We contacted MCD with ambitious but vague ideas of wanting to do a little bit of everything without a clear plan or focus. Meghan’s linear and organized approach to conceptualization and planning was exactly what we needed. Meghan and Cristina came up with novel ways of thinking about our space to suit our functional needs that we never would have considered without their help. As our project progressed, their work was amazing in terms of design, staying on budget, and the right amount of handholding that we needed to manage the project. The final outcome for our home is beautiful and functional, and we are so happy to be living here! MCD was absolutely significant value added to our project.

In February 2016 we met with Meghan Carter to brainstorm about renovating our 80+ year old semi-detached home. For fourteen years we had tossed around numerous concepts and designs to make the house more functional and comfortable, yet we just couldn’t see a clear path forward. Meghan and her team came up with some amazing concepts and designs to choose from, and once we had decided on the plan, they held our hands and expertly guided us through the next 14 months of learning, planning, sourcing, negotiating, etc., and 10 months of demolition, digging, and reconstruction. Fast forward two full years, and we are literally living in our dream home! Renovations are notoriously difficult, and ours was no exception. With that said, Meghan and her team were so effective in navigating through the emotional and financial minefields of design and construction, that we crossed the finish line within our general timeline, only slightly over budget, and with our relationship still intact! We thoroughly enjoyed working and collaborating with Meghan and her team, and found Meghan’s vison, knowledge, experience and connections in the industry to be extremely valuable. Meghan’s ability to push us out of our comfort zone and yet reign us in, when needed, has yielded spectacular results, and we are eternally grateful for a job well done.

We had a large project of re configuring our main floor living space. Although we had a clear idea of how we wanted our space to look it required a detailed plan. Meghan and her team came highly recommended. At our initial meeting Meghan understood our vision immediately and began to lay out the project. Throughout the process Meghan and her team remained organized keeping us focused and on track. Our new space is not only beautiful and functional but it is exactly what we had envisioned it to be.

Meghan was amazing to work with. She has an incredible creative eye and her technical knowledge made it very easy for her to work along side our General Contractor. She was able to take a small space and maximize it to its full potential. On top of it all, she was so easy to work and very collaborative.

Meghan and her team helped us redesign and renovate the main floor our house (kitchen / dining room / living room) and we would definitely recommend working with them. They provided design suggestions that we would have never thought of which have added great functionality (and style!) to the house and helped us identify different options so we didn't have to sacrifice design to fit in our budget. Meghan also had recommendations for excellent contractors which is so important. We would certainly work with Meghan and team again!

As we embarked on our dream to build our new custom home, we quickly realized we needed help. After we hired Meghan and her team, we were immediately impressed with their attention to detail and creativity. Megan was able to help us save time and make design decisions that realized our vision throughout the entire house. The team was professional, patient, and responsive to all our requests no matter how small. I would recommend her services without hesitation.

We recently partnered with Meghan to reimagine our cramped and completely non-functional basement. Meghan and her team transformed the space into a family friendly haven with a spot for everything. It is child friendly but not child dominated. Meghan and her team created multiple floor plans for our space. Meghan provided us with a "shopping list" of items to choose from to fill that space. This shopping list included items at different price points so we could choose where to splurge and where to save. Meghan challenged us to use bright pops of colour that really brought life to our basemet. Working with Meghan and her team was a delight from start to finish and I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for fresh ideas for their home.

It was such a pleasure to work with Meghan and her team! We were in desperate need of her ideas for a more open concept and functional kitchen and also desperate for storage in our 1920s home and she delivered. We couldn't imagaine fitting a 10 foot Long Island in our kitchen but we did and it's so great. Meghan designed a banquet that is fabulous and her vision for opening up our dark, wood panelled staircase was brilliant. Meghan found space for a large closet on our main floor that we never could have envisioned being able to accommodate. Meghan and her team are professional, always one step ahead and this kept the project moving forward. We are thrilled with our light, open Reno and the expertise that Meghan has in working out problem areas in our older home was invaluable.

We recently partnered with Meghan Carter Design on the redesign of our second floor. My husband and I knew that the original layout was not making the best use of the space; the bathroom was very tiny, the master bedroom was long and awkward, one of the kids’ bedrooms was too big and the other too small. But we needed someone to come up with a floor plan that would satisfy several ‘wish list’ items, including a double vanity, separate shower and bath, and a king size bed in the master. As soon as I contacted Meghan Carter, I knew she was up for the challenge! Not only did she address all of the wish list items but she came up with FOUR different floor plans for us to choose from, each within our budget. Once the floor plan was selected, Meghan and her team created a “Look Book” for the three bedrooms and bathroom with creative and inspiring design options that were within our budget. I will admit that we hesitated with a couple of the recommendations that were outside our comfort zone (brass in the bedroom) but could not be happier with the result!! Meghan Carter Design also assisted with the contractor selection; developed the lighting plan; managed the custom cabinetry design and install; and provided valuable guidance and consultation throughout the entire project. From concept to completion, Meghan Carter Design was extremely responsive and client-oriented. When we had an issue with one of the sinks that had been installed, they immediately contacted the vendor and exceeded our expectations with the resolution. Needless to say, our experience with Meghan Carter Design has been amazing. Every time I go upstairs, I’m in awe of the beautiful new space they helped create – even the kids love spending time in their new rooms! I would not hesitate to recommend Meghan Carter Design to anyone that is looking for a professional, creative and thoughtful designer.

We used Meghan and her team to help with the design and implementation of a complete rehaul of our main floor. We were quite happy with the project and really appreciated Meghan's keen eye and attention to detail. We would have never thought of our unique layout on our own and were impressed with her ideas. Her team was well organized and communicated promptly and effectively. Any issues that arose during the project were dealt with appropriately. Meghan's experience and insight were invaluable to our first home renovation experience. We interviewed several deisgners before Meghan and she stood out as being someone who would be as organized and nit-picky as us. Would recommend!

From the start, Meghan & Ashlyn were prompt, organized and thorough. They helped us re-imagine our old, cramped space into a modern, open, storage-friendly and kid-friendly home. They were always available by email or phone. They managed any hiccups that occurred during the renovation very smoothly. Would definitely work with them again.

After years of thinking about it we finally went ahead and renovated our master bedroom and 2 upstairs bathrooms. We hired Meghan to help us realize our vision for the improvements and are thrilled with the outcome. Megan and Ashlyn took the time to understand what we wanted and were able to achieve all of that and more. We are thoroughly enjoying our luxurious new bathroom and transformed bedroom.
