The work restored key architectural elements of our home helping to maintain its structural integrity, appearance, and long-term durability. We once again collaborated with Spencer, who is an outstanding project leader. His promptness, meticulous attention to details, and excellent communication skills assured our project's success. Dennis was again assigned to our project. His familiarity with our home, his exceptional renovation expertise, and earnest dedication produced exceptional results. MAC Reno did an exceptional job remodelling our kitchen and ensuite bathroom. The transformation results are just stunning! We worked with a great team led by Srdjo, including project manager Adam who was always very responsive and an amazing problem-solver, and masterly skilled carpenter Tim who is a true perfectionist. My husband and I are so happy we got our new office built by MAC Reno Design Build. The new room is also legal as a bedroom, so it will enhance our property value as well as our day-to-day lives. Everyone we interacted with at MAC was professional and helpful. Ken guided us in the design and explained what MAC could do. He was knowledgeable and patient, presenting options, helping us with floor plan details, and getting the plans drafted. He applied for the building permit on our behalf, making that process easy for us. Ken took the time to determine our needs and concerns, then made sure the construction contract addressed them. E. g., he added extra soundproofing methods in the walls, plus information to ensure that our under-floor heating system stayed intact. And the price quoted was very reasonable. Once construction started, he remained in contact with us and the Project Manager, Kelley. Kelley was fabulous as well, keeping us informed by phone, email, and physical visits. She coordinated numerous tradespeople, all skilled at their specific disciplines, letting us know their arrival times and making sure they did everything required. Some workers were sub-contractors, who clearly respected and appreciated working with MAC. She also oversaw the "city" inspections. At the start of construction, MAC carpenters taped durable covers over our floors and put up excellent dust barriers, so we felt protected. Kelley put together an amazing schedule, with enough time for everyone to do their part without treading on each other's toes. The schedule was on the BuilderTrend platform, which was easily accessible and always available. So I could tell the other people in our condo building what was coming up. And the workers were respectful of the neighbours, so we heard no complaints. And MAC brought in a professional cleaner at the end. Nice touch. Kelley and Ken worked together so well. Both are professional, knowledgeable, and easy to talk to, so I was comfortable asking questions and felt in the loop all through the project. I can't imagine trying to do a thing like this without them. With everyone's wonderful work, the end result is fantastic; just what we wanted and more. No floor space was added, but the condo feels larger. The rooms have great flow, and everything feels well-proportioned. The office is comfortable and tranquil to work in. The hallway is gracious and wide, giving great sightlines from the entryway. MAC did an amazing job matching the crown moldings and baseboards with the existing ones. And the MAC finishing carpenter, Tim, did a masterful job installing them. So everything looks seamless. Our home looks better than before, with more usable space. And it also feels "right", like it should have been this way forever. So, thanks, MAC, for a job well done. You did everything you said, finished on schedule, and exceeded our expectations, with no cost overruns. We are impressed. And delighted.

Our kitchen renovation was a fantastic experience from beginning to end. Working with MAC Renovations on a major renovation — adding a loft to my heritage condo — has been an exceptional experience from start to finish. They also supported my goals of integrating smart-home automation and AI-generated design elements — with stunning results! MAC is strata-savvy and condo-friendly — their attention to compliance, certifications, and planning made them a pleasure for neighbours, council and building management to work with. Even the construction financing process was smoother due to their detailed contracts and warranty coverage. I relocated nearby during the project, and this was the best “reno-cation” I could have imagined. I now live in my dream home, and I cannot express my gratitude enough. We had our condominium renovated and it was a headache the entire time. Know the project manager doesn’t come to the project site very much and it’s up to you to look for the problems etc. we had to have the painters back 5 times to fix their work, that never should have happened. There were days/ week where nobody was here, apparently because the trades people didn’t tell the project manager when they were done but she didn’t follow up with them. This job was not worth what we had to pay. If I could do it over again, I would never have hired them.

5 stars, 10/10, A+ from start to finish! I recently purchased my first home, which was great except for the interior looking straight outta the 70s! I spoke with several reno companies about the project. Another one came out to do an in person visit and they seemed very bothered by my questions about general pricing. They seemed to think this indicated I was cheap and concerned about cost, when really as a new homeowner I was simply curious about a rough idea regarding how much they think certain things might cost. Purely for my own interest! This was met with lots of "Oh I don't know if we're the right company for you." I mentioned some of the things I wanted to do and every reply was why that was difficult or a problem. It seemed very elitist and condescending. Enter MAC Renos. During the planning stage I dealt with Srdjo. It was night and day. He answered my questions about general pricing and let me know about HOW they would accomplish the things I wanted done, not why they would be so difficult. He is a genuine pleasure to deal with and left me feeling confident. When the project started I was then dealing with Travis. Also a gem. Travis was not only very friendly, but had stand out, excellent communication. No details were left out, he was proactive with communications, problem solving, and ensuring a quality product. After the project was about half done I was so confident in their services that I said unless there is something you need my eyes on for a decision, don't send me any more pictures. I just wanted to walk into my house when it was finished and be blown away. Well that's exactly what happened! The house looks INCREDIBLE now and I have been getting tons of compliments from everyone! I am over the moon with the result, but past that absolutely everything about this experience was fantastic. From first contact until final inspection I couldn't have asked the to change a single thing. (This is in contrast to an outdoor project I had going simultaneously with a different company. Decent product but absolutely terrible everything else. It really amplified how great MAC was.) In summation, I highly recommend MAC Renos. They are genuinely kind and friendly folks who ensure a top notch quality product. I will be using them again! Soon!

We chose Mac Renovations Ltd to plan and complete a total renovation of our 40 year old condo, and we are so happy we did. The team at MAC Renovations Ltd remodeled a master bedroom and bath and spare room upstairs, and they designed and built a media room with a bar on the lower level as well as a bedroom and bathroom that couldn't be more functional and beautiful. It was a massive project spanning several months. What impressed us the most was the professional manner in which the team responded to our requests and concerns as well as the way they navigated challenges on our behalf. Each "reveal" left us pinching ourselves. It truly felt like our project was being featured on the Home channel! We are so happy we chose MAC Renovations for our first renovation project (full basement renovation). Meeting with Derek for the first time, he provided us with a detailed consultation and estimate. His ideas were spot on and we appreciated his wisdom. Our crew was excellent! They had all the Trades coordinated and on schedule. For us, it was very easy to see what was scheduled using the ingenious Buildertrend software. Any of our questions and concerns were answered quickly and there was great communication between ourselves, MAC (Derek, Colin, Peter, Alexis) and the Trades. Mac Renovations is my preferred “Go To” contractor when I require work on my house, including renovations, repairs, or re-builds. This is based on three premises. 1. Quality Workmanship is first class. The individuals employed (for example, Colin) in my experience have been perfectionists, and the materials used are of high quality. 2. Project Management and Communication The Project management is outstanding. Senior staff were frequently on site to review and discuss progress on an on going basis. Any issues of concern were thoroughly examined and resolved satisfactorily. 3. Value Costing was always deemed reasonable relative to the resultant quality, and accordingly enhanced value of my property. MAC Renovations promises to deliver on time, on budget, and to a high standard of workmanship, including warranties, and they do. Working with MAC Reno is expensive but, if you can afford it, it's worth it for the peace of mind of knowing that the work will be done the way you want it. We have had two home renovation projects done by MAC Reno, one in 2019 (a front room and adjoining dining room) and another recently in 2021 (master bedroom). Both projects involved a refresh of everything in the room, including drywalling over popcorn ceilings, improving lighting by installing puck lights in the ceiling, fresh paint, new baseboards. As well, new wool carpet and underlay was installed in the master bedroom. The the contract price was expensive and, in 2021, the cost had significantly escalated compared with the price paid in 2019 for comparable work. However, we were satisfied with just about every aspect of work throughout the project, including: * timely, frequent, and courteous communication, including the time taken from my initial request and commencement of work * working with a designated MAC project manager is most helpful and reassuring * protection of the area prior to work (e.g., floor coverings and zipper doors to save drywall dust from seeping into other areas of the house). * cleanup of the area during and post-project (although I had to vacuum up some residual drywall dust from bare wood floorboards before new carpet was due to be laid) * the BuilderTrend software allows the client to keep track of the project timelines and payment schedule. We could have used more assistance in moving the heavy items of furniture both before and after the work as it was left to us, the homeowners, to do almost all of this work for ourselves and we are seniors. From my perspective, this should be part of the overall service provided. Terri Wills-Geddes was our MAC project manager for both the 2019 and the 2021 renos and we worked well together. She is experienced in this type of work, personable, forthright, and attentive to detail.

We are pleased with the extensive renovations done on our home by Mac Renovations. The initial residential design done by Ryan Wyllie and interior design by Alexis helped us come up with the perfect plan. We kept a close eye on the project during every phase of construction and we appreciated the quality of work and attention to detail performed by Shawn and his crew as well as the sub contractors. MAC Renovations is the most professional, reliable, accountable company I have ever dealt with. Srdjo Djurkovic took on my project despite a schedule that was very tight. It was more of a rescue. The MAC renovations team recently renovated all three bathrooms in my home. I had Alexis as my designer, Margaret as a project manager, and Colin as head carpenter. We moved walls to enlarge my ensuite, and Alexis did a wonderful job designing the bathroom of my dreams. I was particularly impressed with her eye for design detail; she noticed that she could use an existing closet to make a make up counter for me. The final product in each bathroom is very high quality, I love the attention to detail.

Mac Reno is currently renovating our master bathroom. We have had 3 other successful projects with Mac: kitchen, bathroom, dining room, great room and roof replacement. We hired MAC Reno to remove an old leaky sunroom and replace it with approximately 200 square feet of bright living space, and to complete a kitchen reno, half a bath reno and landscaping at the same time. What first drew me to this company, other than the geographic proximity, was their tag line: ‘A contractor you can trust’. I asked around and found some folks who knew the owner, and highly recommended the company. We were very impressed with this medium-sized company, which we found to be the perfect size for a substantial home renovation. They were small enough that we mattered to them, but big enough to command a flexible crew who could be moved between job sites when needed. They have also built excellent relationships with the sub-contracting trades with whom they work regularly. This meant that they were capable of orchestrating complex days with multiple trades on site, and everyone showed up on time to make it happen. Derek, our project manager was exceptional – he worked hard to listen to our needs and to ensure the communication lines all flowed as needed, so the trades could follow seamlessly. He went above and beyond to ensure that our family suffered as little disruption as possible during the reno. An example of this was to plan for a functioning kitchen for our Christmas eve, which was still very much mid-reno – a feat that even many of his co-workers might have doubted could have been done. The software program that they used to regularly update photos, progress and upcoming events was very user-friendly and essential to the planning process. The other professionals that MAC used during the design phase of both exterior and interior were excellent, and my wife very much appreciated how the architect and interior designer listened to our likes and dislikes and somehow managed to find a way to make everything fit the existing house to make it look like it had all been built that way originally. In particular, she wanted me to mention Alexis who was patient with how we wanted to find exterior paint colours that kept the addition looking updated and modern, while still matching the existing older house colours. The MAC Reno crew, office staff and subcontractors were always friendly and professional, which was very important to us as we had two very curious kids on the loose. MAC’s crew had experts in different areas, such as interior finishing versus framing, which proved very important on a few occasions where there was not a lot of room for errors. We were very happy with the process and outcome of our renovation, and our bright new room has been indispensable while working at home during COVID! I would highly recommend MAC Reno to my family and friends.

The MAC team just completed a kitchen renovation included replacing a large deck. This is the second time we have used them as they complete a two bathroom renovation for us three years ago. They have a great team including the contractors they used. The work was completed on time and on budget what more can you ask for. We recently engaged Mac Renovations to update our home and to complete our basement. Regrettably we had to cancel our plan due to our financial reasons and the time frame for completion due to the scope of the project. MAC renovated the entire upper floor of our townhouse and we love our new space! We can't say enough good things about our designer, Azu. She was a dream to work with and made what would have been an overwhelming project, if left to our own devices, a breeze. She made the task of choosing everything from floors, to lighting, to cabinets....well too many items to list...an easy process. MAC Renovations has just completed, for my almost 100-year-old house, a significant project that I had been thinking about for several years and on which I had had consultations with several other companies. From the initial discussions, I knew that MAC Reno had the experience and the expertise that I was looking for and that their work would be carried out to the highest standards. The fact that they carefully examined all aspects of the project before the construction contract was entered into (eliminating as much as possible any fear of "surprises"), and that I was given, at the outset, both a fixed contract price and a work schedule, were enormous advantages from my point of view. From the design phase to the finishing touches, all work was kept to the predetermined schedule and budget (except where I requested otherwise). The designer, the project manager and all the tradespeople were absolutely professional and always receptive to any ideas or concerns I raised. I am really very happy with the end product and highly recommend this company.

I can't say enough wonderful things about the work that Mac Renovations did for me on my sunroom and front door entrance. I usually try to do my own renovations but this time I trusted someone else to do it. What a success! It was refreshing to let go and let them do their expert work. It would have taken me 10 times as long and it wouldn't have been nearly as well done. They are so easy and professional in their approach. I'm currently saving up for another job for them to do.

Mac Reno came and inspected my home to identify deficiencies in my new home so that I could get the builder to address the deficiencies before my home warranty expired. We hired Mac Renovations in 2017 to renovate our kitchen, as well as adding additional windows and other features throughout our 1930s house. We were impressed with their attention and service right from the start--we got to know Mac's work by touring some of the projects they were working on, and we really appreciated their up-front honesty about the issues (and extra costs) that might arise in working on an older home. In fact, some of those issues did arise, and it was due to the persistence and creativity of our Project Manager, Derek Breen, that economical solutions were found. Derek's attention to detail, creative problem solving and high level of service were what made this major renovation easy, fun and ultimately successful. He worked closely with us through every stage of the project, from our original inquiries through to design and all stages of construction. He always responded quickly to our questions and worries, and went above and beyond on many occasions. We appreciated his commitment to quality, professionalism, and sense of humor. And when the inevitable challenges arose, we always felt as if he had our interests at heart. We were also impressed with many of the highly experienced and knowledgeable Mac tradespeople--whether they were contractors or in-house, they almost always met schedules, solved problems, and added something extra to our project. The final product of our renovation is very satisfying. We were able, with Derek's knowledge and expertise, to build exactly what we wanted: a beautiful and functional kitchen (we like to cook); a light and open dining, living and bedroom; and an attractive new deck that connects us to our back garden. After living in our "new" old house for the past number of months, we can't really find anything that we would have done differently. We highly recommend Mac, and would certainly work with them again.

As long time residents of Victoria my wife and I choose Mac Renovations Ltd. to carry out renovations for us because we were familiar with their excellent reputation. In 2017 they carried out major renovations both to our kitchen and to our main bathroom. I'm pleased to report Mac Renovations staff were friendly, efficient professionals and did great job for us. They listened to our specific requests and delivered a first rate product. In fact 2 months after the work was completed my wife and I still regularly comment to each other how much we love Blaise and Azu's design.

We moved from Vancouver to Victoria last year, into a house that needed a number of updates. After meeting with several firms, we decided to go with MAC. We were impressed with their professionalism and detailed proposal; they really listened to our needs and wants, and they seemed to really get our vision for our home. Over four months, MAC's contractors reconfigured and renovated our three bathrooms; created a great laundry/mud room; relocated closets; replaced windows and doors; raised ceilings and doorways; rebuilt a fireplace; and installed a gorgeous hardwood floor. We particularly enjoyed working with with Derek Breen, our project manager - he understood both our desires and our constraints, and was invaluable in helping us make decisions that maximized the value of the space both for the way our family uses the space and for our budget. Derek kept in close contact, dropping by or calling to check in near daily, dealing with our constant questions and ever-changing whims with professionalism and humour. When the inevitable hiccups occurred, both Derek and the MAC team quickly jumped in to solve problems and address our concerns. Though we did much of the design work ourselves, we appreciated the input from MAC's team of designers - Terri and Azu helped us choose fixtures at the start of the project, and Alexis was amazing in helping us pull everything together with furniture and decor at the end. The MAC carpenters who were on-site daily were professional and friendly, and took time to make sure the house was tidy and liveable at the end of each day. Over the four months, we had many sub-trades in and out of the house - all of them were professional, friendly, and highly skilled. I've lived through several renovations in the past, and this was by far the smoothest and most rewarding experience. I highly recommend MAC to anyone considering a renovation project - we'll definitely be using them again in the future!

MAC was awesome! When we decided to purchase our place we needed a contractor to come in on very short notice to provide some input on what could be done and also provide a quote before we finalized the purchase. MAC delivered! The renovation included a complete redo of the kitchen, bathroom and moving of the washer & dryer to start. But as the renovation started we decided to repaint the entire place and also requested a few upgrades including quartz’s counter tops. Blaise was very accommodating and patient and he even helped us with the quartz counter top selections! The quality of work was excellent and throughout the renovation the place was kept clean and tidy so when we popped in to review progress it was easy to walk through. In addition, one evening we arrived around 6pm and Blaise was also on his way in to do an inspection of progress! MAC stayed on budget however due to us wanting upgrades we blew our own budget but it was worth it! We had a number of new appliance delivered and MAC were kind enough to do the installations for us as part of the renovation at no extra charge. We would definitely recommend MAC as a contractor that delivers quality and that can be relied on. Thank you Blaise and the MAC team!

We hired MAC Renovations to do major renovations to our condominium in Victoria prior to moving here from Vancouver. These renovations included kitchen, master ensuite, powder room, guest bathroom and fireplace. As one can imagine, there are challenges to arrange renos, pick out supplies and feel involved when geographically removed from the site. Azu and Blaise were good communicators from day one and they posted photos and progress notes online for us to view on a regular basis from Vancouver. We came across the pond to check in on progress a couple of times and moved to Victoria prior to completion. Azu recognized my taste and vision for an updated, clean, bright but not sterile decor and was very determined to have things finished to our liking and detail. Blaise made sure that the construction and finishing were of a high quality. Overall, we were very pleased with the MAC team and various trades they contracted. Their professional and detailed proposal made it easy for us to secure approval from our strata management and they did their best to minimize disturbances to other residents in the building. We have been in our condo for a number of months and are very happy with the beautiful and functional renos which have had a number of compliments. We would certainly recommend MAC to others.

Met with Blaise for a consultation/estimate when we first started researching renovating our house. He was prompt, kind and knew what he was talking about. The nature and condition that we came to acquire the home was a sensitive topic and he handled it respectfully. The only reason we did not hire Mac Reno was because we have a lot of family and close friends in the trades, including a Contractor that took the job on and my husband who is an Electrician. I have run into Blaise a couple of times after the consultation and he is always friendly and has been gracious enough to share some tips. I certainly would not hesitate to recommend him and this company to those looking for a smooth renovation.

Mac Renovations completed a main floor renovation of our home in Spring/Summer 2016 that included a laundry room, powder room, kitchen, dining room, living room, family room, gas fireplace and front door installation. We were thoroughly impressed with the quality of work and the excellent customer service we received, particularly from Blaise and Alexis. We found the MAC team to be personable, detail oriented, considerate and flexible. Communication was never a problem – they checked in frequently and were easily reachable by phone or email. All of the sub-trades who worked in our home were courteous and thorough. The online scheduling tool was a great way to stay informed about what was happening on the job site each day, and there were no surprises with regards to budget or timelines. They did all this while managing OUR anxieties as newbies to the renovation world. When little problems and hiccups popped up (as they will in any major project) they were dealt with by MAC promptly and fairly. Even when an issue arose that was unrelated to the reno, Blaise and Ed were exceedingly helpful in troubleshooting and problem solving with us. We do not hesitate to recommend them to others and will certainly return to them for future projects.

As our move was from Vancouver to Victoria, home renovation became more challenging since we would still be living in Vancouver while our newly purchased house would be undergoing renovations in Victoria. Our life was made much easier thanks to the outstanding MAC Renovations team. Customer service, communication and craftsmanship were all excellent. From Vancouver, we were able to see the progress of the renovations by the photos posted on the MAC website, so I only went over for a site visit every 2-3 weeks. When an unexpected disaster occurred -- the new LED lights and the dimmer switches created an annoying hum -- the MAC team went back to the vendor and reinstalled new LED lights which were quiet. We will definitely recommend MAC to our friends.

The service was very professional and on time. When unexpected issues were discovered, the contractor discussed them with me, we agreed on a solution and an updated estimate provided for my approval. Very happy with reno/repair, looks better than the original.

Mac Renovations carried out a full sundeck renovation for us in July 2014. On very short notice and with very good pricing Mac Renovations carried out the pouring of new footings, new concrete patio, replacement of sundeck timbers and plywood, replacement of vinyl decking and installation of new aluminum railings and gutters. We really appreciated the prompt, clean and professional work done by the company. All the different specialty crews involved in cement pouring, framing, vinyl decking, gutters, and railing installation did an excellent, well coordinated reconstruction of our sundeck. In 2010 we hired Mac Reno to renovate two of our bathrooms. The main bathroom was gutted and reassembled with all new fixtures and new appliances. The en-suite bathroom was reconfigured and a shower was added to an adjacent unused area of the master bedroom. Prior to hiring Mac we had consulted with two other contractors but were not convinced that we wanted to hire either of them. Having seen the Mac booth at a few home and garden shows, we gave them a call. When we met with Elaine we explained to her what we wanted to do and she was in total agreement with our plans. Having done our research, we had been around to the various plumbing supply shops, tile shops, flooring shops, paint stores, etc and knew pretty much what we wanted and how we wanted the end result to look. With Elaine playing “devil’s advocate”, we changed our minds on a couple of things (and glad that we did!) and stuck to our guns on a couple. She sure knows her stuff!! As with any project there were a couple of minor hiccups along the way but they were addressed in a timely fashion to our and I believe, their satisfaction. Since the completion of the project we have encountered a few small problems. With just a phone call to Mac, someone was by to fix the problem. Elaine, the trades people that they contract, and the entire team at Mac Reno are top notch. I would highly recommend this company to anyone looking to renovate their home. Our decision to hire Mac Renovations for a complete remodel and renovation of our kitchen was based on their solid long standing reputation for quality work and excellent customer service....we were not disappointed! In fact, we have just re-hired them to remodel our fireplace into what will surely be an attractive and feature addition to our living room. Excellent company to do business with.

Mac Renovations did a complete house renovations, making a suite downstairs for my husband and myself. The upper floor was completely renovated for my daughter and her husband. The work done by the Mac Renovations staff was excellent and the staff were all very pleasant and respectful. The only downside was with some of the suppliers who did not come up to the same standard. Any problems we had with them were handled efficiently by Ed and his staff without undue pressure on us. The budget was kept fairly close to the original quote. There were overruns in some areas where we made the choice to change some items. I do not think that the price was cheap, but it was well worth the money to have things done right. You get what you pay for. I would have no problem in recommending Mac Renovations. In fact, I already have.

We had Mac Reno extend our roof in front of the house for protection from the weather. Made the front wheelchair accessible, with new drive way replacing the steps with a ramp to front door and a small patio. Also modernized the front room, fireplace, TV mounted on the fireplace and painted the house inside..The consultant (Dercik) has helped all the way with suggestions statement we have no problems just solutions, helped with colors fixtures etc. We are very happy with the results.

When I hired MAC Reno, I had planned to do a huge reno to my two story house. Ed and Jen led us through what to expect, what it would cost and helped tailor our decisions to keep in budget and get the best look for our house as possible. The workers were quick, polite/friendly, respectful to our house and to our neighbors. There were a few little things that went wrong, but MAC Reno investigated it quickly and made sure things were resolved. They showed great accountability, and made sure that all the trades involved showed the same values. Though they are on the expensive side of things, the work they do is well done. I would definitely use them again.

Azu was an excellent advisor and supervisor of our project - 3 bathrooms and a laundry room. The work was done well and for the most part on time. As with any project of this size there are always a few glitches, but these were dealt with promptly. Thus while the project took longer than anticipated everything was usable by the projected deadline. I was surprised to find that ideas I had mentioned casually were always followed up on. The result - we have 3 beautiful bathrooms and a small laundry room with a huge tub and even space for a clothes drying rack . Thank you Azu.

After hearing Shell Bussey recommending Mac Renovations to one of the callers on his talk show, I hired Mac Renovations to completely renovate the outside of my house which was covered in worn out cedar siding and cedar shakes. Due to finances I had to extended the renovations over many years and Ed at MR helped ensure that costs were reasonable. They did an excellent job putting on a new roof, vinyl siding, doors, windows, venting, concrete stairs, sidewalk and a new sundeck. The workers were courteous and cleaned up after themselves. Had 2 bathrooms remodeled. Our ensuite had radiant heating and ceramic tiles put in, shower stall removed and a large cupboard put in its place, marble sink and counter put in with matching marble tub with shower and marble surround. Also had new fronts put on the cupboard doors. In the main bathroom had ceramic tiles installed and new fronts on the existing cupboards. The MAC reps and all contractors were very friendly and professional and all projects were done on schedule. Their follow-up regarding some areas that needed further attention were quickly seen to.

We have hired Mac Renovations for two jobs. The first job was to install vinyl windows throoughout the house. The second job was to replace flooring in two bathrooms and the laundry room, install a new sink and cabinet in the laundry room, replace fans in both bathrooms and paint the laundry room, kitchen and window sills. On both occasions the jobs were completed on time with minimal disruption to our living space. The individuals performing the work were professional, respectful of our home and very customer service oriented. The quality of the work was of a high standard and suggestions were made on how to improve upon our original work request. I have recommended Mac Renovations to friends and family without reservation. An excellent company that stands behind its work.

MAC Renovations was hired to replace all windows, a skylight and to replace a sliding glass door with new French doors. MAC Renovations provided us with the best contractor experience we have had. The workers were very professional and the work completed excellent. What was very impressive was their attention to project management especially scheduling. We retained Mac Renovations Ltd. to act as the general contractor for a virtually complete renovation (about $500,000 in value) of our recently purchased 1969 residence. Mac provided overall coordination, provided design and planning advice, carried out some of the renovation work and retained and oversaw subcontractors for the rest. Overall we were delighted with the outcome. Mac takes a special pride in their client relations, which are excellent. The advice we received was thoughtful and caring, while respectful of our tastes and preferences. We very much benfited from the insightful advice on design details that Mac was able and willing to provide. The quality of workmanship was extremely high and the overall outcome is really very good and has received many favourable comments from the neighbourhood. Mac's own forces made every effort to cater to our requests that came up during the process and we came to view them as friends. Given the age of the house and its particular original construction, a number of issues came up which could not have been anticipated at the outset. Mac's inclination was nearly always to advocate for a solution that would work long term and was the 'right' thing to do, but at the same time Mac was always mindful of costs. Mac worked with the subcontractors to find the less expensive 'right' solution, which was almost always one we were very happy with. While the subcontractors were generally excellent, a couple of them did not perform as expected. Mac tried to ensure that these issues were rectified to our satisfaction (and subsequently dropped these contractors from their team). This again reflects the very positive approach Mac (and particularly CEO, Ed McDonald) has to client relations. Mac stresses quality and is therefore not necessarily the cheapest firm to hire - though we believe they do give value for money. In a 'cost-plus' arrangement, which is the most likely arrangement in a renovation of this type, keeping track of costs and cost projections is important. Mac's financial staff are very helpful, trustworthy and pleasant to deal with and supply the client with financial information on a periodic basis. However, any system is only as good as the basic data on which it is built, which in this case are cost estimates, subcontractor invoices and workforce timesheets. While generally helpful and undoubtedly adequate for smaller renovations, it is vulnerable to changing costs and cost estimates and even invoices that are significantly delayed in getting entered into the financials. In a large renovation with construction issues discovered along the way, these delays can result in the client and even the general contractor having a misleading impression as to what the actual state of expenses and budget is. This does not affect the ultimate 'value for money' delivered by the end of the project but extra care is needed when a big cost decision has to be made to ensure that the financial information available, especially the cost projections, is current and reliable. To sum up: Mac Renovations Ltd. delivers a high quality product and interacts with the client in a highly personable as well as professional manner. We are well satisfied with our renovated house and regard the staff at Mac with both respect and affection. They are not inexpensive but they deliver value for money. We would highly recommend thm to anyone wishing to undertake a significant residential renovation.

I'd give them 4 1/2 stars if that were an option. The final result was beautiful and just what we were looking for. Some things took longer than the timeframe given us. Not too surprising as there are always some delays. One item should have been ordered much earlier than it was and that held up the completion of the project. We pointed out a few details that needed to be addressed and they dealt with those quickly and professionally. Everyone who worked for MAC was pleasant to be around, and the same holds true for those they contracted.

Our experience with MAC Renovations was superb. Their employees were very personable, reliable, efficient, and excelled in the areas of trade they specialized in. We were always kept informed of the progress of our renovation which was completed on time and in a timely manner. We love our "new" home and have the expertise of MAC Renovations to thank for it!

We hired Mac Renovation to do an overall upgrade of our house in December of 2006. We chose Ed's company because he called all the sub-trades together to see the job before giving us a quote. All his subcontractors were always on time and left our house very tidy at the end of the work day. We were impressed that every day of the 5 month project at least one trade was on site. Everyone worked well together and were respectful of each other. Jennifer was extremely helpful in choosing our colours, tiles, lights and other interior finishes. It really impressed us how Ed said he wanted to be our friend at the beginning and the end of the renovation. We know that we can phone him and things get well done in a timely manner. We would certainly go back to Mac Renovations if we ever do another project.

Recently, I have had my windows upgraded by MAC Renovations LTD.. The whole experience has been a positive and handled in a very professional manner... From my first conversation with the project coordinator,. explaining a bit about the company and the type of work they perform and connecting me with the site- supervisor. who took the time to demonstrate not all windows are created equal.!!! Measurements were taken .. Even the owner of MAC dropped by to say hello and review the measurements accordingly.. And windows were ordered. The window order arrived earlier than expected to allow the project to be completed in a timely manner prior to Christmas. The installers/carpenters and helpers provided by MAC Renovation were not only excellent with their craft but a pleasure to have around... Throughout the project, I was provided with a website to follow the progress step by step. And, was frequently visited by the site supervisor who kept tabs on the job and kept me well informed.. I have had Mac Renovations do several major projects on my house over the past four years, all of which have been of exceptional quality. The first big one was turning my unfinished basement into a two bedroom unit for my father, including kitchen and bathroom. They got it done on time and on budget. Mac has also overseen the painting of the exterior of my house, including managing several repairs needed during the painting process. Mac oversaw the new roof placed on my house as well, including undertaking repairs needed during the roofing process. In addition to these bigger projects, they've also handled some smaller jobs, such as my house's skylights, which started to show small signs of leaks after 20 years. They had someone here to measure and order the new skylights within hours, and they were installed within a week. They've also built exterior sheds on my property that are safe, secure and solid. I generally have left town during my renovation projects, and I have complete confidence that Mac will get my job done while I'm away. I trust them 100% with what is by far my greatest asset, my house.
