Grayson Alchemy

Grayson Alchemy designs small rooms — powder rooms, guest bathrooms, butler's pantries and home bars, the rooms most designers treat as an afterthought. A commission begins with a conversation about the room and how you live in it. What comes back is the room drawn as a finished interior — every paint color, wallpaper, fabric, light and piece of furniture chosen and specified — with a complete shopping list naming where each piece comes from, antique, vintage and new. You order from it yourself or hand it to your contractor. The work is hand-painted wallpaper and chinoiserie, saturated color in the right sheen, lacquered joinery, unlacquered brass and antique marble. One room from $750, about two weeks. Remote, worldwide, from Beverly Hills.
