Professional, reliable and seamless to work with We hired Thomas and his team at Murdock Construction to do our kitchen remodel. They were recommended by both our cabinet makers and neighbours and from the beginning we had a great feeling about working with them. They were transparent about timeline and deliverables, the process ran smoothly with VERY few hiccups and the quality of work was better than we could have expected. They took care of all of the back and forth between our vendors, they were extremely clean during demo and all of the stages of construction, ensured our space wasn’t taken over by construction and made it so that we didn’t have to worry that everything was running smoothly. What we appreciated most was that we never had to worry if we were a priority and if the work was done to the highest level. Truly a low stress renovation. 10/10 would recommend Thomas and his team, and we will certainly be using them for any of our future renovation projects!

When we began to investigate doing a renovation on our home, we really weren't sure where to turn. There are so many horror stories of incompetent contractors or companies who take your money then disappear. Thankfully, Murdock Construction is none of these things. We added a fairly large two story addition consisting of a mudroom, family room, primary bedroom, en suite bathroom, walk-in closet, balcony, car port, complete residing of the home, window replacement and a new backyard shed. New furnace, heat pump and electrical panel were also part of the renovation. This was a very large project for us, considering we had never done a renovation anywhere near this size. Throughout the entire process, Thomas and his team were there to walk us through our options and help us to make the best decisions for our project. The job site was cleaned up at the end of each day and we always felt that the teams respected our space. The results are beautiful, and we couldn't be any happier with our new space. Where MCI really shines is with their communication. Thomas was always easy to reach, be it by phone, email or text, and was consistently on-site. There was never a time where we felt we couldn't ask questions or check up on the progress of a project. No project runs perfectly, and we had our share of hiccups, but Thomas dealt with them quickly and collaborated on solutions that were more than fair, and were sometimes even better than the original plans. We are planning to work with MCI again and look forward to completing more projects with them soon.

When we set out to do a major renovation of our bedroom and master bathroom, we struggled to find plans and expertise that matched our expectations. With several false starts behind us, we were thrilled to meet Thomas who shared our vision for what was possible and even introduced us to new ideas that went beyond what we thought we might be able to accomplish. With plans in place, Thomas and his team began the journey with us and despite many challenges associated with a 50+ year old house, they identified solutions and worked to address any issues so that no future problems might arise. The work and approach was highly professional, of top quality and it met timeline and budget discussions that had taken place with us. Thomas clearly communicated what he was doing, and why, and this allowed us to ensure that the work was proceeding according to what had been discussed. Every trade that participated in this project was personable, knowledgeable, professional and highly skilled. The worksite was cleaned each day and great care was taken to respect our space and our belongings. The final outcome far exceeded our expectations and we are thrilled with how the vision came to life. We continue to marvel at the level of craftsmanship and could not be more pleased with the work performed by Murdock Construction. We would not hesitate to engage with this company again or to recommend them to others seeking high quality work.

What sets this company apart is their attention to detail, the constant communication, the management of the project and all of the sub-trades involved. What we enjoyed the most from our renovation experience with MCI, it was very evident from the start that this is not a job to them, it is a passion. The more questions we asked, the more they learned about us and our process and they adapted to us very quickly. It was always about us and our vision and not only did they deliver but they did it flawlessly.

We hired Murdock Construction primarily to renovate our second floor. This included a gut and remodel of two bathrooms and a walk in closet, hardwood installation in the bedrooms, and all new doors, etc. We also replaced windows and trim throughout the house. Thomas and team did a fantastic job. The end result is beautiful and the costs and timeline were very close to Thomas’s estimates. I am very happy we chose Murdock Construction and would hire them again without question.

We contracted with Thomas and his crew/subcontractors to complete a first floor renovation for our 1970's home including a new kitchen. We had them remove a load bearing wall and open up the floor space for our new kitchen / dining room. They were extremely professional, competitive in terms of price and fully transparent with us as clients as the project moved along. There were no surprises along the way and Thomas and his crew were very flexible if we wanted to change something or explore additional options. They were truly a pleasure to have in our home and the final product exceeded our expectations!!! I would highly recommend Murdock Construction to anyone!

We hired Murdock Construction to completely renovate the second level of our 100+ year old home. Full bathroom, laundry room, master bedroom and dressing room. Thomas was very easy to work with and very informative from our first discussion to completion. The quality of the work by either Thomas, Josiah or any other the other professionals that work on our house was very high. The renovation was ran like a project; managing the scope, cost and timeline and maintained constant communication. I would definitely recommend Murdock Construction to anyone looking to renovate their home.

Thomas did a full kitchen renovation for us during the pandemic. He kept as close to timelines as possible given the circumstances and did a great job keeping on budget. Would highly recommend him and his team and do future renovations with him.

We did a full kitchen gut job that started in Feb 2020 with Thomas Murdock Construction. It was a great experience, even while adapting to work through the pandemic. We had contacted numerous contractors to bid the job and so few followed through to show up or provide estimates after their visit but Thomas was reliable and professional throughout the whole process. We designed and laid out everything on our own and he was immensely helpful providing feedback and guidance based on his experience but was more than happy to accommodate any request we had. Like all good contractors, they're going to be a bit backlogged with work at the moment since there was a pause in the city allowing new permits. We are starting another project, an extension, with Thomas in the fall.

Thomas and his team did a great job on our kitchen renovation. Cost and timeline estimates were accurate and quality was amazing. We appreciated in particular his attention to details and his hands on approach, Thomas was on site almost every day and did some of the work himself. Looking forward to working with him again.

We hired Thomas to work on our basement and main floor, after a devastating flood in our home. It was a pretty stressful situation and throughout the whole process Thomas and his crew were very professional and helpful. The price for our reno was very competitive and we are thrilled with the quality of the work. We were very happy with the quality of his subcontractors as well, and Thomas was very present to ensure that their work was to his, and our calibre. There was always transparency with respect to any unexpected complications (i.e. crack in floor beam) and these were consistently solved with great expertise. The work was completed on schedule. During demolition and drywall work, the areas under construction were well sealed off and our home was kept clean, which was important to us because we have small children. We would recommend Murdock Construction for any home renovation, big or small.

We were looking for someone reliable to demolish our kitchen and put up our newly purchased Ikea cabinets, as well as the countertops, backsplash and lighting. Thomas impressed us by being very prompt and communicative from the outset. He and his team did a great job with the project. From the assembly and installation of the cabinets, to coordinating the electrical, plumbing, counter, paint and backsplash, everything went very smoothly. The entire renovation took 4 weeks. Everyone was friendly and efficient; if we had questions, they took the time to explain things. I was particularly happy that everything was so clean. The kitchen was completely sealed off, and every evening before leaving, all the dust was vacuumed away. I was warned by friends that the rest of the house would get dusty, but this was not the case. Thomas was very quick to respond to emails. We continue to be very happy with our kitchen reno. We would gladly have Murdock Construction back if only we could get our basement cleaned up!
