From a blank canvas to a home that truly feels like us. Working with Kelly Shepard Design completely changed the way we feel about our home. We had recently purchased the house but hadn’t moved in yet when we first met Kelly. She even came to our existing home for a walk-through, taking the time to understand how we lived and which pieces we wanted to bring into the new space. When we bought the house, it was nearly 5,000 square feet of white — white walls, white ceilings, white cabinetry — beautiful in scale but missing warmth, texture, and personality. Kelly immediately saw what it could become. What we appreciated most was how well Kelly listened. She asked thoughtful questions, understood our personalities, and designed around the way we actually live — including the fact that our cats are part of the family. She carefully incorporated meaningful pieces from our previous home, which made the transition feel personal and seamless and helped the new house feel collected and layered rather than newly finished or staged. Nothing ever felt forced or overly trendy; everything felt right for us. Kelly has a remarkable eye for layering color, materials, and texture in a way that makes a space feel both elevated and comfortable. The process was collaborative, organized, and genuinely enjoyable, and we always felt confident in her guidance. She brought warmth and character into the home while keeping everything refined and cohesive. Now our home feels sophisticated yet welcoming — finished in a way that reflects who we are rather than just how it looks. Kelly is a talented, smart, savvy designer. She worked closely with my husband and me to transform our townhouse. She spent time getting to know us, listened to what we were looking for, and provided many options within our budget. She worked to provide alternatives if we wanted to see more options, she facilitated ordering, scheduling deliveries, working to make everything happen while we lived in the house and around our work schedules. I still can’t believe it’s the same house. She made sure we were 100% satisfied with our choices once they were delivered and in place. Throughout the project she was available to answer questions and to provide solutions. Can’t recommend her highly enough!

Kelly is amazing and I would hire her again without a doubt. She understood what we wanted immediately and had fantastic and beautiful ideas. It is my absolute pleasure to share my experience working with Kelly Shepard. From our very first consultation, I knew I was in very capable and creative hands. Kelly is beyond what we thought we were getting with an interior designer!! Our project took 3 times as long as what was originally planned for and had complications she never dealt with before. She continued to lead and provide us with the comfort knowing things would work out. Her professionalism, love for her clients, passion in what she does goes above and beyond any expectation. She rises to the occasion when things get hard and treats every project as if it’s her own. Her vision and knowledge in interior design is one that is not easy to project onto a client. We LOVE what Kelly did with our home! Without her, we would not have such a beautiful home to come to!

Kelly is an absolute pleasure to work with. She designed the remodel of our two bathrooms and project managed their installation. She has a lovely design point of view and adapted it to not only our tastes, but our ways of receiving information which made it possible to collaborate as much as we wanted to. Once she understood that we responded to physical materials more easily than digital designs and we communicated best in person, that's how we frequently worked together. Kelly has great resources and access to materials and labor and great ideas on little touches that make a design feel personal. Whether it was the custom cabinets she drew up to compliment other shapes in the house or tracking down the perfect tile, Kelly persists until the design is right. This was true of her project management too and we couldn't have managed the logistics of that without her. She went above and beyond to make sure it was completed to the standards she set. I worked with Kelly Shepard to renovate our church parish hall and adjoining bathrooms. A drab space with tables, chairs and fluorescent lighting was transformed into a beautiful, comfortable, warm and welcoming space. Kelly was an absolute pleasure to work with. She has a strong, guiding vision, paired with an open mind and ability to listen and collaborate. She is a no-nonsense manager, and has assembled a talented team of excellent craftsmen. Kelly did a fantastic job designing our living room, family room, bedroom, entryway, and dining area. She captured our style preferences very quickly and very accurately; she was easy to work with despite; flexible; creative; and accommodating. Kelly was mindful of our budget, flexible in her approach, and diligent about finding options that met our aesthetic and budget. She sourced art, furniture, and other pieces from a variety of great sources. We also had a few specific pieces of furniture we wanted to keep, and Kelly worked around them to create a cohesive design. We are extremely happy with the results of Kelly's work and highly recommend her to anyone looking for an interior design. We would work with Kelly again in a heartbeat.
