In 2013 We turned to Homestyle in desperation after experiencing costly and shoddy renovations with individual contractors and questionable home renovation companies. Homestyle was recommended by a neighbour of ours who is a partner in a home construction company. They referred smaller Reno jobs (under 500k) to Homestyle. To our surprise the owner of Homestyle turned out to be the same gentleman who did a small number of Reno projects for us in the early 1990s, shortly after we purchased our home. Cal had done excellent work, and we were extremely satisfied. However there was a change in the name of his company and we lost touch. Cal and his crew renovated our house in the summer of 2014. It was a major renovation with a focus on addressing and up grading heating, exterior, and the interior. A major aspect of the work was addressing previous renovations on the house by previous owners and to some extent unqualified jack of all trade contracters. Six months later we moved into a beautifully upgraded home. Cal and his right hand man, Scott, made the disruptive nature of the process and the myriad decisions so much easier to manage. His crew's work is first rate, and they were unfailingly polite and friendly. The financial process was straight forward and easy to manage. Importantly We trusted Cal and the quality of the work and materials, which contrasted with our experience with previous contractors and their workmanship. Since moving back Homestyle has been very responsive in coming to our aid to assist with small jobs- removing and installing a major appliance in the kitchen, as well as minor fixes and repairs. We can't recommend them highly enough.

We had HomeStyle renovate our kitchen, bedroom and two bathrooms. They were extremely professional, friendly and knowledgeable through all of it. Helped in the planning stages, were efficient, courteous and skilled during the renovation itself. After completion there were a hundred little details that needed attending to and they had no problem coming back out and fixing or replacing small details- like a drawer pull- promptly and without complaint. We would, and in fact, are planning to use them again in the spring. When they say they will do something or that the budget is set- it will be done and the budget doesn't inflate mysteriously. Don't hesitate to go with Home Style.

We hired Homestyle to take down an old garage and put up a new one in a mature yard. We wanted a garage to match the style and colours of the existing house; we wanted to move the garage to free up as much back yard space as possible; we wanted to save mature trees and fencing. From planning to the the initial demolition to final touches in construction, Cal was knowledgeable and professional in all aspects and very helpful guiding us through the entire project. The demolition was done with almost surgical precision - a young cheery tree within 4 feet of the old garage was left unharmed. Cal helped us through the maze of city permits and red tape, with gas and cable, and the misinformation and delays with our power supplier. Amazingly, Cal was always in good humour. Homestyle's crews showed up when promised and gave us reasonable notice when delayed. Communication was very good. Final cost came in very close to budget and there were no surprises. We are very pleased with the final project and we would not hesitate to recommend Homestyle.
