Leading Interior Designers in Columbus, Ohio & Ponte Vedra, Florida

Snider & Metcalf Interior Design has been serving clients both nationally and internationally for over a decade from our two locations: Columbus, Ohio and Ponte Vedra, Florida. We are both members of ASID (American Society of Interior Design) and hold degrees in interior design. Peggy earned her design degree from Kendall College of Art and Design (of Ferris State) in Grand Rapids Michigan, after graduating from Hillsdale College, also in Michigan. Bethany obtained her design degree from The Ohio State University, after which she earned her NCIDQ certification, and is a past president of ASID. As designers, our goal is to capture your style and create a vision which is the best version of that style. After all, YOU live there, not us. With over 35 years of experience in residential and commercial design, we have had the privilege of working in a variety of genres from modern and contemporary to coastal and traditional. We pride ourselves in executing timelessly designed interiors. Because we understand today’s busy lifestyle, we work hard to ensure your home is functional, livable, and of course a beautiful reflection of you. We are a full-service design company providing floor plans and elevations, flooring, wall coverings, window treatments, furniture, lighting, and more. We can’t think of a space we haven’t designed: from kitchens and bathrooms to living rooms and bedrooms, wine cellars and outdoor living spaces, we’ve done them all, and enjoy every minute of it.

She is extremely professional and very responsive in her communication, which I really value highly. She does a wonderful job of taking your vision and guiding you through the process to execute it. She also worked really well with the contractor, so I always felt like I had a full team working to make sure I had a great finished product.

We recently purchased a condo and moved from our traditional home. I hired Bethany Metcalf to help me in choosing furnishings for the condo and with a remodeling project. Bethany helped me pick out furniture, lighting and accessories that fit my new home and she was in tune with my color preferences and had an eye on every detail that I would not have thought of on my own. Bethany provided me with options to choose from and I was delighted with how it all came together. She was easy to work with and listened to my concerns. I had a remodeling project and Bethany helped my with that too. Again, she offered design ideas that were detailed and look great. She worked with the general contractor and architect to make the project a success. And she was available to answer questions from the contractor on design as the project progressed. I enjoyed working with Bethany and would use her again on a project.

Bethany and Peg were great to work with on the interior design for our new home. We were moving from our family home of many years to a new home that was a completely different style and location. They took the time to understand our style and color preferences, and then developed a plan to finish our home in a way that fit us and looks amazing. It was a very interactive and iterative process. As we worked our way through each space they brought ideas to us and options, helping us see how it would work together. Our input was taken and incorporated into every aspect of the project, and we became very comfortable with the give and take of the process. They brought some really unique ideas that make our home one of a kind. They also brought a lot of really great resources to the table and managed the process well. They had a team of contractors, carpenters, painters, finishers etc. that made the whole process so much easier. We had worked with other designers on previous homes but this was our best experience by far. The result is a home that we love and fits our style beautifully. If we ever need a design team for another home project we would definitely choose them again.

We worked with Bethany Metcalfe to decorate our house and we couldn’t have had a better experience. We had a pretty unique vision that we wanted to come to life and Bethany worked with that vision and brought us some beautiful furnishing ideas to bring it to life. She also helped with our bathroom design and figure out the right scale and placement for furniture. Without her help we never would’ve pulled off our look and our long, narrow, formal living room would’ve been an unfinished mess. I hired Bethany Metcalf to design my four season room over this past summer. I was very pleased with the result and she fulfilled all my expectations for this project. Not only was she quick to understand my sense of style, needs, preferences, she was very professional, easy to talk to, and conscientious of my budget. I was very impressed with how quickly Bethany would transform my rather loose descriptions of what I wanted into a design concept so quickly and effortlessly. It was not at all stressful as I had anticipated (as I had never used a designer before) because I did not feel the pressure to get everything done and paid until I was ready. She always made sure that all communication was clear and that we were on the same page before placing orders on the furniture. I also really appreciated being able to just text her and drop her a line whenever a new thought came to mind and she was quick to give me her feedback. She was a professional every step of the way and a joy to work with. We are now working on my dining room !

I worked with Peggy Snider on a master suite remodel. Unfortunately for me, I didn't call her until I was halfway through the remodeling of my master bathroom. I wish I had known about her and worked with her from the beginning! She was extremely helpful and helped me work out some issues I had with the bathroom. I am very happy with how it turned out. She also helped me redecorate my master bedroom and I am extremely pleased. She was professional, prompt, and very easy to work with throughout the entire process. I worked with Bethany. I was trying to pick colors for our new house, which has a modern and distinct personality. I knew it would take me months to pick the right ones by myself. Bethany came in and worked with me for several hours. We picked all the colors for the rooms I needed. They look FABULOUS! Talk about time saver! She directed me to a great paint store and I went to work. Her advice saved me many hours of trying to decide and many tries with the wrong colors. The colors are warm and rich....very beautiful! She will be helping us with more colors and carpet later on when we get more settled in. Highly recommend her. She is awesome and easy to work with....and her color choices.....are spot on!

Bethany is my interior design hero! We engaged her to come up with a plan for our great room that would maximize the space and the view. The room needed to function for an active family and be comfortable enough that we would want to use it. Although I had some ideas, I was stuck on what to do. Bethany to the rescue. She took the time to listen to how we use the room, what we like, and our budget. Her recommendations for layout, furnishings, accessories, and color scheme were spot on. The furnishings are the perfect scale and look great - but also function and are comfortable for our family. The color scheme incorporates the flow of the rest of the home but has some subtle "pops" that make it feel like a separate space. The accessories pull it all together. We love this room! I feel like we have the exact balance of aesthetics and function that we were seeking. Bethany is professional and pleasant to work with. She takes the time to listen to your needs and thoughts and then uses her interior design expertise to make it all come together. The end result is perfect. I would hire Bethany again and again.

When I decided to fulfill a long time dream of opening my own yoga studio I already had an idea in my mind about what I wanted it to look like. The trouble is, I did not know how to make it look that way, and the space was very small and restricting. That's where Bethany came in. I told her the general feel that I desired, that I wanted people to walk in the door and feel comfortable and relaxed. I also needed lots of space for coats and shoes. When she came back to me with a sketch and ideas for furniture and accessory selections she was right on target. She helped me select items that fit my budget and space well and the place looks great. Peggy Snider was my designer, and we were very pleased with her work. Peggy did a number of small projects for us - selected fabric for 2 sofas to be recovered, selected carpet samples for us to choose from for a bedroom and family room, worked with her excellent sewing resource to create decorative curtains for our kitchen and a very creative valance that tied our kitchen and living room together perfectly. Peggy even sourced a local drapery installer as we live outside of Columbus. Peggy also had a custom cabinet built based on her original design, and had it shipped to our home - it was exactly what we wanted and could not find commercially in our price range. Peggy is thorough, creative, and works hard to understand your style before selecting a design for your home. I would work with Peggy again without hesitation.

Peggy Snider came in well into a huge renovation project, essentially a gut job of a 1950's ranch. The original designer whom we had engaged had family illness issues that made continuing with her not possible. Peggy was a godsend. She is organized, highly competent, very professional, and transparent and ethical. We would recommend her without reservation.
