It was a pleasure working with Heather on two full bathroom remodels this year. After months of trying to figure out how I could fit what I wanted into my principle bath Heather came in and nailed the perfect layout immediately. She brought such a wealth of knowledge and design acumen that having her guidance made the project so much less stressful than I anticipated. She quickly understood my style and preferences and always took them into consideration, making sure every detail was something we would be happy with. Heather recommended great contractors and handled communications to ensure the design was built as she envisioned. She was communicative throughout the process and had a consistently wonderful attitude; every meeting with her was a really great experience. I love the new bathrooms - the functionality and design is perfect for us - and would love to work with Heather again in the future.

Heather made this job (an entire kitchen remodel) to be a seamless venture. My husband and I are both extremely pleased with the endresults. The contractor she recommended was also par excellence and she saved us the hassle of having to interview potential contractors. Even amidst the pandemic Heather kept this project rolling along with no glitches. Heather will be an easy choice for our next project. Her knowledge and expertise took most of the guesswork out of this remodel.

Heather at Kirk Riley Design was amazing when we had a forced re-furnishing (some flooding) in our house. We'd worked with her a few years ago when reupholstering furniture so contacted her because she was the Design professional we knew. Heather was very responsive, helping us choose new flooring, tiles, carpets and paint within a matter of days. Not only that, she facilitated installation of the floors, the necessary repair work, and even the painting of the entire area --- within our very tight time frame. (We had guests coming for the holidays). The entire lower level looks so much better than before and is not just updated now but sophisticated! I've recommended her to friends, all of whom have been delighted. Plus she's easy to work with. It's always fun to see what great ideas Heather has for us.

Heather just finished helping us remodel our home’s 1940 original, awkward kitchen. We really wanted to maintain the vintage feel of the house while gaining all the modern day upgrades. We had consulted with other designers and they just couldn’t give us a plan that seemed workable to us. We knew from our first visit with Heather that she was the one for our family. She had endless great ideas and the experience in working with old homes that we had been searching for. We ended up taking out a wall, but adding a beautiful archway where the wall once stood that matches another arch in our dining room. She found us the most beautiful tile for our back splash that has been a wonderful conversation piece with guests. To tie the newly open kitchen in with the rest of the house, Heather found us a range hood and floating shelves in the same wood tone as the living room. We were especially thankful for Heather’s guidance in making the everything from the countertops to the drawer pulls feel like our style. We love our new kitchen!

After deciding to renovate a number of rooms in my 1950’s era, cottage-style home, I quickly realized I needed some design help. Heather was fantastic throughout the whole project, bringing fresh ideas for how to reimagine key spaces while keeping the charm and family history intact. She really listened and understood my style (which was all over the place ) while offering up suggestions and options I hadn’t previously considered, but that achieved the exact aesthetic and feel I wanted. She made the entire process—from design to materials to contractors and finishes—easy and manageable, and I’m simply in love with the final results. Thank you, Heather!

Heather guided me past my aingst about letting go of a mid-century 1956 time capsule kitchen. I loved many things about it, but needed to increase functionality, improve storage and open up the area so it didn't feel like a closet. I now have a beautiful, open concept kitchen with mid-century lines that I love! I will be giving Heather a call when I am ready to do my next project.

We love our new kitchen and the other updates we have had done to our home! Heather has great taste and was enthusiastic about our little old (1939) home and in helping us make decisions in keeping with the overall style of the house while also making the most of the space. She is extremely knowledgeable and brought a number of items to our attention that we had not thought of or been aware of which was extremely helpful as there were many choices that we were faced with throughout the whole process. With her help we felt confident about the investment we were making in our home and ultimately we love how our kitchen looks and functions! We brought Heather on board after years of contemplating the awkward (and deteriorating) kitchen space in our craftsman home. Heather was able to imagine a layout that provided the capabilities we were seeking. She then assessed our style leanings and showed us material and finish options we would have never considered without her help, that worked beautifully together while complementing the home's existing gestalt. We really appreciated how Heather could discern and respect our inspiration while ensuring the integrity of the overall design, and on occasion gently pointing out how some idea-x is maybe not going to play nice with idea-y. Heather always brought energy and insight to our collaborative encounters. Her vendor and contractor relationships were invaluable. Oh, and the finished space... awesome!

Choosing Heather to design our 1914 Craftsman kitchen/dining room remodel was the best decision we've made as homeowners. She listened carefully to all that we wanted, asked the right questions, gave us realistic advice, and proposed exciting ideas like swapping a window and a door, tearing down a wall, and wrapping the stove hood with tile like a chimney. She helped narrow down all the detailed choices, was patient with us, kept us positive through surprises we found in our old walls, and actually made the entire process fun. It felt like a true collaboration. Thanks to her and the incredibly talented contractor we never would have found without her, we have our dream kitchen. We will hire her again for future projects and cannot recommend her enough!

Friends who had recently remodeled their home referred Heather to us. We wanted to update our living and dining areas but didn’t want to spend months looking at floor, paint and furniture options. One of the most beneficial aspects of Heather’s services was her ability to find compromise between my design preferences and my husband’s. Heather provided guidance and expertise from start to finish on our kitchen remodel! It was hard to imagine what we could do with our small 1930s era kitchen. From the initial meeting with Heather she had great ideas for how to improve our space. She designed the appliance and cabinet layout, helped us select appliances and fixtures, and suggested opening a wall which divided our kitchen and living room. This provided better lighting and flow in our living room and made the space more functional. Heather helped us line up contractors and vendors to get the job done on time and within our budget. She also helped us tie in other small home updates such as new fireplace tile, new porch light, and some exterior cedar shake siding that gave the house a refreshed look. Heather listens, gives a variety of product choice options, and is flexible. She never pushed us toward one style or another, but helped us stay within the overall design concept. We had talked with several interior designers and kitchen remodeling companies before meeting Heather and we are so glad we chose to work with her! Our kitchen and living area are beautiful and work perfectly for our family's size and lifestyle. I can't recommend Heather highly enough!

Heather was wonderful to work with on our master bathroom remodel. She helped us every step of the way and connected us with a wonderful contractor that really nailed the construction. Despite some hiccups with the shower door company, Heather was able to keep the project moving forward and completed quickly.

Heather helped us redesign and remodel our master suite - bedroom, bathroom and walk-in closet. She is creative, helpful and adaptable. Our project is beautiful, and we had so much less stress than we would've had because Heather is so skilled.

We have been COOKING in our new kitchen for over a month and it is fantastic. Heather's design expanded our kitchen area substantially, making it open, bright and incredible. Heather had a knack for blending with our personal style and we have a beautiful, functional kitchen! She guided us through the whole process and has an awesome support team behind her. Heather from Kirk Riley Design was amazing. We purchased a brand new house that was very modern and different from our old home. She helped us navigate an amazing color scheme that gelled beautifully with the new furnishings she picked out. The process was simple and a lifesaver with the many other things we needed to do. Our rooms pulled together in an easy process that is both comfortable and stylish...which is a killer combo. She even helped us pick out the art that went on our walls. I believe the money we spent on Heather saved us 10 fold in not only our time in trying to select the right items but also the money that would have been wasted on items that we thought would work but would not have worked.

Heather Kirk Riley is simply the best. I moved across the country from a 805 square foot condo to a 2,100 square foot house - to say I needed everything (and fast) is an understatement. Heather took the time to really understand what I wanted, how I worked best, what my budget and priorities were, and where/when to push me out of my comfort zone - which is exactly what I wanted. Heather helped me choose the perfect paint colors and provided a recommendation for a fantastic painter. She also provided great recommendations for a custom window seat, ottoman/table, and couch. Both the materials and craftsmanship were impeccable. When I first saw the window seat fabric I thought "this woman is crazy," but I trusted her judgement and I'm crazy about it -- it's now one of my favorite piece in the house. I love to mix high end pieces with some values and she enthusiastically embraced it,. My very pricey custom ottoman is next to a super cool vase from Target. The best part is that when friends and family walk in, they say that my home exactly reflects me. My My parents are moving to town next year and after seeing my place, my Mom is already planning to call Heather to help design their new place.

I really appreciated that Heather was in charge from the begining to the final touches. With so many choices in even something like a faucet, she listened to my needs then just have me a few choices. She was great in coordinating all the contractors so I didn't have to. She is very down to earth and worked around my schedule. I love my new kitchen!
