Impact Builders Inc. is a family run business, recognized for their unique, high quality homes and their commitment towards client satisfaction. We regard each home as if it were our own, taking a hands on approach to ensure that the finest building materials and optimum workmanship goes into every project. Impact Builders Inc. has over 17 years’ experience in general contracting, project management, development, framing, foundations, siding and interior finish. In 1997 Impact Builders started at Big White Ski Resort where they specialized in exterior finishing. The natural progression for Impact Builders was to build homes from plans to completion and this came to fruition in 2000. Impact Builders is well-known for their superior craftsmanship and dedication to meeting the needs of the homeowner. Impact Builders Inc. has also completed their own development in the Lower Mission that produced seven high end Custom Homes. A HPO (Home Owner Protection) registered builder, Impact Builders has sought out and maintains a construction team with over 75 years of combined experience, and with their hands-on approach ensures that the finest building materials and optimum workmanship goes into each and every home. As a builder/developer we have noticed that the change in the real estate market meant a change to work efficiency. Homes are being built in a more cost effective manner without jeopardizing the quality. Time frames are becoming easier to acquire and budgets are managed carefully. Communication with the homeowner has been key in determining how and where to get the best value for their money without sacrificing their vision.

We hired Impact Builders to do a huge renovation (pretty well a new build). They also built a brand new deck and a roof over the deck. We were shocked at the amount of over contract expenses they were charging us as well as some faulty workmanship that they would not fix. Windows were put against soffit so no room for trim etc. After five years the new deck and roof they built was starting to slant. They refused to come and inspect or repair without a $500.00 secure. We hired a builder and found that Impact Builder's staff put waterproofing around a 12 x 12 cedar beam that was on a cement form they poured! Rain water actually seeped into the waterproofing material that they used and rotted out the base of a huge cedar beam by nearly a foot! Nice guys but would not recommend this company as they do not repair, fix or warranty their faulty work or craftmanship or supervise their staff. We were charged for staff that were not even on our site (no shows), stat holidays and many other items. We had to keep track of when staff did and did not show up as they never checked in on them It was very stressful when we trying to negotiate our bill with them as it was almost double the agreed prices.

In response to your review we would like to say we apologize you were not satisfied with your services from Impact Builders however I would also like to shed light on our stance on the situation. We continue to stand behind our quality, workmanship and staff and this does not change that. Throughout the process we did try to find middle ground to rectify the situation but felt you as the client did not hold up on your end of the deal monetarily or otherwise. Unfortunately we cannot guarantee work/ material provided by the client which resulted in a faulty outdoor living space. In conclusion we believe that Impact Builders did our share in providing the best possible service while adapting to the clients needs however the experience was less than rewarding for both parties.

We hired Impact/Chad to remove and install over 35 windows and doors. We had a energy test done on our home before and after and the air leaks were worse after the new energy efficient windows/doors were installed. They did not reseal any of the vapour barrier and the following summer we had ants and wasps coming through the house. The inside trim had to be redone twice as it was crooked and full of nail holes, as they had sent a beginner carpenter with no helper and no experience. We then had to put new siding on as they had just left holes all along the outside of each opening, basically no weatherproofing. We were told that they would sue us if we didn't just pay up. So disappointed!!!!

Impact Builders does share a small portion in the responsibility for the problems that happened during the course of this project, but the presentation of the facts in this review is misrepresented. To provide more insight into this situation, let me start by saying that the window company referred impact Builders for the installation of the windows and doors to this client because we had done admirable work with their products in the past. Many previous clients have been thrilled with the standard of quality and professionalism provided by Impact Builders.
In this situation the client hired our company to perform certain duties for their home renovation, but when we supplied them with quotes for the costs of these services (including Hardi exterior and vapour barrier) the client rejected them because it was too expensive for their budget. So we were re-contracted for only the installation of the energy efficient windows and doors, and the client decided to do the other improvements themselves.
Our company performed the necessary changes to install the windows and doors, and the installation of the windows, doors and insulation for these was compliant with the code at the time. The client was not satisfied with the energy efficiency of their renovation and blamed Impact Builders for certain things such as sealing the vapour barrier, but our services with these issues, however had previously been declined.
As it was previously stated, Impact Builders did share in some responsibility of the problems experienced during this renovation. We did have a carpenter perform less than excellent work with this renovation, but we were quick to rectify this mistake. As soon as we were informed of the quality performed, this employee was immediately removed from the project; we terminated our contract with them, and will not work with them again. Impact worked quickly and professionally to fix the mistakes made during this project, which was at substantial expense to Impact Builders, even though the main issues of energy efficiency were clearly and contractually not our responsibility. We value customer satisfaction, as customer service is one of our top goals, and we pride ourselves on the integrity and quality of work. It is very disappointing that we could not retain a positive relationship with these clients, as we strive to have long lasting relationships with all of our customers, and make them happy with our services. This situation has made us try harder to gain the trust of future clients to let us take control of the whole project, so a situation like this does not happen again.

The Jones brothers (who own this firm) did a great job for us. The house was just finishing the drywall phase when we bought it. Impact was very flexible about letting us change things within the house and helping us stay on budget. The final product is one we love and are happy to come home to every day.

Several years ago Kyle, Dwayne and Chad from impact builders patiently led me and my family through the process of designing and building our first home. The home they constructed for us was a one of a kind custom designed and built home. I cannot say enough positive things about the entire build process and the resulting home. We are now proud to live in a spectacular home in a great neighbourhood. I would go through it all over again in an instant if we ever wanted to move. Impact Builders is a knowledgeable, professional and experienced group who make custom home dreams come true. I would not hesitate recommending them to anyone.

With the sale of our home and a quick possession date, we needed to find a home in a new city in less than 6 weeks. We searched for a solid week for our dream home and saw one of Impact Builders homes under construction on our final day. We immediately knew it was the one. Within two days we bought the home and finalized all our selections with the Impact team. As we lived out of town, the brothers kept us completely up to speed throughout the final build and quickly worked through any decisions that had to be made. With such a tight time frame to get the home completed, they pulled out all the stops to ensure we could move into our home by our non-negotiable move in date. We are still in love with our home four years later.
