Jacob Evans Kitchen & Bath

The oddball layout of our 87 year old bungalow kitchen presented a real challenge and Jacob Evans stepped up to the task. They transformed our dysfunctional kitchen into a show stopper. Jen came up with an amazing and extremely functional design/layout. She really listened to our needs and sometimes quirky suggestions. It was evident by the final designs she presented to us, that she truly cared about us getting the kitchen we wanted. Installation was done by Kevin Zhukas of Zhukas Construction. Kevin and his crew were professional and did an excellent job. Kevin added some of the artistic touches that made our kitchen unique. We absolutely love our new kitchen and are 100% pleased with the stunning & beautiful results. Thanks again to all at Jacob Evans!

JE did our kitchen design and all cabinets in 2012-13. Our experience since shows some serious (but elementary) errors of design/placement. Some of the "gimmick" devices (e.g., swing-out trash can) turned out to be unusable. Above all, the durability of the pricey painted Duracraft cabinets turned out to be quite unsatisfactory, despite our specifying durability as a primary consideration. In places, the paint has blistered, the composite material has swollen, etc. Some of this was evident during the first 3-4 years.

We could not be more pleased with our new kitchen, dining and laundry rooms. Their design has transformed our entire first floor. Jacob Evans was the only firm that really listened to us and looked past the immediate kitchen space to finally create a space that worked for our family. We were nervous to remodel to begin with, for all of the obvious reasons, but this process could not have been smoother. We will recommend Jacob Evans to anyone considering remodeling.

Jacob Evans made the process of renovating our kitchen so easy and problem free! They were responsive and easy to schedule with throughout the planning process. They took the time during our meetings to familiarize us the all the options that are out there (cabinet styles, countertop finishes, etc.). They took our style and preferences into consideration and helped us create the bright and beautiful kitchen space we wanted for our home.

We are just moving to the Pittsburgh area and concerned about finding reputable companies to design and remodel our 78 year old home. We found a number of companies on houzz, interviewed them and selected Jacob Evans. Working with Jacob Evans was a fantastic experience, I highly recommend them! They listened to what my wife and I wanted, then they produced a design that delivered. Jacob Evans helped us selected all the finishes and made that process very easy. Even better, they introduced us to a General Contractor (Pittsburgh Remodeling Company) that they vouched for and had used on prior projects. The GC did a wonderful job on our project as well! We had a budget and Jacob Evans worked within that budget, making sure our financial concerns were addressed and met. Our project was completed on time, the materials were delivered on time for installation by the GC. The GC delivered on his timeline and the workmanship is excellent. I commend both companies for their synchronization of logistics, always having materials and manpower on the job, every day. The entire experience was pleasure and a great introduction to our new city and home. Thank you Jacob Evans and PRC for making our remodeling project a dream come true!

I meant to write this review earlier; however, I think I spent all weekend admiring my new kitchen and showing it off to family and friends. Having an older home with a small kitchen and no real room or budget to expand didn’t prove to be much of a problem at all for designer Amanda Johnson from Jacob Evans Kitchen & Bath. She took a small space and made it seem larger and more functional. I can’t thank Amanda enough for all of her assistance. She simplified the process and eliminated searching on an on for materials that fit my vision. In fact, she took that vision and enhanced it beyond my dreams of what my space could accommodate. Amanda was always available to answer my questions and reassure me of my selections. We met with her numerous times throughout the project. The construction of the kitchen is superior. Tim is meticulous in his work and it truly shows. Tim is very professional and takes a lot of pride in what he does- and that is a huge benefit to his clients. He is very detail oriented. From beginning to end, Amanda was there every step of the way. From our first meeting, there was a comfort and confidence in her knowledge. I would definitely recommend Amanda for any kitchen or bath projects. I have to admit, this far exceeded my expectations in what could be done to a small space. Jen Debski is a design genius! All I wanted was to add a kitchen island to an old-school U-shaped kitchen design. She gave me so much more! It's so functional!

We are thrilled with our final results! We met with Mike Bonato to discuss remodeling our kitchen and his vision for our home was spot on. Everything from the cabinets, backsplash, lights, hardware, and flooring were perfect choices. The ease of use with working with Mike was the most impressive. He knew our vision and was able to narrow down choices for us. As a busy, working family this is what made the remodeling process a breeze and low stress. His contractors were professional, detailed, clean, polite, and hard working. I would highly recommend Mike and I look forward to working with Jacob Evans in the future.

Jacob Evans remodeled our kitchen in 2014 and then our bathroom in 2016. Both jobs were complete gut jobs down to the studs. Both experiences working with Jacob Evans were excellent! Jen Debski was our designer each time and she did a fantastic job listening to what we wanted while adding her professional expertise.

We hired Jacob Evans after meeting Michael Bonato and working through some estimates to have some extensive renovations done to our kitchen. Michael's approach was everything we were looking for in a professional: He has a keen and perceptive design eye and will help guide you to appropriate design choices while remaining open and receptive to the homeowner's choices. He was willing to do as much or as little of the work and worked closely to align schedules with the homeowner's independent deliverables. He provided high quality products and access/choices to others that spanned a reasonable spectrum of pricing options. Bottom line: Jacob Evans delivered exactly what they said they would, for exactly what they said it would cost, in exactly the period of time they scheduled. We would use them again in a heartbeat.

Having worked with Jacob Evans on many renovation projects as a general contractor, we always welcome their professionalism and design ingenuity. This is a great relationship we hope to keep for many years!
