Maria recently designed a complete kitchen remodel for us which included opening up the kitchen to the living room by creating a 16' arched opening, adding a beautiful center island, new cabinets, crown molding and more. She started with a preliminary design and then continually upgraded it throughout the project. One of her many talents is that she listened. She learned my taste preferences and was able to present design and material samples accordingly. She was always available to help me with selection or just to confirm or comment on a selection that I had made. She encouraged me to do as much as I wanted or to ask her for assistance. She took me through granite warehouses, we looked at tile and backsplash together. She helped me with wood and color selection for the cabinetry, helped me in choosing the crown molding pieces and even traveled to meet me just to confirm my choice in knobs and pulls for the cabinets. Maria took away any anxiety or lack of self confidence that I may have had during this project. My completed kitchen is functional and so very beautiful. My husband and I love it. My project was a total master bath remodel. I had never worked with an interior designer before, but I can't imagine a better one than Maria Ristau, Pratt Residential Design. We started with empty space and very few specific design features. I wanted a "start from scratch" approach and Maria's imagination was well suited to that challenge. I really enjoyed our brainstorming sessions as the final concept emerged from many possibilities. With that settled, she brought all the details together with professional quality drawings and provided hands on guidance through floor and shower tile selection, vanity cabinets and countertops, trim and wall color coordination, closet features, light fixtures, and the other myriad details required to finish the project. She was prompt in responding to any and all questions I raised and I quickly came to rely on her expertise and experience regarding even the minutest details. With the bathroom finished, I am now working with her on a few other, less extensive projects, and she is getting referrals from my contractor where his potential clients might express an interest in getting some professional design assistance. I think that says a lot for the quality of her work.
