Pete and the team at The Pratley Company have been fantastic to work with. Having a contractor who is reliable, communicative, and detail-oriented is critical—and Pete delivers on all fronts. From the outset, he’s been transparent with pricing, realistic with timelines, and proactive in flagging potential issues before they become problems. The quality of work has been excellent, and it’s clear he takes a lot of pride in what he does. Just as importantly, he treats each project like it’s his own, which gives me a lot of confidence throughout the renovation process. What really sets Pete apart is his professionalism and consistency. He shows up when he says he will, keeps things moving, and makes what can often be a stressful process feel much more manageable. I’ve worked with a number of contractors over the years, and Pete is someone I continue to work with. We recently used Peter & his team to help us finish our “bonus room” and had a wonderful experience. The team was incredibly accommodating and they worked hard to stay within our budget. Peter did an amazing job gut renovating my house 12 years ago. It is still in fabulous shape and meets the needs of my family. Peter proactively suggested several renovations that have proven key to our enjoyment and the longevity of our house, such as moving all of the major equipment upstairs which helped us survive Sandy in our area which floods. Peter also gut renovated three places for my mother over the years and each was very well done. Peter also is a pleasure to work with as a person and is a reliable individual and business man. How many people can say that they consider their contractor to be their friend?!? Use Peter and you will be happy!!!

TPC charged us $4,500 to provide us an estimate for construction costs (with a cap). The estimate came in late, with most of the numbers missing and a total well above the cap. TPC will not refund the money. 2023 - Took him to court, won a judgement against him. He refuses to pay it.

I'm an architect who's been working with Peter recently on a few projects & am very happy to team up with a builder with his qualities. Peter is very "hands-on", yet he still makes time to provide excellent service to his clients. He's well organized, reliable & has great design sense, which doesn't necessarily apply to all builders. Peter is very personable & has a great understanding of both the construction side & the business side of this industry. He keeps clients informed of costs as the project goes along, which is much appreciated as it keeps them on track & within their budget. I would highly recommend Peter to any of my clients & I'm sure we'll continue working together for many years.

We hired The Pratley Company to do a major addition on our antique Victorian home. We loved working with Pete and his team and were very impressed with their work. We added on a family room, laundry room, bedroom, bathroom as well as created a new playroom over the garage. The quality of the work was excellent and the attention to detail superior. People comment all the time that they can't believe how the floors, moldings and finishes match the orignal part of our home. Since the renovation, we have had The Pratley Company back to do some cosmetic work on the outside of the house. They also built us a custom fence for the perimeter. I have literally had people stop on the side of the road to ask for the name of the company that has worked on our house. We highly recommend The Prately Company and certainly plan to work with them again in the future.

We hired the Pratley Company in mid-2009 for a major renovation of our recently purchased 1970s condo. We chose Peter Pratley's company because from the very beginning he was super-organized, with detailed spreadsheets that tracked the various stages of the complicated project (which he updated with meticulous care as the project progressed). All the craftsmen he brought to the job -- electricians, plumbers, painters, floor finishers, etc. -- were highly professional and well supervised. Peter kept us well informed throughout the process. He is smart, impeccably honest, and had a broad range of skills. For example, he was able to work with the zoning people at Town Hall to help resolve a very sticky issue on our behalf. And he has an excellent eye for design -- I remember that he helped us choose kitchen cabinet, granite countertops, floor tiles, and backsplash that all looked great together. He had a great idea of how to create space for a mudroom off the kitchen. Peter handled the inevitable project modifications with patience, such as when we added a bathroom to the renovation list late in the game and when he uncovered the living room ceiling and found there was almost no insulation. Oh, and we really appreciated his good humor. Now, five years later, our renovation has stood the test of time -- not a single thing has broken or malfunctioned or proved disappointing.

Pete Pratley and his team did three large home renovations for my family over the last 20 years. We were very pleased with the results, the construction process and the competitive pricing that we received on all three. He was very knowledgeable and experienced in guiding us through the design, permitting and construction stages of the projects. He had many helpful design and construction ideas throughout the process that we look back on now and are glad we took his advice. Lighting recommendations, window selections, structural and foundation advice, plumbing ideas and others that proved to be very valuable over time. He met deadlines and schedules that were agreed on and was very clear when it came to changes and cost adjustments before they occurred. He and his crews were always a pleasure to be with and my family felt very comfortable with them in our home. He had a great attitude, great sense of humor and could be reached at any time during the project. I would highly recommend his company for both big and small home building and home renovation projects.
