget from a team that was a pleasure to work with.

He turned our garage into an elegant, very cool, and very comfortable little house! Also to note, we stayed near budget. Our end result, in our minds, is spectacular and our little house could very easily be showcased in the best architectural/design magazines. We plan to enjoy it for a very long time!

Haven Hill Builders recently completed the construction of our 3000 sq. ft. home and we could not be happier. Owner, and general contractor, Tyler Jackson, directed all phases of the project from excavation to completion of all the fine finish carpentry. Throughout the process, he provided numerous and invaluable consultations. He kept us informed every step of the way, and always took the time to answer questions and to research options. Tyler, along with entire team of highly skilled craftsmen and sub-contractors, demonstrated professionalism throughout the job. They were always polite, helpful, and meticulous about their work. The crew was always very conscious and respectful of the job site, taking care to keep it clean and safe on a daily basis. As a general contractor, Tyler has amazing ability to remain calm and to provide reassurance in a manner that evokes trust and confidence. He is able to diffuse the stress that can accompany the huge task of building a custom home. It is hard to imagine finding a more capable, hard working, and fair individual or a team of such highly skilled individuals. Every item that Tyler has crafted for us has been nothing short of exquisite, from the installation of French doors to custom concrete work, their teams hard work and artistry shows. They are a pleasure to work with, they can make the room or home you envision a reality. I highly recommend them to everyone.

I have built 10 houses over my life and Haven Hill has built the last 2 for me. They are by far the best builders i have ever used. It would be unfair to call Tyler, the owner, a General Contractor because he brings so much more to the project than construction of an architects ideas. Tyler is a designer and artist at heart. He knows what works in a house and can translate your ideas into a very beautiful and functioning living space. On top of this he also builds furniture and has designed and created some very beautiful pieces for both me and my friends. If you can get him for your project (he is obviously in high demand) it would be a big mistake to use someone else.

Tyler has led multiple renovation projects in our 1905 home in Portsmouth starting with the kitchen, mudroom, and back deck. The next year he totally renovated our third floor, and our second floor bath. And the following year he rebuilt our front porch and renovated our first floor bath. This summer we are hoping for a few additional renovations with Tyler. The hallmark of Tyler's work is respect for the history of the home, and a respect for the wishes of its owners. Tyler is a creative thinker, and an excellent collaborator, excited by the challenges of renovating an old home and by the surprises and opportunities that emerge during the renovation process. He is also highly courteous and an excellent communicator when engaged in the project. One anecdote - we have a particular type of woodwork throughout our home that is classic and beautiful. Several of the rooms we renovated did not have the original woodwork intact. Instead of finding a substitute woodwork, Tyler found a machinist to make a tool that would allow him to recreate the original woodwork, and worked with our painter Neal Katz who recreated the original stain. This one decision, initiated by Tyler, helped to create a design integrity throughout our house. One more anecdote - when we renovated the kitchen, two of the original windows were replaced with windows of a different shape and therefore were no longer needed. Tyler saved them in his workshop, and when we renovated the third floor the following year, he brought them back and used them to open up the back of the house to an awesome view of the backyard and our trees. His philosophy is that nothing should go to waste. Thank you Tyler and your excellent team!!!
