This is not our first time building a home, but it was by far the best experience. Jacquelyn helped us build our new modern farmhouse in Alexander City. She was fabulous to work with! She has great ideas and helped us stay on budget. Her subs were top notch and they do top notch work. Would highly recommend.

My wife and I recently built a home in Auburn Alabama and selected Real life Builders (Jacqueline Dixon) as our builder. She had previous done some remodeling on our master bath at our lake house. We used Jacquelyn of Real Life Builders to remodel our bathroom last April (2015). The remodeling included replacing the tub with a (dual) shower, replacing the vanity and mirrors, replacing the carpet/tile with new tile, and restructuring the closet. In short, it was a complete makeover. She completed the job on time and on budget ($16K). We could not have been more pleased. We love our new bathroom, it has been one of the best things that we have done to our home. Jacquelyn was a pleasure to work with, and very professional. She made sure everything was done right and stayed with it until it was finished. We are planning to remodel our kitchen and we use her for that project as well.

I have worked with Jacquelyn for eight years, and in all that time she has always maintained good relations with her customers. Very detail oriented, she is always on the spot overseeing the job from start to finish. I have done custom cabinetry and trim on many projects with Jacquelyn which afforded me the opportunity of witnessing her on the site directing skills. Jacquelyn converted our screen porch into a sunroom; she also installed some stone raised beds for our garden; and has worked with us on other home improvements. All of this turned out better than we expected. She is trustworthy, creative and professional in all she does. She is also a talented interior designer, and combines these skills with her ability as a general contractor. We develop apartment communities throughout the Southeast, and always relay in her to select colors, finishes, flooring, cabinets, lighting and hardware for our projects. Two of the developments she's assisted with have won national or state awards. I highly recommend Real Life Builders, whether for a small home improvement project, a custom home, or as designer for a large-scale apartment community.

Two projects were completed very well for us. The first being a master bath and master bedroom remodel. The second was construction of a three car garage, as well as a pool deck and fence renovation. Jacquelyn is very organized and a great communicator. She also has a vision for the way a project should turn out and uses her design/graphic skills to make that happen. My husband and I had admired a renovation across lake from our lake cabin on Lake Martin for a couple of years. Through a search on the Houzz website, we identified Jacquelyn Dixon, Real Life Builders, Inc. as the designer and contractor on that project. We contacted her through Houzz and got a response right away. Not knowing what we wanted to do to our cabin, but knowing we needed more space for our growing family, Jacquelyn patiently listened, made recommendations, then designed a renovation of our cabin to fit our needs within our proposed budget. Through the design process, we realized our budget had to be increased to provide us with a final project that would work for us long term. To make us comfortable with our budget, Jacquelyn allowed us to complete our project in stages, completing each stage at or under budget before we committed to or began the next stage. We were under budget at each stage of our project and are currently finishing up the last increment of our lake home renovation. Jacquelyn, has been very easy to work with. She has provided suggestions and options for us to choose from that would keep us on task and within our budget. She has been very flexible to our changes along the way and has steered us through the project without overwhelming us with decisions. Our renovation has been an exciting and rewarding experience and has resulted in a lake home that we are very proud of and plan to enjoy for many years with our growing family. Jacquelyn made it all happen. We are grateful.

Moving across country and needing a home to accommodate the living situation which included elderly parents, we ran into problems find a house to fit our needs. I found Real Life Builders on Houzz.com, called Jacquelyn and was impressed from the start. She 'got it'. She understood our needs and we are in the process of building our home with her! She is in tune with her clients' wishes, budget, personalities and is fabulous to deal with! She is on-site to make sure everything goes as planned and her contractors appear to love her and respect her, which, as a woman builder, this is a testament to her skills and passion for what she does.
