We have just finished a 14 month renovation on our 1915 home and COULD NOT have done it without Mary and Suzy!! We loved their design, color, light fixture, hardware and faucet fixture recommendations, which we have used throughout the home! They were always very responsive, super upbeat and positive along the way! As experts in the industry, they know the best quality products and vendors for pretty much anything! Every time we ran into a question with plans for the house, Mary and Suzy came up with the solution! My husband and I said multiple times over the last several months that working with them helped make a difficult renovation so much easier and that we would have been lost without their broad spectrum of knowledge! With their help, we've been able to turn a house that was in much need of updating into the home we were hoping for and love!

Words cannot express how insanely smooth, stress free, and wonderful my master bathroom remodel went. Susan and Mary handled every single detail and thought of everything. I ended up with the bathroom of my dreams and am SO glad I had these two to hold my hand through everything. The contractor they recommended I work with was so professional and also made me feel safe and taken care of.

Mary and Suzy helped us redesign our kitchen and butlers pantry. They were very thoughtful in their design and open to our ideas. They patiently worked through a few different ideas. They respected our own design preferences and budget. Their contractor, Matt, was equally talented and thoughtful. We're thrilled with our new space and would definitely work with them again.

These two are the hardest working and one of the friendliest teams you could ever want to work with. I did a complete kitchen renovation and although it is on the small side, I got treated with "huge kitchen" service. Once they got a feel for my likes, all of their suggestions were "spot on". Kept me well informed through meetings, texts, emails, even during some weekend/evening hours! My five star rating is given with absolute certainty.

My husband and I had discussed turning an interior deck (enclosed on three sides by our home) into an interior room for a couple of years before we hired Mary and Suzy to help us. We had never used an Interior Design professional before, but I have to say that this was the best project decision we made. Mary and Suzy introduced us to Java Construction which was a perfect match for us. We probably never would have found Steve Hartung on our own. They were both very patient, never tried to overpower us with their own ideas, managed to weave all our ideas (often conflicting) into a coherent design, and helped us develop a reasonable budget to achieve what we wanted. I would recommend them to anyone designing a new home, a remodel, or just asking for advice on their own design ideas. I will definitely hire them for the next project I tackle.

Deciding to remodel our 5,000 sqft house located in the middle of the woods was courageous to say the least. Finding Mary Culbertson and Sue Haggblom of Centered Interiors was a pure stroke of luck. They changed our home and touched our lives in ways no words can accurately describe. The project included several large steps: 1. Turning a cluttered basement into an eclectic, contemporary, vibrantly colored living and entertainment area, with sleeping sofas and swivel chairs, a huge flat screen TV, inviting soft lights, a new shower reminiscent of a Caribbean beach, a new built in cabinet, a remodeled bar, and breathtaking accents 2. Whole remodeling of the master bathroom 3. Complete transformation of the kitchen, from a cluttered dysfunctional space to a blissful "Kitchen of the week" winner for Houzz magazine. Mary and Sue designed and planned with accuracy, talent, and passion; they worked tirelessly and effectively with contractors and made the impossible happen when it came to deadlines; they resolved inherent conflicts with diplomacy; they took inspiration from the existing accents in our home, from my scarves, my purses, my fabrics, my jewelry, my stories...They employed the best available resources, from local artists to renowned family own business, and they took nothing but perfection for the final product. Indeed, it took some change of plans, and sending items back for minute details we wouldn't even have noticed. Their expertise on the state of the art in everything from construction materials to appliances and furniture stores was second to none. They managed to ALWAYS be here for every single step needing attention (daily at times), yet they were never in the way. They patiently waited for me to become available on the phone, or wake up late after a busy night on service. They kept things going when we were working abroad, and did not allow for our absence to delay the project. They made use of the slow times by helping out with house cleaning, constantly dusting, organizing, mopping the floors, sweeping the deck, brushing our dogs. They always brought a smile, creative ideas, and encouragement. When we were working from home, we would be sharing stories about our lives, finding common interests and passions, and before we knew, these talented professionals became two of the best friends we ever made. Our master bedroom and bath are simply beautiful thanks to the quality design services from Mary & Sue at Centered Interiors. They are true professionals with an eye for detail. We received VIP service from start to finish. I have had the pleasure to work on many remodel projects with the best in the business and I would certainly rank Mary & Sue among the top! Every morning I have the biggest smile on my face when I walk into my new kitchen. Dare I say it’s the most stunning kitchen in Louisville? We think so! Mary and Susie helped us make our dream a reality. We completely remodeled the kitchen, and added a sitting room and new deck. From our first meeting I knew they were the right team for us - they understood "the look" we were going for and appreciated our need for functionality. They were responsive and worked with the contractors and vendors when we weren't available. Everyone worked around the clock so that we had a kitchen for Thanksgiving. They were fun and creative and always gave us multiple options to consider. And as crazy pet owners, they were so sweet to our demanding ole Katie grrrl. (RIP) We highly recommend them.

Centered Interiors is now starting on their third project at our home! We can't say enough great things about Mary and Suzy! They're fun, professional, thorough, creative, whimsical, and always go above and beyond. Their ability to listen to what we wanted, while telling us what we might actually need, and the ability to work within the structure of our historical home was what helped further our decision to work them. It was important that we worked with people who were familiar with older homes and also had similar design interests to what ours were: creating functional, fun, beautiful spaces that make sense for our needs, "fit in" to the look of our 1905 home's style, yet also provided modern style and timeless flow with decor. Projects include: Bedroom interior design, Guest Bedroom interior design/custom built in, full master bathroom renovation, and now full kitchen renovation.

Mary and Susie did an excellent job. We didn't even know where to begin. They helped us visualize how it was going to look with all the drawings. They helped us pick out the tile, colors and everything. We showed them some ideas in magazines and they did all the shopping. They would bring in samples for us to look at. Made it much easier as both of us worked. Both of them kept in touch with us on a regular basis. They were there for the contractors when we couldn't be there. We visioned a stain glass window and they found someone local in town that custom designed it for us. All of the contractors and vendors they found did excellent work. We LOVE our new bathroom. I can't wait until we build our forever home so that they can do the bathroom and kitchen. I would highly recommend them to everyone.

We started working with Mary and Suzy in early 2018. Having narrowed down our kitchen design, we were lost when trying to choose cabinet and counter color, door design, paint, lighting, and more. Since we have no decorating genes whatsoever, they began by asking our likes, lifestyle, wants, and wishes. Since we expanded our remodel to include the entire first floor, and doing all the work ourselves, Mary and Suzy were there to answer emails and our frantic texts, send links for designs and suggestions, and always had ideas and suggestions to make our project exactly what we had hoped. Our project ran through the summer but the outcome was perfect. We're planning another project later next spring and Centered Interiors will be our first call to start planning!
