It was such a pleasure to work with Mike Scorziell on the remodel of our Lake Arrowhead cabin originally built in the 70's. Mike brought a level of professionalism and integrity to the project that was very much appreciated and respected. As a builder he has a unique eye for design and is incredibly creative. We worked together beautifully collaborating on our ideas and budget. We couldn't be happier with his work and our newly remodeled cabin. Mike brings high quality workmanship and attention to detail that raises the bar in the building industry.

We hired Mike to completely renovate our vacation home which was in complete disrepair when we purchased it. The project involved extensive demolition and reconstruction and took nearly a year to complete. Throughout the process, he was very helpful in providing design ideas, suggesting color schemes and listening to our input. For example, my husband hated the rock fireplace and wanted to tear it out. The cost was prohibitive so Mike offered an alternative idea that involved framing over it with wood and granite. The result was a beautiful compromise that made everyone happy. With us living out of the immediate area, it was also very helpful that Mike was easy to contact by text message, email or phone.

After meeting with several contractors, I chose Mike Scorziell to complete a major renovation of my 1935 cabin in Blue Jay. Since the first contact, Mike has been responsive to every concern and idea that I presented to him. Mike has an enthusiasm for his craft and each individual project, which is why I felt he was the right contractor for the job. He is easy to communicate with and really listens to what the client is asking for. He is a true perfectionist and is meticulous about getting the small details correct, and that truly makes all the difference in the design and feel of a house. I had been working with an architectural firm and their initial (and subsequent) design was disappointing and the flow disjointed, even after a lot of guidance from me. Not only did Mike discover errors with the measurements on the plan and correct them (he did this as a courtesy before I had even officially hired him), he made vast improvements and took a rendering that was completely lacking in any architectural detail and designed an architectural plan that has more charm and vintage character than I had even imagined was possible. Not only is Mike a talented designer, he looked at the plans from a building stand point and revised them in such a way to maximize and make the best use of the space. The original plans called for an additional support wall to be added around the interior to keep the foundation stable, and Mike recognized immediately that doing the construction as it had been proposed would be overly costly and in the end create a space that was not functional. In short, I am ecstatic with Mike’s honesty, creativity and responsiveness so far on my project; in addition, the time he has spent perfecting the design has gone above and beyond what I would ever have expected of any contractor. I am very excited to bring this dream to reality with his guidance.

I have worked with Mike several times in recent years. Mike's projects are always exciting. The detail he puts into the design and construction is some of the most innovative you will see. The projects are always challenging and rewarding to be involved in. I have done some very unique floor and window covering treatments with Mike. They are never run of the mill. He always seeks to find a better solution so that the end product is remarkable. Always looking forward to his next project.

Mike did a complete remodel inside and outside of my 8,000+ square foot Lakefront house in Lake Arrowhead I purchased to rehab. The house was built in the 1990's and was not updated since built. I wanted a Mountain look but mixed with Farmhouse/Country. Mike did an amazing job of designing a great look and executing on all of the construction. He had many items made from scratch and my house is totally custom and a showpiece. People cannot believe the before and after photos, as well as just the overall design and quality of the work. Mike Scorziell did an almost complete indoor and outdoor remodel of our mountain cabin. ( We wish we had gone ahead and done the shower enclosures) We are very pleased with the transformation to a modern home. Mike has good design sense. We brainstormed together to develop our motif. He was good at diplomatically pointing out any flaws in our ideas. I think his carpenters were very good. Although there were a few issues, I don't think we could have done any better with anyone else. Mark Miles
