We really enjoyed working with Holly on our recent landscape redesign project at our beach house. She was a perfect fit for the cottage garden aesthetic we wanted that we know will grow and evolve into the mature garden of our dreams. Our project required a complete demolition of the previous landscaping followed by an installation of a cobblestone patio, retaining wall, several paths, a new fence and over 200 new plantings. I wanted beautiful landscaping for 2 bedroom WW II era bungalow in North Portland. My hope: Make it one of the two most beautiful landscapes in the neighborhood, something to brighten the look and feel of the entire double-long block. First, my gardener wife and I drove all the blocks in North Portland, looking for the most beautiful yard. When we found one that stood out from ALL the others, we knocked on the front door and asked the owner who designed it. Answer: Holly Stickley of White Pear. I called Holly immediately and set an appointment to meet us at the property. She listened well to our wants and don’t wants, then gave us several new-to-us ideas. Next she created a great design. Because there were so many different plants of different sizes in the design, I can't imagine going to a commercial nursery, finding the particular plants and then transporting all of them to the house. And then, the amount of work to plant them. Holly arranged for all of that, including a contractor to prepare the ground and install highly efficient drip irrigation to lower the water bills while feeding the plants more appropriately. Finally, she oversaw the plantings so everything went precisely according to design. Even better than I’d hoped for! Thanks to Holly, we now have a splendid assortment of attractive plants and trees. Holly’s designer eye gave us the landscaping that definitely improves the look and value of the property. A 10 on a 10-scale for sure!

Holly and Savannah did an incredible job. Definitely, by far, the best looking front and back yard in our 280-home development: or in our 40 years as homeowners all over the US. We get compliments almost daily and requests for a tour. Great to work with and worth the cost. Many landscape companies tell you they can design your yard. However, they do not have a professionally trained designer on staff, and it ends up being a rehash of similar projects they did elsewhere. You really need someone whose job it is to just do design and suggest the best company to execute the plan. Look on her website to see the classy, elegant and flowing designs. Holly suggests the type and location for trees and shrubs that are best for the locale and personally comes with her team the day of the install. She works with you regarding the selection and design of the type, materials and layout for the stairs, retaining walls, pavers, lighting, ground cover or anything else you need that fits your budget. She and her team have an option to come to your home quarterly to oversee and maintain your investment. For the serious homeowner who sees their home as an investment, choosing The White Pear is a no brainer.

I knew straightaway that Holly was the perfect fit for my project. During her initial consult she immediately addressed the problem areas and provided solutions. She was able to deftly create a cohesive design, linking three distinct areas that I had struggled with for a few years. She took time in the design process to work with me to fine tune the details. She connected us with very professional and dependable landscapers, designed a functional update to our current layout and sourced beautiful plants, shrubs and trees.
