We have worked with Onyx for ten years, and there are few companies — in any field — that I can recommend with such wholehearted enthusiasm. Over the course of our relationship, they have transformed two properties for us from the ground up: designing and building patios, stone walls, and a beautiful mix of formal and informal gardens that have genuinely changed the way we live outdoors. The work is meticulous, creative, and built to last. What sets Onyx apart, though, is how they do it. They are professional without being stiff, responsive without being reactive, and kind in a way that makes every interaction a pleasure. They listen carefully, bring real expertise to every conversation, and follow through on every promise. Ten years is a long time to work with anyone. The fact that we keep coming back says everything.

We hired Onyx for all the site work, landscape construction and horticultural work for the construction of our house and barn. That work took about 70 weeks, shorter than we had expected. While the project was complete in late 2015, we continue to use them for maintenance and small projects. Across that entire scope of work, the quality was outstanding. They deliver work on time, and their estimates are detailed. The specifications were demanding, and Onyx met them all. They participated closely in the planning work with our architect, landscape architect and general contractor. They have a massive armada of the right equipment, which is well maintained and operated by skilled, fun-to-be-around people. They are great to work with, and I recommend them.

Onyx has built over 20 projects I have designed. I can't recommend them highly enough. It is always a pleasure to work with them. The quality of their work is excellent for both hardscape and planting. They are professional in organizing all aspects of the project from estimating, to installation and project follow up. The project managers and crews are easy to work with and I am able to make each project a collaborative effort which ensures the best outcome for the client. They are upfront about project costs and duration.

Onyx did a complete relandscaping of our 1926 home in 2017. The results are spectacular. We never knew our property could be so beautiful. This year we are one of the houses on the garden tour. The Onyx crew that worked here everyday was amazing. They always told me what to expect each day, they were polite, respectful and hard working people. I recommend them highly.

Onyx revamped our whole yard 5 years ago and we couldn’t be happier with the beautiful oasis they designed , built and planted for us. The stone work is gorgeous and looks as if it’s always been a part of our yard as it blends into the landscape seamlessly. Not only did Onyx givenus a gorgeous yard, they did the prep work so expertly. They payed close attention to drainage and made sure everything drained properly which was an important issue to us. Not only is Onyx expert at all things landscape but every single craftsman working for them from lighting to stone masons were incredibly nice... The family who own Onyx are all terrific, kind and foniut ofnthier way to be helpful. I wholeheartedly recommend Onyx and would use them in a heartbeat.
