My wife and I worked with Heather and Mat on the interior design of our Keuka Lake home. They were incredibly responsive and came to each meeting with great ideas, recommendations and CAD drawings to help us to really visualize what the finished space would look like. Each time we were struggling to find the right finish, pick the right product and refine the right look, they would go the extra mile and find us something special that we hadn't considered or seen before. Plus, they were fun to work with and a great addition to our project team. We have now been in the house for about three months and everyone who has visited us, has been blown away by how well the project came together and how beautifully everything looks. Thank you Heather and Mat for helping us make our new home such a special place.

With Heather and Matt we built Carnegie Cellars from the ground up. There was a dirt floor and exposed beams and with their guidance and inspiration we were able to create something very special and unique. They went out of their way to incorporate our vision and their expertise. They communicated with us at every step of the process (it took about 7months) and were always available to talk, do a site visit, or make a change to the plans. Their personal attention detail also set them apart. They found an artist in the Finger Lakes that created an amazing scultpure that defines Carnegie. On a daily basis, people comment on our space and the decor. We could not be happier with the services that Heather and Matt provided.

When my 100-year old mother's antique farm house required a complete renovation due to an old steam heating system explosion and resulting water damage, Heather came to the rescue to assist with bringing that living space back to its original unique beauty. I called on Heather and her husband Matt a year later to assist with a local restaurant renovation. The result was spectacular. Heather and Matt were brought into the design/build process at a very early stage, coordinating at all points with the architect, builder and owner. They were integral in achieving an outstanding result, on time, and on budget. They were crucial in obtaining furniture, fixtures and equipment during a Covid period when supply chains were unreliable using local craftsmen, labor and materials. I am so happy that the stars led us to Heather DeMoras Design Consultants!! We've been working with them on various projects for 10 years, and have been incredibly happy with the results. Heather and Mat are a pleasure to work with, are super talented, can easily align their design recommendations to match the style of their clients, and do a phenomenal job with project management. I am so thankful that we found Heather and Mat! We've worked with them on two major projects in the last two years, and are so pleased with the results. Our kitchen, primary bedroom, primary bathroom, and powder room are more beautiful than I could have imagined! Our kitchen is more functional than any kitchen I've ever worked in before, and I love spending time there now. Our bathroom is the bathroom of my dreams. And small details in the bedroom, like a slightly raised ceiling, just make it feel special. They are incredibly gifted designers. They listened to what we wanted, looked at the style of our house, drew up amazing plans to choose from at the beginning, made adjustments as we needed them, took me out to see things in person, worked with our contractor, and saw the project through to the end. The rooms look updated, they look like they belong in the house, and they reflect our style. They were very detail oriented and made sure things arrived when they should and construction people were here when they were needed to be. They reviewed the details of the design with the contractor before the project started to make sure everyone was on the same page. Heather and Mat also thought through solutions to problems that could impact the designs before they became problems. For instance, we had hard well-water and they directed us to someone who could address that while we were still in the sketch stages, knowing that we would want to protect our new fixtures. They were also creative problem solvers, and even figured out how to get more natural light into our bathroom without a skylight. It was easy to communicate with them. Heather was always a phone call, text or email away. If I left a message, she always returned it very quickly. When we hit the bumps that come with any renovations, Heather and Mat found a way to fix them. For instance, we lost our contractor just as the work was supposed to start and they found us an amazing new contractor. If you are new to major renovations, it is really nice to have someone with you to guide you through the process. I would encourage anyone to work with them. I would also encourage you to listen to and take their suggestions. One example, was that they suggested a rounded edge at the end of our counter in the kitchen so we could put a stool there for someone to sit. I didn't think it was going to be necessary because we don't usually hang out in the kitchen, but I trusted them. Now we are always hanging out in the kitchen. We still have three rooms left to finish, and I can't wait to work with them again! They are very professional and extremely talented.

Heather and Mat DeMoras are both very professional and capable, and the bonus is that they are also gregarious and funny too. We enjoyed working with them, laughed a lot, got a lot done, and never felt uncomfortable expressing our opinions. We had some design aspects that were challenging and confusing, and Mat and Heather were never stumped, they were able to guide us in problem-solving all of them. We had a wonderful experience working with Heather DeMoras Design! I initially reached out to Heather based on her reputation and seeing examples of her work. Heather suggested we meet before beginning the project to make sure she understood our expectations, and to get a feel for our style. Given our busy work/family life, I was grateful for all that she did. She shielded us from much of the stress that can come along with large home renovation projects. And she took on the role of a well-organized, "type A, get-it-done, but don't rush good decision-making" project manager. As we worked together, she presented a variety of design ideas and often spent time refining those ideas in order to make what we thought we liked even better! Heather was a perfect liaison between us, the contractor, and the various vendors we purchased product from. She pulled everything together seamlessly and made sure that the contractor had what he needed, when he needed it. No detail was overlooked, and Heather was always a quick email, text, or call away if we needed anything. Heather DeMoras Design Consultants helped me with two homes, one a large country residence (2002), the other a 1967 Mid-Century Modern home (2012). In both instances I was thrilled with the results. HDDC brings a discerning eye, a fine sense of quality, and attention to all details and the budget.
