We had a wonderful experience with Maggie Cham, the owner and interior designer of madDesigns. As a Houzz Pro myself, I knew I didn’t have the time to thoughtfully work with my wife to design AND finish our lower level and so we engaged in a relationship with Maggie. It was a great experience for me and a builder and she brought a lot of knowledge and experience to the table and really was creative with our space. She and my wife spent time together and really helped us bring our visions to life. My favorite design idea that she did, working with my cabinet maker to design this outstanding wall display for my large screen TV using a walnut wall display, it adds an architectural and a texture, feature to the space with floating shelves, and a bookcase where the alcove of the fireplace would have been. Please see the picture for reference. Also, adding a 12 inch baseboard made out of the same walnut right under where the TV wall display is and wrapped it around the wall and it looks fantastic. She helped my wife really bring the space to life. I cannot speak highly enough about her creativity and design and we couldn’t be more thrilled. I would love to work with Maggie again and would highly recommend her.

I cannot recommend madDesigns more highly. It has been almost 1 year since our kitchen/bathroom remodel was completed and we still marvel at how beautiful and functional the spaces are. Maggie took my ideas and designed a space that works even better than I imagined She was very easy and very fun to work with. She was able to help us visualize what the finished product would look like. As our interior designer and contractor she was there for us every step of the way. She listened to what we wanted and helped us put together the perfect kitchen and bathroom. She was happy to bring samples to the home and helped us select every single material used, from tiles to hardware to lighting, painting and more. She made the entire process stress free. Maggie’s keen eye for organization and design addressed details that we never even thought of. Our kitchen and bath were planned and executed perfectly down to the smallest detail. Maggie has a wonderful working rapport with all of the contractors she uses and all of them were respectful, easy to communicate with and thoroughly cleaned up each day. She is a true professional and takes great pride in her work. I am happy to give madDesigns my highest recommendation for any project.

We couldn’t be happier with our kitchen renovation, and Maggie deserves huge credit for that. From the very beginning, Maggie was organized, responsive, and genuinely invested in getting every detail right. She expertly coordinated among multiple vendors and subcontractors (which, as anyone who has renovated knows, is no small miracle) and kept us informed every step of the way. We always knew what was happening, when it was happening, and who was doing it—no mystery, no stress. Her design choices for the backsplash and countertops were spot-on, and the final result is both beautiful and functional. The kitchen feels cohesive, thoughtfully designed, and exactly what we hoped for—maybe even better. If you’re looking for a designer who combines great taste with excellent project management and communication skills, Maggie is the real deal. We love the final product and would happily work with her again (though we plan to enjoy this kitchen for a long time first).

Maggie is a good designer for historic homes, however, we had a negative recent first experience. I found her communication skills to be lacking, she sometimes had long response times, seemed impatient with me at times, and repeatedly asked the same questions, which was very frustrating. The last straw was when we asked for an itemization of what we thought was a very expensive quote and a competitive bid. The entire experience was very unfortunate since I was paying hourly consulting fees for which I felt I did not realize the value I was expecting. I do not recommend working with her.

Our family has worked with Maggie on multiple projects over the years, including a complete kitchen and den renovation, bathroom remodeling, and a construction of a brand new pool house. Throughout all of these, it felt like a friendly partnership. Maggie took the time to get to know our family and the way we use our space. Most of the time, we did not have a clear vision of what we wanted out of a project, and she was able to work with us to not only create that dream idea, but also bring it to life. Maggie's vision is like no other. She has a way of viewing spaces and reimagining their functionality- from the overall grand idea down to simple details that make such statement pieces. She has been valuable to us every step of the way. We are treasuring all of her hard work every day, as we enjoy the exceptionality of our home. Looking forward to future collaborations with Maggie and can't recommend her highly enough!

We’ve worked with Maggie on a range of projects over the past few years—from a full interior redesign when we first moved in (paint, carpeting, and furniture for multiple rooms) to designing a glass railing railing system, more recently, updating our outdoor spaces. Maggie has a great eye and a clear, thoughtful approach. She brings well-curated options to the table, helps guide decisions and thinks about both aesthetics and function. She also coordinates with all the different vendors and installers, which is incredibly helpful. We’ve really enjoyed working with her and have been very happy with the results!

Maggie is a great listener and designer. She was able to rethink a better footprint for our kitchen that works and flows more efficiently. She also really collaborated on the design elements and taking into consideration my inspiration images. She also communicated well throughout the process.

As busy parents of three young children, we wanted an updated kitchen with a more efficient layout that worked for our family’s lifestyle. In addition, it was important to us that the space worked well for crowds of adults and kids, as we love to host and entertain in our home. Maggie was able to capture exactly what we needed and wanted by designing a completely new layout of our kitchen that allows for two chefs and three kids to cook, bake, do homework, and have craft/arts space all at the same time. Maggie has incredible sense of style (she knows what’s on trend, what is timeless and what is just not done anymore) and helped us to stretch our imaginations to trust in her vision! She knows what she is doing! Maggie’s attention to design, symmetry and overall flow of the space transformed our kitchen into a space that feels like it should have always been a part of the house design. Further, Maggie was able to provide detailed budget projections prior the start of construction as well as provide regular updates on budget so we were never surprised by any costs. I highly recommend madDesigns and Maggie Cham for your project(s)! We cannot wait to have her remodel more of our home in the future!

Working with Maggie made our bathroom dreams come true. We listened carefully to our needs and our wants and found a way to beautifully bring them together. Fixtures and finishes were beautiful and more than once, she steered us away from things we thought we wanted but actually would have been a poor choice. We would hire Maggie and her team again in a heartbeat.

The first time we ever used a designer was when we worked with Maggie. I was very reluctant because we have very strong opinions about design and our aesthetic. We had always done our own design, material selection and acted as our own GC. Maggie understood that and made the process work for us. After our initial consultation she said she would come back to us with a couple different scheme ideas and materials to choose from. I was definitely apprehensive. She proved me wrong 100%. She met our aesthetic, pushed our limits and delivered better than what we had hoped for. We love our spaces she designed and our friends rave about them. In fact our powder room is so beautiful that our guests often say they just want to hang out in there.

We worked with Maggie on a renovation of 2 of our bathrooms and our office. From start to finish she was fantastic and we would never work with anyone other than Maggie in the future. I would give her 10 stars if I could. Maggie listened to what we wanted and executed it perfectly. She really got to know us and our style and put together several sets of plans for us to work from. She was incredibly accessible and came to our house often with samples of finishes, paint, etc so that we could see what things looked like in our space. When we were picking out furniture she even took us to her parents house so we could see one of the chairs we were choosing from as they have it in their home. The finished product is exactly as we wanted it to be and we love it. Brian Podgorski, the contractor who works with Maggie was phenomenal as well. His team was here when they said they would be here and worked hard, every day, to get the work done. Brian was also incredibly accessible through every step of the process. The team worked some weekends to keep the project on time which was incredibly impressive We have recommended Maggie and Brian to multiple friends because we were so impressed. I'm looking forward to working with them again in the future.

Maggie worked with us in winter of 2016 to remodel our kitchen and powder room. We had a wonderful experience working with her, and are so happy with our new space. Maggie was knowledgeable and creative in designing the space. She also was easy to work with -- an excellent listener and a quick responder. We hope to work with her again in the future.

Maggie Cham is a brilliant home designer and absolute professional. My husband and I had the good fortune of working with Maggie when we renovated our home in 2013. Although she consulted primarily on our kitchen expansion/remodel and conversion of an office to a master bath, she helped bring the whole remodel together - selecting paint colors for the house interior, light fixtures throughout, etc. Maggie is a fun and outgoing person who was easy to interact with on a regular basis. My husband and I would often have conflicting design ideas, and Maggie successfully served as Peacemaker (e.g. Compromise Negotiator). Ultimately, my husband and I are both happy about (almost) everything. Aside from her design talents, one of the best things about Maggie is her network - she knows what contractors, painters, bathroom suppliers to use, and she has established relationships with these people that (I believe) result in better service. Before we started our full home reno, my husband and I had no idea - NO IDEA - how insane and stressful a renovation is. We just thank our lucky stars that we had Maggie to guide us through the process - we have her to thank for a beautiful and functional finished product that we will enjoy for many years to come!

We hired Maggie Cham for an extensive kitchen renovation in our 90-year old house. The project also involved installation of a powder room, mud room, and office along with the kitchen. This was absolutely the best decision ever. My husband and I both work full time, and we don't have the time nor inclination to tackle the details of a major renovation. Ms. Cham made it easy for us. She did all the heavy lifting, from helping us pick out all of the components to interacting daily with the contractor. We are extremely pleased with the results. We will definitely work with Ms. Cham again and highly recommend her!

Hiring Maggie to design and oversee the remodel of our home was the best decision my husband and I could have made. Not only is she a design genius(!), her warm and caring personality made her an absolute dream to work with. Maggie listened to our needs and ideas and designed a space that is way more beautiful and functional that we ever imagined. From the design and drawing phase, through the demolition and construction phase, to the finishing touches, Maggie was always there to answer questions and problem-solve issues that arose. She communicated directly with the contractor and other trades people, making the process easy and relatively stress-free for us. Maggie is extremely attentive to details and she genuinely cared about getting every last one right, creating a beautiful, custom space that meets all of our family's needs. Maggie was a dream to work with. She asks lots of questions and really listens and respects what you want and need in the remodel and she puts your thoughts on paper.
