Lux Lighting Design

I’ve worked with Doreen on three projects over the past 15 years — one large residential project and two commercial ones — and she continues to exceed my expectations every time. Her attention to detail, creative vision, and ability to use lighting as a powerful design element are truly impressive. Doreen is incredibly responsive and always has a smart, elegant solution for any lighting challenge I’ve encountered. Friends, family, and colleagues often ask who created our lighting plans, and many have gone on to work with her themselves. A little annoyed about a customer service issue. I ordered a Sonos Arc, featured on Houzz for a price of $829. Ordering this directly from Sonos is typical $899 (in fact that is the price everywhere). After placing the order, Lux Lighting increased the price to $949. Instead of doing what every other retailer would do, honor the order which was waiting on for an installer, they canceled it. I only discovered this because I used the chat feature on Houzz to check on the status. the response "Thank you for your feedback. We will be looking into this and update if warranted." I would not shop here again.

I've worked with Doreen for a couple years now, first for some basement renovation work, backlit cabinetry and now some bedroom lighting. She's the best - always responsive and helpful, has great design sense and easy to work with.

I am currently building a new house and needed a lighting design. The house is unique and I really had no idea what kind of lighting to use, especially on the outside. Most lighting places just want to sell you lights, so you don't really get a good "objective" design. I found Lux Lighting online and corresponded with Doreen, and they were exactly what I wanted. They provided a detailed design of what lights to put where, including the electrical schematics, switch locations, types of lights they recommended (by part number and brand), etc. With that info I could complete the wiring and compare prices for the lights from different vendors. The exterior up-lighting and down-lighting was totally different than anything I had done in the past, but I installed it as designed and it turned out great (see attached picture of partially completed exterior, before the stone and siding were installed. I'll try to update later with stone and siding installed). Very nice accent lighting, but not overdone. I'm still installing the interior, but with 18' tall vaulted ceilings Doreen has specified multiple recessed lights in specific locations; I would have had no idea where (or how many) to install them otherwise. Overall I have been very pleased with LLD, and much prefer paying for a design vs having someone sell me lights. Doreen was very responsive to my questions as I ordered and installed them, and so far everything has turned out very nicely.

I really am always astounded by her lighting design and choose of lights. As an electrician that has worked for her since 2006, She seems to always come up with great designs and products. You would think that I would be used to her style of lighting but it constantly changes and her knowledge of lighting is exceptional. It's always a pleasure and exiting to work with her.. Dean. Lighting can "make or break" any design project. I've known and worked with Doreen for many years. As a colorist, I've found that working with Doreen is always a pleasure. Knowing that her work will enhance any project provides the confidence that the results will be great. A consummate professional with an extremely high level of creativity, Doreen is always knowledgeable about the latest developments in the field of lighting and design and how to make the best use of them, both interior and exterior.

Doreen was amazing. My two story condo was extremely dark and I needed an expert to help determine the best lighting options. Her recommendations were spot on and the house looks beautiful now. She took care of everything for me! Not only did she order all the lights and supplies, she managed the electricians. She wanted to make sure that the lights were in the exact spots she wanted them and pointed in the proper direction for the lighting to be optimal. This was a comprehensive project and I am extremely happy with the results.

Doreen was so helpful in getting the perfect light fixture for every room and to match our homes style. She has gone above and beyond in getting every lamp needed, and getting our lighting project finished so quickly! She has been such a pleasure to work with and we are so grateful to have found her!

We had very poor lighting in our family room. We have a 15 foot cathedral ceiling and knew we wanted cove lights but not sure how to really go about it. Doreen came in and provided us with a complete lighting plan. In addition to cove lights, she recommended LED recessed ceiling lights. The room was transformed! Doreen was a delight to work with. She listened to our needs and the end result was amazing. I would highly recommend Doreen for your lightning needs.

Doreen from the first meeting is very professional and offers great advice, demonstrating her deep knowledge of every aspect of her field. We requested a full update to most interior lighting schematics and complementary design support. Doreen has very sophisticated and tasteful suggestions as well as aware and sensitive to price points. Her electricians were in our house for a long time, but were also some of the nicest, cleanest, quietest and professional and she stopped by everyday they were here to ensure there were no questions or snags. I would not think twice to call Doreen and Lux Design for all lighting design.

With many different lighting solutions, she will use her vast experience to enhance your property from the inside of the home to the outside. She is well versed in all the new technology and works hard to find the best ligthing treatments for your specific needs. For a model condominium I was selling, the outcome was superb! Doreen created a mood with her lighting that set a wonderful and exciting atmosphere as soon as one walked into the home!

Lux Lighting Is a speciality design lighting firm headed up by my favorite lighting person Doreen Lemay. She is a ball of energy, completely gets what you are trying to do, stays with it until she gets it right. She has done three houses for us and two yards. Subtle beuatiful and unique lighting that is soft sensual and easy to live with. In my Weston house we have a ton of art that needed to be lit just so and we are there. For me its all about the light and Doreen gets it right. Be prepared to pay for it, but you will not go wrong working with Doreen.
