Patrick and I met at Holiday House in NYC, an organization that raises funds for the Evelyn Lauder Breast Cancer Foundation. I work for Traditional Home magazine and we were the national magazine sponsor, so my editors and I worked very closely with Patrick. We fell in love with him! His exquisite taste, his ideas, his friendly demeanor, his talent and professionalism. And his room at Holiday House was amazing! Patrick has worked with our editorial team on many projects. He has a rich and diverse background in art and design. But in my case, I had just rented a beautiful apartment in NYC with my new husband and my daughter and I asked Patrick to help me midway through the decorating process because I was tired of making silly and costly mistakes! Patrick did a great job of taking a boring white box and making it spectacular. A place we proudly call home and enjoy entertaining family and friends in. He purchased furniture, rugs, lighting, decorative accessories, custom window dressings, upholstery and made me the most beautiful customs pillows for the sofa. He listened to us, he took knowledge and inspiration from our tear sheets and Pinterest pages, he painted my apartment and included some architectural details that gave it such a refined look. Our theme was the beach, and he brought in some very personal elements - he made me a lamp from a rusty boat anchor, and found a Currey & Company chandelier made from oyster shells brushed with silver. He chose art for the walls as placeholders until we had a chance to fill it with our own art from our travels. The window dressing from Marks & Tavano are stunning! His choice of Benjamin Moore paint colors were spot on! He managed to warm this room up and embolden it with color all at once!
