Oak Hill completed a large renovation project for us, spanning multiple floors over an 8 month period. Their work, attention to detail, professionalism, cleanliness and personality were wonderful. Despite a few construction hiccups (thanks to an older house), they kept the project on schedule and as planned. We also appreciated their crews, who were willing to work around dogs, kids, and everything in between. We felt very comfortable having Oak Hill in our home, while living through the extensive renovation. We've recommended Oak Hill to several friends, and will definitely use them again in the future.

In 2017 we contracted with Oak Hill Remodeling (OHR) to add a 2-story addition to the back of our house (sunroom and master bedroom suite extension). We got 3 quotes, with OHR being the only one who listened to our preferences and budget. We're very happy with the end result and the support that OHR has provided since the project ended. We would use OHR again and recommend them. However, there were some issues that OHR handled in very satisfactory manner. One issue was not getting our first choice of materials multiple times. Some choices had to be remade due to: the vendor had us choose from the "wrong" selections; OHR did not submit our order in time; our choice was not available when the order was put in. Second, getting the daily/weekly work schedule was challenging due to the availability of employees and subcontractors. We had to stay flexible. Finally, the roofing subcontractor had to put tarps over the unfinished roof due to impending overnight heavy rains. We woke up w/water in the kitchen, family room and basement because the tarps hadn't been secured. OHS arrived quickly and called for help. OHR set up fans and began cleaning. They eventually replaced the entire kitchen ceiling and most of the family room ceiling, repainted the walls, and had the carpet professionally cleaned. Some features in our house surprised OHR. They had to be creative to meet our requirements and work around the surprises. OHR handled these surprises well; the end result is great!

We hired them to finish our basement from start to finish. They did an excellent job. Responsive and totally accountable. Any mistake or glitch, they took complete responsibility and made things right. Highly recommended.

Excellent quality work that resulted in an outstanding finished product -- a beautifully remodeled bathroom. There is no substitute for experienced craftsmen, including several that have worked for Nick for many years.

Oak Hill Building and Remodeling helped us to totally update an old bathroom into the one we envisioned. As with all projects, there were some issues during the remodeling process, but they were all resolved to our satisfaction. My husband and I particularly liked the attitude of this contractor of "how can we make you, the customer happy".

We were overall impressed with our experience with Oak Hill. We interviewed several contractors and ultimately chose Oak Hill due to the first impressions when we first met to discuss our project as well as the portfolio they presented for projects that seamlessly tied a new space to an old. When we first scheduled a preliminary meeting, the design team offered an evening appointment. With two small kids at home, we were hesitant, and we expressed this, but we were promised it was not a problem. And the patience that Tom brought with him was wonderful. Not only was he engaging with our family, but he kept on track even through the small interruptions. We had an idea of the project that we wanted to complete (a garage on the lower level and a master suite above it), but the suggestions given and the reasons for why our original thoughts could be improved upon (i.e. don't run plumbing any further than necessary!) were all great. We added a two story addition to the side of the house, and while it is clearly an addition (all of the houses in the neighborhood are identical), it flows so well from both the inside and the outside. Any time there was an issue at the house, they'd give us a call to discuss. There was sometimes a lack of response with emails, but phone calls and texts were always answered, even in the evenings and on the weekends. There were some small hiccups, but in all cases a solution was reached with a credit or no apparent charges for rework. Our project did come in over budget, but all of the overages were extras that were laid out upfront (allowances, additional dumpster to remove trees, etc.). We were not overly surprised at the end of the day when we owed more than the original estimate. The project took longer than originally planned, and several times we were told everything would be wrapped up but the date would come and go; however, this seems to be the way home projects go. Almost three months after completing the project, when we first turned our new AC unit on, we didn't get any cold air; I let Thomas and Nick know, as we figured it must have been something with the original installation since the unit had never been used. They sent someone right away, no questions asked. When we had our final project walk through, Nick told us they don't just walk away when the project is complete, and he proved that to be the case!

We hired Oak Hill Building to do 2 bathrooms in our townhouse. They did a great job working to complete one entirely before moving on to the second one. They were very attentive to making sure that we were fully satisfied with the work and we were able to make adjustments during the renovation thanks to their flexibility. Their price was competitive with all of the bids we received and I would definitely use them again.

Working with Oak Hill exceeded our expectations from start (with a friendly, low-pressure sales process) to finish (when they returned to complete a few small items after the final check had been paid). We chose Oak Hill because of the great reviews we had read, their responsiveness, and the estimated cost. They provide a price for the job and spell out allowances for the items you choose - I liked knowing that a good amount of the cost of the project was in my control. There were a lot of items to select to get things started: cabinetry, floor tile, wall tile, counter tops, etc. but Oak Hill has established an incredible network of partners, so even though Nick offered to come help as much as we wanted, working with people like Crina at Mosaic Tile made the process easy. I had been concerned that no contractor could meet my level of detail for the way work is done, but Nick and our project lead Jose went beyond. We feel like we won the lottery getting Jose and his crew on our project. They noticed details I didn't even know to look for and the personal pride they took in the work really shows in the final result. We trusted Oak Hill to make decisions about the project on our behalf--which were always verified with us first--and Nick had such a good understanding of our vision, he worked with his contact at Ferguson to make lighting, faucet, and other hardware requests to save us time. I would wholeheartedly recommend Oak Hill to anyone and will look forward to using them again myself in the future.

We are very pleased with the job Nick, Thomas and the Oak Hill team of technicians did to renovate our bathroom and kitchen. All were very professional, courteous and patient, and their workmanship is of the highest quality. They were here on time, and cleaned up the job site before leaving each day. We give Oak Hill Building and Remodeling our highest recommendation for making our renovation a most positive experience and will definitely contract them for any future work.

Oak Hill helped me take a vision for my new master bathroom and made it come alive. They were very easy to work with and I loved all their vendors they recommended. It is my little piece of Italy that helps me remember a very special trip and the shower is amazing.

Since project completion have discovered many roofing and siding errors that led to water damage to home. Contacted them and they sent someone to "fix" one of the many problems with the roof, flashing, and siding that were found when we had emergency remediation done after two floors sustained water damage. But first major rain after, it is leaking again from the spot that supposedly fixed and none of the other issues we had noted were ever even addressed as far as we know.
