Keuka Studios, Inc

I don't recommend Keuka Studios. They don't honor their contracts and the quality of their products don't justify the costs. Contract states 55lf of glass railing. I received 27lf and management tells me the rest wasn't included. They built a small exterior stair landing about 3x3 and the metal deck is warped by over an inch. Interior mono stringer came marred and dented. Not the quality you would expect for 2 stairs that cost over $100k. Ben, who did their design was great to work with. The rest of the experience with Keuka has been crummy. They are not very responsive when there are issues with their products. Unfortunately I'm now seeking legal resolution. Save yourself the headache.

We have a "regular'" house - but an awesome view. Our deck looks out over a lake, a small airport, and the mountains beyond. I wanted to make sure that we could see all of this from the living room or the deck - no matter what the weather. We chose a Keuka railing and it is perfect. It looks the same today as it did when we installed it about 10 years ago. I've attached two images. Rich

I'm not surprised by all the 5-star reviews here. We had a great experience with Keuka as well, and it's always a leap of faith using a new vendor found online. For a new build home, I wanted a cable railing system with custom posts, not a cut-to-suit kit look. We went with the simple look of their Ithaca style. I bought their hardwood handrail as well. We had our finish carpenter install the posts and rail. Our painter stained and finished the handrail in place. I came in later and installed the cables myself (couldn't get a sub to do it.) Everything passed inspection. Cables went in pretty easily, and I like Keuka's cable tensioning system better than some others I have tried. There was one hole missing in a post that I had to drill and tap myself--Keuka acknowledged they missed it. But I still give 5-stars because the finished product turned out so well.

We “accidentally” found Keuka cable when we wanted to replace our deck after Hurricane Michael. The only regret I have is that I didn’t know they had a whole design team that would help walk you through the process! Jason was wonderful in answering all of my questions. The cable system is STUNNING!! It was easy to install. Some of our neighbors have different “railing” systems and have trouble with tension. The Keuka system does not have any of those issues. The installation videos were extremely helpful. We would highly recommend!!

We had a small deck (20x12) That had pressure treated uprights and rails. Old and not maintained by the previous owner. Plus it looked like a prision with the thick wood. After looking at Glass and cable as options, from various vendors, we picked Keuka-studios. Could not be happier with the system. We went with Keuka-studios style, and as we are on water, the "ribs" of the ship fit well with the overall motif. Quality was top notch, we had one rail that had some blemishes, they took it right back and sent out a prefect one (issue can happen) right away. Very very professional, would not hesitate to use them again or recommend them to anyone to use in their projects. Very knowledgable and the uprights and cables STILL look new after 6 years. I am changing the top rails for a different style so no "actual" picture at this time.

We completed a $2M+ remodel with multiple decks using the Keuka style rail system installed by our local steel and custom metal fabricators. I have no problem stating that Keuka Studios was absolutely the best sub-contractor we dealt with on the entire project. The product far exceeded expectations and our local metal fabricator installers called their boss to the job site just to see the quality of the materials, welds and fit and finish. Since our decks our Ipe, we had 2"x6" Ipe milled for top rails. Turned out great. The company and project manager Jason could not have been better. Truly outstanding.

We installed the Ithaca Cable railing in our home 10 years ago and still love this timeless product. The staff was easy to work with and responsive. Even now, i'm looking for some extra parts and they are right on it. Great job guys.

We designed two custom steel and oak staircases for the interior of an historic renovation in Siasconset MA on Nantucket. I have worked w Keuka in the past, and once again they delivered two perfect products. The design and engineering was flawless, a perfect puzzle for us to assemble. The quality of the powder coating was supreme, and even the thick white oak treads and rails they supplied were so well made, and of such a high quality stock! When you need something custom, AND right, turn to Keuka. They will not let you down.

I own Build NY Services, a construction company on Long Island NY, and I hired Keuka Studios to provide me with powder coated rail posts and stainless steel cables for a very large deck job. Their product was second to none and their customer service was even better. I have continued to use their company for additional projects since then.

Ordered custom deck railing. They were responsive and amongst the most professional I have ever worked with. They provided excellent design drawings and the materials were delivered on time. The quality of the railings is amazing. All the materials were well above my expectations and the order came with the tools needed to install the stainless steel wire as well as the stainless steel lag bolts for the posts and screws for the railing top. I am not a professional and installed the railing myself easily over the weekend. Outstanding company.

Searched for black metal railings with wire instead of spindles for quite a long time. Very happy I found Keuka Studios on Houz. It was exactly what my wife and I wanted, at an affordable price. Jason and his team worked with us to measure the old railings, angles, lengths and heights. Poured through the dozens of pics we submitted to them. Asked a few questions. And were able to design, build and ship a beautifully finished railing system in less than 3 weeks! From 600 miles away. Without ever stepping foot in my house. Incredible. No problems with the install. No left-over parts. Perfect fit and finish. Can’t thank Keuka Studios enough for their total professionalism. Please use them with total confidence that you are getting a high quality product from a high achieving company!

We did our whole house with Keuka, both interior stair railings and exterior porch railings. The design process with Dan was collaborative and fun. Their fabrication was on time. Some of the boxes arrived with some damage but those steel stanchions only had minor scratches which the touch up paint corrected. My contractor had some questions about installation and Jason, Dan, and the whole Keuka team was immediately responsive and helped all the way through the process, including sending additional parts when needed. The railings are now a centerpiece of the house and constantly commented upon by visitors.

I cannot say enough about the quality and professionalism of the Keuka team. We had a custom cantilevered stairway and over 1200 square feet of deck railed in stainless steel with the Keuka Ithaca system on our mountainside home. The results are spectacular. Refined, discrete, letting the 2000ft views come through. The cantilevered stair way, L-shaped with a landing, is a metal work of sculptural quality. The Keuka features have added to the value of the home (by bank appraiser opinion) several times the cost of the materials and install. Dan came out to VT and did his own measurements. We then did several 3D online 'fly thrus' so we could visualize features before manufacturing started. Everything was expertly packed, shipped, and fit like a glove. Superb experience overall.

Jason and the rest of the crew made it so simple to design the exact system that we were looking for to fit our lake house. We could not be happier with the look and quality of the finished product for our unusual application. I wanted a rail system that was unique and strong for a large home deck especially for rural Kansas! I came across this rail system by using "Google" search with photos and immediately was in awe of the design that looked like an airplane wing! The chosen style was a perfect match for my deck as my home sits upon a hilltop overlooking a river valley! Being from Kansas, I was afraid I was in over my head with this project as the company is located in the state of New York! Optimistically, I forwarded pictures of the home, deck construction plans with dimensions, and within 1 week I had an email quote and a proposal design! Jason worked with me on this unique structure, as I had a bowed balcony front, and 2 flights of stairs. There were customization on corners and angles had to be precise! From the acceptance of proposal to the shipping of the materials, was about 5 weeks. During the whole processing time, I was notified when the project would be in the factory, and then when it was in shipping. The shipping was very organized with each package pieced and labeled in very neat detail. My corner posts and intermediate posts were packaged individually in labeled boxes with cushioned stiff foam, not a single scratch. Each cable set was tagged with a code referencing number, matching the print for installation diagram. The invoice was very organized and easy to understand. I am elated with the outcome as my private contractor constructed this project in 2 months without a single visit from Keuka Studios! Maybe 4 phone calls in all to verify some questions, but truly huge job well done by Jason White and the team at Keuka Studios, and to my private contractor! NOTE: From a seated perspective, I used the cables so that the ordinary rail posts wouldn't restrict the picturesque view! The Brazilian walnut handrail was the cherry on top! -- A year later, now posting this review, I had a couple maintenance items that I needed to adjust with the cables. I misplaced a tool and 2 cables had "spun" out of tension. I contacted Keuka Studios, and Jason answered the phone. I was intrigued that the owner of the business answered the call first and that he took the time to explain how to remedy the cable issue. He emailed me my photo of the deck, which he still had on file, and asked if the 2 cables were the ones as marked in the photos. He was spot on! Jason offered then to send the tension release tool and the 2 different lengths of cable to me, free of no charge! That is Customer Service! NET net...Great Product Design & Great Company! Price would have been a deciding factor, however, I would not want to live with the risk of a flimsy rail from a competitor! Huge bonus on Customer Service/Care....dedicated to make sure from start to finish, that the final product says, Keuka Studios!

We are a custom door and hardware company which provides high quality German made products. Bartels Doors& Keuka Studios worked on a joint collaboration of Bartels' sliding hardware and Keuka custom sliding gate for a project in the Bahamas. The staff at Keuka Studios were very easy to work with and we hope to have many more joint projects in the future.

We are a miscellaneous metals contractor in the Chicago area and were working on a very fast track retrofit of an existing warehouse building which was transformed into a manufacturing/office headquarters for an aerospace industry supplier. The architect design team waited until almost too late to design the interior communicating stair and two monumental stairs leading into the factory. To the architect's benefit he specified Keuka Rails for the stainless steel cable rails at all stairs. With much consternation I proceeded to work up pricing for all three stairs and called Dan White of Keuka. From the time i sent Dan the drawing link for pricing to the time we finally installed the rails, Dan was the consummate professional. Giving him the history of why we were where we were in a very shortened schedule, Dan fully understood the need to act quickly in getting us pricing. We were able to get approval with the owner withing a couple of days. The the owner threw another cog in the wheel. He wanted 3" thick precast stone treads with the rail posts passing through the stair treads. Dan was able to take not only our steel stair drawings, his rails drawings and the stone manufacturer's drawings and with his 3D drafting software was able to coordinate these three trades and tell us where we need to weld our post tabs to our stringers, he actually drew the stone treads and located exactly where the holes would need to be placed in their treads as well as coordinate his rail material to pass thru the stone treads. Had Dan not done all the things he did I don't think we could have pulled this project together and completed the stairs on time. I will always be in his debt for the wonderful job he did. There were a couple of small items that were needed to be fixed but again, Dan, Jason and Keuka were spectacular in their performance. The rail looks excellent and the stone worked and our stairs interacted perfectly to make for a very special stair and rail that the owner is very pleased with. My hat is off to Keuka and Dan White.

We are a custom home builder and we used Keuka Studios for a recent project and we were very impressed by their attention to detail, shop drawing process and delivery of railing system. The finish product was beautiful and most impressive.

When bidding this job I sent a floor plan to Keuka and they gave me a fair price and stuck to it throughout the job. When it came time to order they sent someone from their company out to measure even though the job was in California and they are based out of New York, this was extremely helpful. All the products we received were of the highest quality and relatively easy to install. I would be happy to use Keuka on other jobs in the future.

Talk about the compliments we get! Everyone who comes to our lake cottage comments about our cable railing -- it's aesthetics and quality. We used Keuka Studios (KS) to construct our cable railing. We didn't know a whole lot about cable railing, but knew we liked the look. Our friends had used KS for their railing and were very satisfied. KS takes the time to explain design options and their website is terrific for this as well. Our job was pretty straightforward, but we were amazed at their creativity and diversity of jobs when we looked through their gallery of work for other customers. Highly recommend. We plan on using them the summer of 2015 for phase two -- cable railing for a stair case on the side of the cottage.

I purchased an elaborate rail deck and porch rail system for a very large lake home . The team at Kueka was extraordinary to work with. Completing the design for the system was nothing short amaizing. The team at Kueka made the process easy and acurate. The quality of the product was beyond my expectations. The entire experience and the final product makes our lake home truely unique. I am in the construction industry myself and building a boat dock for my personal home, so finding a reputable company with a quality product was important to me. I found Keuka-Studios on Houzz and found their cable railing to be exactly what I was looking for. I contacted them and found them to extremely helpful and easy to work with, even though they are in N.Y. and I am in Fl. We sent them what they required in regards to drawings and measurements, I felt the price was reasonable for the product we were looking for.When we received and installed the railing it was beautiful and really was the final piece of the puzzle for the type of dock we were envisioning. Everyone that comes and sees our dock are taken back by the quality of everything we put into it including the railing system, it separates us from the rest of the docks on the lake. Keuka Studios designed and provided the railings on our lake house. They were very professional, easy to work with, responsive, and the result is outstanding. People stop and ask where we got the railings. We are very happy with the result.
